Not Worth It

This game is really fun for the first 6 hours, Afterwords it becomes an incredibly slow grind. Which is also a pay to win system. I have been playing the game for 2 months now, and at first I really like the potential of the game, I love the upgrade mechanics of the cards. Do Not Buy Anything on this game: it is a rigged system, I spent 40$ for a value pack, and my draws got me nothing good and of value. In fact most of the coins you get to collect new/stronger cards will most likely give you the lowest rarity in the game. I regret ever spending money on this game and highly recommend everyone to not spend money. As for the content, after the first 6 hours of the game, it is almost not worth playing. You don’t get good upgrades, or new cards easily. In order to get more supplies as well this game requires you to watch ads in order to actually get good at the game with more materials. Needs Updating and More Content Content: there is no in game chat to talk to other players, and no guilds even though there is a status on every player that says they aren’t even in a guild. The events are always lame and leaderboard based. I’m not happy with the: game for lack of improvement, pay to win, lots of ads, and hard to get high level characters, as well as low character draws. I am happy with: the character cards, upgrade system (equipment, souls) to level up, fighting mechanics, arena, fight aesthetics. Wish this game was better, honestly.

Fun game, some problems though

I downloaded this game on whim and it is fun, I have played it very frequently since I downloaded it. However, there are some things that could be improved. The amount of high level characters that are out of reach my FTP players is wild, I have spent some money on the game, but many people will not, and it alienates non-paying players by not giving them more opportunities to get strong, high level characters. Another issue is the artifact upgrade system. It is far too expensive to upgrade your artifacts. There are different ways to fix this, either take away the gold cost, take away the chance for the upgrade to fail, or make it to where the gold is only taken if the upgrade succeeds. I should not have to spend thousands and thousands of gold coins only for the upgrade to ultimately fail and I’m left with nothing to show for it. Finally, high level players get high level rewards, which makes sense, however, this also means that the top players stay at the top and lower level players have no way to get Meat, Legendary characters, or blue/pink/rainbow coins. After a while lower level players will stop playing because they will stagnate and get bored.

If I continue to play I won’t be spending anymore money unless issues like these and others mentioned in previous reviews are fixed.

3 stars for a reason

Ok hear me out the game is super dope the graphics the unique cards the design the game play is an overall 10 but bro the prices to advance in the game is super unrealistic and out of order you have game packs for 50$ just to go and find the same exact thing in a different pack for 25$ it’s insane that’s like here buy this candy for 50$ just to find it in the same store for 25$ there’s no explanation on why the packs are cheaper the game is extremely pay to win there is no room for us guys that like to play don’t get me wrong I spent like 10$ already just to advance in the game if this game is strictly pay to win could you advertise that also there is no guide on the cards in the tower im losing to guys that had 2 star cards while mine is 4 star it makes no sense if certain cards are stronger then others we need to be informed I was lucky enough to pull a legendary card he’s literally stronger then my hero and my hero is 6 stars makes no sense at all in the PvP tower I’m going up against guys with power 50x stronger then mines that also needs to be fixed this game has so so so much potential it just needs major adjustments I feel like it’s one of those money grabbing games that doesn’t care about us players honestly if I could have some feedback or something I’d feel much more comfortable

Too Tedious For Free Players

The base gameplay IS somewhat fun, but progression is painfully slow for free players, ads and “special offers” feel endless and as a whole this game simply asks/expects too much of players. There are daily bonuses that only trigger after THREE HOURS of gameplay, for example, which feels ultra excessive and unreasonable to ask someone to play a mobile game for each day. The black hole of power creep is endless here between leveling up units, evolving them, ascending them, leveling up their skills, leveling up equipment… To TRULY have a maxed out team you’d conservatively spend thousands of dollars, likely far closer to tens of thousands of dollars, and as a free player this goal would be completely unreachable with any amount of grinding. The game also has other predatory “please spend money” systems in place such as an energy system that you can, of course, spend premium currency to instantly refill. I enjoyed my time with Black Deck but even in the first few days I felt it starting to wear on me and I think I’d be beyond sick of it if I forced myself to play daily for six months or anything along those lines. For me, getting away from this before I sink more time into an ultimately hopeless endeavor for those of us unwilling to bust out our credit cards is the right decision.

Fun, but

This game is quite fun. It’s similar to a lot of games, but it goes about things in a creative way and the card art is pretty stellar.

