Ok so I got this game bc I literally LOVE the original board game this app. And I thought “Yay, they finally made a video game for my favorite game”. But when I finally downloaded this… it suuuuucked. Honestly I just wanted to see how good this game was, compared to the original board game, and I have to say there is absolute NO comparison between the two. If I were you I would have never tried to make a video game of the classic board game. The gameplay isn’t really how I thought it would be, it has very poor graphics and gameplay. It was also really confusing and unexciting as to compared to the original. I always love trying out the new Apple Arcade games but this one well… it just wasn’t good. So please developer update this game and change the way that you are trying to make this game. Try to base it more off of the classic this app.

I love this game so much and so I keep trying to play it, but unless you’re happy to only play against AI it’s pretty much non-functional 90% of the time. Bugs I consistently experience: I’m often a ghost in waiting rooms - my name doesn’t show up and I can’t pick a character; the game rapidly jumps from a loading screen to a full waiting room over and over again before fixing itself after about 30 seconds and popping me into an empty waiting room; games stall constantly and can stay that way for anywhere from 5 seconds to 5 minutes and if /when they DO start to work again it’s obvious the other players (justifiably) bailed and have been replaced by AI. These and so many more issues have been reported by players since the game launched and still nothing is fixed. It’s extremely frustrating, because this game would be my favorite hands-down if it would just work. I don’t blame other players for the delays anymore either - I’ve had the game stall on MY turn before and nothing I do will let me play. And developers - please don’t respond asking me to email you. You have so much information in the reviews here that if you could/were willing to fix these glitches, surely you would have by now.

I love this app but the multiplayer games take forever as others have noted. Players are able to hold up the game indefinitely, and it happens every single game. There have been times where I’ve had to wait 15 minutes or longer to move forward with the game and others where I’ve waited up to 45 minutes only to have to quit because the game will not progress. There are numerous glitches, and Clue crashes almost every time it is opened and needs to be relaunched. The issue with the iPhone’s dynamic island blocking player info means I only play on my iPad, and yet even on an iPad it’s necessary to scroll up and down the clipboard when there’s more than enough room to display the entire clipboard at once. The developers have a lot of work to do here. The latest bug is one in which multiple players are able to pick the same character, i.e. there are two Greens on the suspect list and it makes the entire game completely confusing. I am also fairly certain that a game I played yesterday was showing different players different information; both the player before me and I made very similar accusations - and mine was not a guess because I’d ruled everything out - only to be marked wrong on two of the three cards which didn’t make sense with the markings the game itself had made on my clipboard (meaning all red Xs but then being told that card is wrong). Seriously I don’t understand how or why this is so glitchy. It’s 2023. Do better.

It happens A LOT where I’m playing online multiplayer and someone will be away or get eliminated and then they hold up the game forever, making it impossible to play. Example in the game I just had:
Scarlett (someone online) made an accusation and it was wrong. It said they were eliminated from the game. Then it was my turn. I was able to deduce the correct weapon this time so I was ready to make my accusation. But we all got stuck on the screen waiting, right before the final “end turn / make accusation” modal. It wouldn’t go to that modal because it said we were still waiting Scarlett. But they had just gotten eliminated!! It’s so annoying and things like this happen a lot. Just minor bugs that make it insanely frustrating. Especially when you get right to the end of the game and are about to win and then it does that.

This game is pretty awesome. Lovely tribute to the original. I love the automatic tracking of clues, and ability to track with numbers. The play is nice and i love different themes. A couple of glitches, the wild Wild West theme has the mine elevator randomly pop into some of the accusation scenes. There are also loading and buffer delays sometimes. The most frustrating glitch is when you get stuck on online mode waiting to start the round despite leaving and entering back into it you still have the same person who can’t load their game to start. The other frustrating glitch in online mode is when the person guesses wrong so you should be able to continue but the game freezes. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max, with a Terabyte of memory and Verizon as my carrier If that helps you developers.