My biggest gripe, however, is that you cannot pay to skip ads. This game hits you with like 10 “special offers” and even has a subscription service as well as paid calendar rewards. Even if you’re a VIP though, you’re still stuck watching ads which is really unfortunate. I’d be willing to accept the grind a little bit more if the subscription service included skippable ads, but as it stands now, I’m not going to pay $5 a month AND have to stop every 30 seconds just to get a regular amount of rewards or an extra 1 star summon. For such a grindy game, it just comes across as a little extra greedy than your average devs unfortunately…

I don’t even mind that like 70% of the special offers are for like $50. I think there’s even one that’s ON SALE for $120. That’s cool for the whales that want to do that. I, on the other hand, am willing to just do the subscription and hit a couple $5-$10 offers when they come… but not with all these ads man… if nothing changes soon, I’ll have to pass on this one which is a shame because it actually is quite fun.

Overall good game but needs some improvement

Overall I enjoy the game, I find the play fun and I expect a bit of a grind, but you eventually hit a wall where it’s almost entirely luck to get passed unless you want to shell out hundreds of dollars on this game.

Between not enough gold drops, arena matchmaking being a complete joke cause it constantly shows you players with deck power twice yours you don’t stand a chance and you’ll be lucky to get more than 2 people you can actually win against unless you want to spend diamonds to constantly refresh, not to mention the AI in this game is a joke and will just Throw matches by attacking with your hero when it really shouldn’t and cards just being inconsistent because I’ve had numerous instances of playing against cards that are just broken when other people use them but when I use them they get immediately one shot by something with less power despite having armor and them not having pierce, and to top off it the cost of leveling is ridiculous and the sparring pit not stacking levels makes it so you have to constantly check it or end up losing time you could be leveling a card up.

Could be great but is far from it. The greed is real

I am trying soo hard to enjoy this game. It has the potential to be amazing. But is so far from it. Its soooooo pay to play. And the bundles they have are insanely over priced i mean they should be ashamed of it. And im sure theres people who pay it unfortunately. Its so hard to make coins in the game that you almost need to buy them to stay caught it. I shamefully bout a $2 bundle once and the coins were gone in seconds. The upgrade option for items so the dumbest thing ever. If i have the money to upgrade said item then it should be upgraded not theres a chance for it to upgrade because for every successful upgrade past level 8 it seems there are 15+ fails which is 15+ amounts of coins wasted. The ridiculously hard coins to get. Gone and used for nothing just like that. Even the missions give you little to no coins. I burn through 57 stamina and get maybe 1200 coins which counts for 4 upgrades maybe once you pass level 10. They are soo greedy with this game it’s unbelievable but believable at the same time because its the truth. I Dont Know how much more i have to give this game. I wouldn’t suggest this game to anyone. But play and learn for yourselfs.

Pay to win game

They are constantly pushing offers on you, the percentage you get for being able to get high end cards is near 1%. It’s almost impossible to get legendary Tokens from challenges and tournaments. They put you up against players that have bought their way to the top of the leaderboard of your bracket so it’s pointless to compete for them. I’ve spent a total of 25-30 dollars on the game and literally feel like it was pointless. To buy a legendary token is around 40-60 dollars depending on the deal and offer at the time. Even then tho you aren’t guaranteed a high end card such as a epic or legendary, because like I said it’s literally a 1% chance. Right now they have a event going on based off of summoning new cards and it literally says the percentage of drawing a legendary went up to 5%! They act Like that’s a huge deal or something. At this point I’ll end up dropping the game for something that isn’t online based because it seems all online based games are pay to win at this point.

Ads by AppLovin can not be exited.

I accept that ads are necessary to progress basically, but consider testing the providers you allow. There’s literally no exit button on ads by AppLovin causing you to have to exit the game. If you plan to make ads a necessary part of your game then make it a smooth process. I have had to question doing ad chests because of this and generally avoid it, but considering it’s an option after every battle aspect of the game it makes it feel essential to progress in any significant manner.
Either iron out the process, or provide an option for skipping the ad process. Either with tokens bought with money/gems/or gold, or an ad free package bought with money. The latter I imagine would never be considered due to the massive loss in ad revenue, so at least the former option. Maybe like 20 ads skips for $5 usd. Whatever you choose do something because this game will likely die too the overwhelming amount of ads needed to gain a reliable amount of rewards.

It’s fun but limits how much you can play

This is a somewhat unique card battle game, and I like the game a lot. But it has a stingy energy/stamina system. Not nearly enough energy to play enough to upgrade your cards. And when you refill your stamina, either from leveling up or paying gems, it only refills up to your max stamina, it never goes over, so you lose out on the stamina that you hadn’t used yet. It’s expensive to refill stamina.

I would pay a few dollars for some way of increasing the max stamina, or ideally even getting rid of the stamina system. No way to do that though, or even to pay to get rid of ads (the ads are all optional, but I’m not going to watch an ad to refill 10 stamina, which only gets me one or two battles)

There are so many in app purchase packs and things you can buy, but they are all expensive, they pop up literally every time you switch areas, and I don’t see any worth buying yet. Seriously they have multiple packs that are $50 and more.

It’s a fun game, and sort of unique in card battles. I just wish I could play it when I want and for as long as I want. I also wish there was something reasonably priced worth buying. It’s just way too stingy of a game. 🥺

Fun, if you like PTW

I’m a fan of this game, I play it a lot and it’s one I don’t really get bored with. In saying that, there are some things that need to be reworked.

1: artifacts- I understand getting rare artifacts is supposed to be challenging/rare pulls. The problem with that is there’s 2 different rarities measurements. So even if I pull a 3 or 4* artifact, it’ll just be common rarity and not make it very valuable to the team. There needs to be a way to combine/ upgrade these rarities like you can with the cards.

2: the gold system is broken. I can’t upgrade my Artifacts unless an offer pops up and I buy the gold. There isn’t a good way to make gold, so upgrading any card/ artifact is a Herculean effort.
3: upgrading artifacts: if your upgrade fails, for the love of everything good, give us at least half the coins back. I just upgraded an artifact from 0 to +12, and it costed me over 50k gold. I’ve been playing this game for 2 months, and I don’t think I’ve made 50k gold from the game alone.
The strategy is the reason I keep playing this game, even when a person has a pay to win team, if they don’t have a good strategy they can be taken out. It makes it feel like you’re always in the fight. This is a good game, and with some more tweaking I think it could be great.

Adds, Dear Sweet Lord…

Great game, easy to grind…if you don’t mind slogging through all the adds. Look, we all know the deal: free game = adds. But holy $#!%, they are relentless. Two games keep popping up, and I won’t go into detail ( a king and a bear who are always in peril ) will play 90% of the time. Almost a minute. EVERY TIME. Usually with some nobody jagoff raving about them, BLEARGH. Now there is a glitch that has the same add playing on repeat. I sat through one THREE times before I just logged off the game completely. I will never play these games just because of the bombardment of these unoriginal and insipid advertisements.
Fun game. Easy to level up, pvp isn’t totally one sided, but you have to suffer through a ton of adds. I hope the King and Bear never survive.

Fun game pay to win

The gameplay is enjoyable if not a bit repetitive, but is more unique than most other card based games, it is easy to spend time on.
But that does not excuse the prices of the packs they offer being up to 130$ or more from what I have seen for things that you can get just playing the game the gem prices are also absurdly high for what you get I would like to get a small gem pack to help with progression but there is no way I can justify the price. Other issue is that some of the cards are un balanced having almost no use for higher tier cards if you have low tier cards that can just cancel them completely all in all good game but the packs look to be very pay to win

By

This game is good over all, but the in game purchase system needs to be changed

I have been playing this game for a solid week and have come to really enjoy it but I noticed a couple of things that could use some work.

First of all, I think that the prices for in game purchases being so high, turns people away from making any purchase at all. If people want to, most are willing to spend 10$ max. This is probably around 90% of people so reducing the prices on the majority of items would bring in even more profit.

Also I believe that obtaining tokens is way harder than it should be. A blue token is almost impossible to get if you don’t have any crystals to buy them with. And achievements and quest give you virtually none. I think that making blue tokens accessible by adds will not only give a way for non paying players to obtain them but it will also keep people more interested and intrigued with the game because people are intrigued by reward. An idea is making the blue tokens 5 adds because the green token is 1.

Over all this game is very good and unique. Devs good job.

A good game, and a recommendation

I really like this game because of how much strategy goes into the card battles and the many ways to build a strong team. If I could improve one thing, it would be the energy recharge. When you collect an energy recharge reward, it immediately goes into effect regardless of how much energy you currently have. I think it would be much better if the energy recharge was an item you could save and use when you do not have enough for a campaign or dungeon battle. It would be much like the arena token recharge item.