As others have stated it will crash when opening half the time. The other issue is I only get certain cards shown to me. I will only get the same cards over and over. I am unable to narrow things down. Example…I knew who the person and place was but not the weapon. Well unless I could get into the right room to make it the correct choice, I would be shown over and over the card another player has for that room. In the last round I played, which lasted forever, I eliminated only one weapon but eliminated all other people and rooms. It shouldn’t be you get shown the same card again once you know it’s wrong. Not sure this is making sense but it’s making it hard to be able to win.

I’m liking it so far. I only play single player because I just play to relax and I like playing on my own time. My biggest issue is it’s waaaaaay too easy. I’ve won every single game and it doesn’t seem like the AI characters are even trying. At the end of each game it tells me the level of gameplay the game was and it’s always “easy” or “very easy.” It’s bizarre that I have no option to select the difficulty before the game begins. Am I missing something? There’s absolutely nothing in the settings menu or anywhere else that allows you to change the difficulty. If there’s 0% chance of losing what’s the point??

Clue is so fun. This is the best way to play this app. I’m addicted to Clue. Online is really fun, you get to play real people. The AI is actually really challenging, especially on hard difficulty. Clue is a great reason to stay subscribed to Apple Arcade. I’m rating 4 stars to gain the attention of the devs so they can improve.

I have experienced some issues while playing online. On one round of suggestions, it kept going and hitting red x even after someone stopped it by helping the person by showing them their card. I’m pretty sure this threw me off completely. On that same game, 2 players were allowed to use the Green character but each with a different avatar. So online can be pretty glitchy and even laggy sometimes. That wasn’t the only time I experienced issues online, playing online has a lot of technical issues.

Also it’d be pretty cool if they supported landscape view on iPad and iPad Pro. I would love that.

Other than that, this is a great app that turned me into a this app enthusiast.

I enjoy playing this game to pass the time or when I’m bored. Gets my mind thinking. I love all the different characters and locations. However, the waiting time is ridiculous. This would have been a 5 star if there was a skip option in both single and online play. I was waiting almost half an hour for an online player to decide so I had to quit the game. And when there is 6 players playing, the skip option would be amazing to have instead of waiting for your turn. I’m sure everyone else in the reviews would agree. Overall, super fun game.

Overall, I really enjoy this game. It is very well done in many respects. I’m not into multiplayer gaming, so I’ve only experienced single player mode. There is one bug that happens literally every time I play, and that is my character piece will wind up in a different room than where I left it on my previous turn. For example, if I take a turn in the conservatory, on my next turn it will have me starting off from the kitchen, or any room other than the conservatory. This can be frustrating when I want to go to a specific room but can’t because I’m all the way across the board (when I shouldn’t be) and get a low roll on the dice. This doesn’t happen on every turn, but it does so at least two or three times per game. On the whole, I greatly enjoy the game and I hope the developers fix the bug soon. I will happily change my rating to 5 stars when they do.

I’ve really been enjoying this game so far, and it has been working smoothly for me. I do wish, however, that a few minor tweaks could be made:
1. First, in the notes section, the cards in my hand show a strike-through line, with no ability to add any notations to those squares. I wish that I could add notes, perhaps a star or something, to indicate which cards I’ve shown to which players. I like to keep track of that for several strategic reasons, however, I haven’t found any way to do so within Clue .

2. Second, I’ve noticed that as soon as the final accusation is made, the game ends immediately and there is no way to go back and review any of the notes I’d taken throughout the game. I’d like to have the ability to do that at the end of each game in order to analyze my strategy or attempt to figure out any mistakes that may have been made along the way.

Love the choices of venue and characters. Music, animation style, and intuitive controls are solid; however, could use an option for completely random for online playing so you don’t have to bounce around venues to find enough players which isn’t usually a problem but does come up. Also, animation doesn’t always show which rooms other players had a choice of. Knowing their choices lets me know if they chose the room based on limited options or maybe chose to eliminate a room on their this app card. Also, can there be some sort of long term achievement to the online game? For example, I keep earning points but I don’t see a place for totals, what does it mean to earn more? Can there be a murder mystery arc (a string of games connected somehow?) or something similar? Lastly, sometimes I need to leave an online game, but the only way to leave and not screw everyone over is to make an accusation on my turn and I usually can’t wait. Is there a way you can opt out at anytime and have an npc replace you to not disturb anyone else’s enjoyment.