My thoughts

I like a lot of aspects about the game, characters, powers, graphics no complaints it is a fun game. But the cost of ascending and the lack of materials you receive for how much you have to play is ridiculous. I also find it to be irritating when trying to upgrade gear and it fails so much for the high cost that it takes. These cost for these things are also a problem as there isn’t any good way to farm coins. So after having spent money to try to get powerful enough to move forward and then still feeling stuck I find myself less wanting to play this game and looking for other options that try to draw the player in better. I still play hoping these things will change but for now it is more of a bore amd find myself rather doing nothing.

Good game and the exact same as the ads

This game is extremely fun! Not only is it addicting but it also the same as the ads. You know that the game is good when it doesn’t have to change the gameplay in the ads to make people want to play it. The games ads showed me a card game that looked fun,and gave me a fun card game. The only way you will not like the game is when you don’t know simple equations. The people who dislike it do not know what multiplication is yet and get mad because they lose from the wrong choice! Great game overall.

By

I’ll write a better review later

Overall I’d give it 4 stars, I’ve paid real money and taken advantage of ads by cleaning and doing actual work to gain items, I’ve played hearthstone, gwent, and magic, and I love this game. Very simple for beginning card members, yet it’s just as much fun for advanced card players. Giving it 5 stars right now just because they gave their players a lot of gold and gems for the disconnects we’ve been having. That was very kind of the developer team.

By

monetization

I thought it was a fun simple concept for a new unique card game. The tutorial is simple and short. Then they decide to forcefully jam ads down your throat to continue through the campaign. Your game should make me want to spend money and support you not jam a 30 second ad in my face and punish me for playing your game. I shouldn’t be forced to spend money to enjoy the game uninterrupted. You have made potentially a great game into a quick uninstall.

Update: I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I purchased the ad removal and was bothered by the stamina system. I figured I’d reinstall a month later and give it another chance. My account was somehow deleted and the restore purchase button did absolutely nothing. Do not waste your time with this greedy game.

By

Fun game, amazing support team

I’ve been playing this game for 2 months and it is a lot of fun. Progress takes time but grind battling and summoning to level up characters is satisfying. The tournaments are fun, had an issue redeeming rewards on the last tournament but I emailed support and they responded quickly and sent the missing rewards to my account. Amazing customer experience alone deserves 5 stars but if you like summoning card games, this will be 5 stars for you too!

Money making scheme for developers

So many pop ups of the game trying to sell you things for money. Come to find out, spending real money is the only way that you can advance in the game. The upgrades on the equipment cost gold and fail more often the higher level it is. Trying to upgrade one piece from level 11 to 12 cost me over 6000 gold and it failed every time and it’s still didn’t upgrade. If you spend the gold which takes forever to accumulate, you should be able to upgrade your equipment. Then if you do spend real money to buy things out of the game, you waste it trying and not succeeding in upgrading equipment or getting multiple duplicates of cards you already have. This game is designed to rip off as much real money as it can to progress in the game. Don’t bother wasting your time and money on this game as you won’t get anywhere.

Love the game! A great addition to the card community

Think about joining our Reddit community r/blackdeckplayers we’ve just started and are already sharing tips on strategy and deck building.
Ive had a lot of fun playing mtg over the years, and it is so nice to get back to the bare bones of the game type. There aren’t millions of cards, but there are enough that it seems like no two decks are the same. They’ve really nailed it when balancing between ease of use and strategic fun! I can’t put the game down, and I really enjoy being part of a community that wants to hone the skill of deck building with me. Come join us!

I enjoy the game but….

Its REALLY REALLY REALLY slow for free players. I’d probably spend a few bucks here and there for some boosters but, the shop offers are SUPER expensive in real money. It’s shocking to me that anyone would spend $50USD on a single package of items to barely improve gameplay odds when you can get an amazing, highly developed XBox game for about the same price. It’s ridiculous. I watch TONS of ads in this game but the ad rewards are very very low. Like, you need to watch a dozen of them for barely any increase. I’ll keep playing. Day by day cause it’s something to do. But I haven’t made any improvement in literally a month. If you’re free to play, I’d say: either expect to move really really slowly or, just go ahead and uninstall. If you’re spending $50 USD every week or more than that….. you’re an idiot. What a waste of money. Is it your mom’s credit card or are you just that rich?? 😂

*update after response from developer:
Your automated response didn’t address a single thing I mentioned. Why even bother responding at all? I’m ok with ads. I use them for little boosts all the time but those boosts are way too low. Watch an ad to turn 180 gold into 300 gold, when you need 50,000 gold? It’s pretty ridiculous. And for the record, when I “watch” the ads I usually put my phone down and go to the bathroom or something 😂

Review of artifacts and deck power

I think the dev should look into the gaming system more, I’ve wasted a lot of coin woke all the night for to upgrade an artifact that still will fail despite many trial I had sell some artifacts, this app is interesting but some challenges I went through to get some token and still can’t get a decent card when I used my token, it getting hard to moved on and I checked in the leagues the queue doesn’t seems like a league I can be into anytime soon with time spent on the game, cause I kept tracked of the leagues I’m in and nothing changed, I’ve been getting whacked by some low decks player over and over since the new update and it doesn’t look like my deck is worst cause they won for me when the other players challenge my card but when I did same I don’t get the same result even against those I’d won a dueled with, please look into the way coins are spent it really blowing up coins account and some other coins can be introduce to make sure we don’t have to always tons of coins to get things done without certainty of getting the upgrade done. And deck power sure seems like it doesn’t mean anything to some players.

Forced tutorial

Stop shoving tutorial down my throat and let me play the game. Stop forcing me to use specific cards and attacking specific cards. Stop forcing me to equip card to deck. Stop forcing me to continue campaign. Let me abandon fights you forced me to start. Stop forcing me to summon cards. Stop forcing me to equip card. Stop forcing me to continue campaign. Stop forcing me to level up cards. Stop forcing me to sacrifice cards. Let me decide which card I want to throw away for stupid level up you shoved down my throat. Stop forcing me to claim daily reward. Let me remove level up from card you shoved down my throat. Let me play the game you show in ads instead of this junk. Maybe actually read what I posted. I didn’t say ads are bad, I said false advertisement is bad. Game does not match what you claim in your ads.

Stop giving canned responses that aren’t even relevant to what I said.

Game is fun. - When I’m actually playing.

First review I’ve ever written for a game because there are a lot of things to like in the actual game play and strategy of setting up your cards. But I spent more time watching ads then actually playing. Signed up for the free trial of the Gold membership and instead of getting the option to skip some ads I got the option to skip battles (the point of games) to get to more ads.

Seriously who decided that a 30-45 second battle needed two 90 second ads to get to any decent rewards. Not to mention the rewards are not oftentimes worth the ad (I.e upper level dungeons still only returning basic gems).

I really do want to like this game but the ads made it impossible to play. Would love to come back when you figure out how to get more play in your game and less ads but until then - I’m out.

Good game, way too much pay to win.

The game itself is solid but the idea that getting legendary cards is next to impossible, let alone how difficult it would be to fully upgrade said cards, is incredibly frustrating. The game is fantastic but y’all really need to loosen up some of the high level stuff, by no means am I saying to just give it away but maybe tournaments and challenges that give you more resources would be nice. Outside of the first little give of the game it seems nearly impossible to get anything of any value without spending large sums of money to just maybe get it and I’m sorry but 50 bucks for 2 legendary tokens with a 90% chance of a non legendary card is just ridiculous. And if all you care about is the money then why not make it a price more people could get behind?
The game has massive potential but it also feels very greedy for those just playing to have fun and not at all geared for those unwilling to pay hundreds of dollars.

The pricing is insane

Tbh I really love the game and the potential is really high. But Jesus Christ the prices on these “deals” is insane and it’s not even worth the value at all. I wouldn’t mind spending 5-10 on a good deal that can be impactful but Jesus Christ this is definitely a pay to win game. Or may I say “Pay a lot” to win game. And I always have to watch so much ads for a little 180 coins. And the artifact upgrade system need to change because if I have enough coins just let me upgrade. And ads take so long for so little rewards.
This game is really a good game but for gods sake please change the pricing on these “deals”they’re way out of touch with reality.
How can 1 5 star card be 100$.No one would realistically waste their money on that.
If this game wants to make money change your prices please. These ads does nothing

Fun game but has issues

Thsi game is honestly great if you like this type of game. But also in just an hour I have gotten 5 network errors even during battles. And it’s not my wifi because no one else is having issues with connection on their devices. The network errors are out of hand.

Also, there’s an issue with rewards in events. Only top 20 get stuff and everyone else gets nothing. If all the high level players get all the good then why participate in the event? At least reward the rest of the players with a little something like gold or something. Gold is hard enough to grind for anyway.

Other than these issues, it’s a great game and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you to the developers for constantly improving the game.