I just recently downloaded Apple Arcade’s this app app. So far it has been great! There are quite a few map suggestions, which is a very nice feature. Clue is super easy to use and navigate, and the gameplay is exactly like that of the actual board game. The automatic note taking is a very nice feature, as it keeps me from opening my notes and recording everything per turn. There are quite a few character choices as well. That said, the only issue I’ve experienced is that the wait time in between turns can be quite lengthy at times. However, this issue is certainly not a dealbreaker for me. All in all, I think it is a wonderfully done game.

This game was way better than I expected it to be. I’m not bored of it yet, but I do see how I could eventually. I’ve won multiple times on the “very hard” set up, and I’ve played a good amount of online play. I have a couple suggestions/ideas that could keep people playing it for longer. The first is the ability to gain achievements. It gives the player another objective besides just winning the game. The second is the ability to earn coins/dabloons and a store to buy character pictures/cards. That would cause a player to spend more time playing to win/earn more and more coins. People love personalizing things. I understand this game is new to apple arcade. So I wouldn’t be surprised if your team has already thought of these ideas lol. Also, this game already makes the entire apple arcade subscription worth it.

My family adores this game in person so we figured we’d give Clue a try and I am so glad we did! It’s super fun and lets us play together even when we’re far apart so that family game night doesn’t have to wait while daddy’s out of town. This game is a great way to get our kids little minds really working over time with the process of elimination and keeps them engaged. My kids love it and Clue works super well. The only thing that’s kind of annoying is how quickly Clue kicks you from a game if you navigate away from Clue for whatever reason. So if you want to send a text while playing you might be kicked depending on how long it takes you. All in all, i highly recommend the game and will continue to play it for a long time to come!

Overall, this is of so fun game. I love that you get to change the looks of the characters, change different boards, and play by yourself.
But I have a problem every time I hit “play online/play with friends” it does nothing. Literally nothing. it is like hitting a button that does nothing. This is something that I’m not liking. It’s a really big problem. I can’t even play with other people on my phone it worked when I used my mom’s iPad (I played with her) but it’s not working with my phone. So can you please fix this? It is a really big problem. I still like the game. So goodbye!

I have been a long time lover of the board game and when I saw that they came out with a Mobil Game from Hasbros I needed to check it out and it does not disappoint. There is so many different themes and settings to choose from which include The Wild West, A Venicine Masquerade, and a spooky old Vampire Castle. You also get a lot of fun new icons and new costumes to fit all the new themes. The Graphics are also phenomenal with it looking so colorful and all the aesthetics matching perfectly. I can not stress enough for you to buy this game with no hidden frees(literally no fees or hidden catches), NO ADS, and a lot of fun.

Hiya! I’ve always been a big fan of the this app game, and was really happy they came out with one on Apple Arcade, not to mention with new characters and locations! I have no complaints at all, just a few suggestions. First of all, can you add a location and new character outfits that are medieval themed, like a castle and the new costumes are knights and princesses and stuff? Maybe a weapon could be dragon fire, and there could be new Merlin and Arthur characters? Second, you should do a Pass-and-Play feature, so that I can play with my friends and family around me. Most people I know don’t have an Apple Arcade account. Third, you should be able to make your own characters, weapons, locations, etc. thanks for listening to my suggestions! I’ll suggest more when I think of them!

The game has many fun features such as different boards, multiple choices for most of the characters, difficulty setting, and you can play online or with friends.

The game does crash when first starting up once in awhile but I open it again and it works just a fine. But I understand this can be expected when a game first comes out due to bugs. Only thing I would change is added instructions area. There is instructions for the tutorial but it could be helpful if you forget.

I LOVE this game and play all the time! I love the graphics and the different characters and game boards. Super fun. And the scorecard is really great how you can take notes and stuff. Would it be possible to make an undo button on the scorecard though? There are so many times when I accidentally hit the wrong square to write my notes because the boxes are so small and then I have to manually undo what I just did. Sometimes I’m in the zone and trying to write down three things really fast so I can’t remember what mistake I just made. It would be way easier if you could just hit undo. Anyway, thanks for the game!!!
