when I first started using MyCollection , it seem to work really well. it got going. The rhythm was really nice and it could scan and say really quick. was hoping that I would be able to scan my entire collection but after reaching over 1000 comics the application wouldn't restart. I updated and tried and tried, and it just will not start back up again. Upon scan and I had high hopes of MyCollection was gonna be easier to get it done. oh well I guess I'll move onto something else and start all over. 😢

I’ve been cataloging my collection recently with HipComic. From the start I had problems staying connected to their servers; waiting for my collection to load, waiting to load a single comic from another collector just to view it, and slow to scan. For the past 2 days I haven’t been able to use MyCollection at all. I can’t get any data to load. Home page, my collection, scanning… MyCollection shows a basic blue page with the logo then goes to a full black or white screen no matter what I try to do. And best of all: NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT OR CONTACT OPTIONS.

I was excited at first and started scanning in my entire collection. I ran into some problems with whole series not showing up (Batman Incorporated, Batman and Robin), but I persevered and use the manual entry function to placehold. Now MyCollection stops and cycles through the first screen when opened. I considered deleting and reinstalling but I was warned by MyCollection that all data would be deleted with MyCollection . That’s 10ish hours of scanning down at this point! I have my fingers crossed that MyCollection will magically fix itself, but it’s been 3 days now and I’m losing hope. Be forewarned about sinking your time in. It’s a Beta.

I’ve used a couple collection apps in the past and this is by far the easiest to use. The scanning tool is super easy and works 80-90% of the time. My only issue is that it seems to have a hard time recognizing newer comics or variants. It almost never recognizes unique or special variants. There’s some other QoL things that could be added that would make it a perfect app which I submitted to the company already. But definitely worth using now for simple collection management.

Prices are off, when booting MyCollection sometimes it takes several minutes sometimes it also just keeps flashing a white screen as if refreshing then seems to be loading but after another several minutes nothing happens.

Scanned over 700 comics this weekend. I have 2 Batman 457 from 1990 and the weird thing is that my first prints have value of like $30 but the second print option has values of $600… is this correct?
Second problem is my Todd McFarland Spider-Man #1 from 1990 has no value from Hip.
When I have several special edition comics that came pre-bagged like Robin l and Robin ll that MyCollection has a difficult time scanning and finding.

The way MyCollection works is great! The scanning feature is by far the easiest way for beginners to understand more about whatever comic they are looking at. A few things needs updates though. MyCollection takes FOREVER to get up and going and I typically have to restart MyCollection several times and wait minutes before it’s working. Most newsstand editions do not have any pricing so you’ll have to do your own research on those. The biggest issue to me is the lagging start up. If this could be fixed it would be the best app on the market for beginners collectors!

Come on guys, provide an update that fixes the devastating bug already!!! By far the best free app for recognizing most titles and variant covers. All with the ease of taking a picture in MyCollection . Many great features. The only issue I really had was it doesn’t adjust the value for being slabbed.

Like many other users, I scanned a few hundred comics, and was quite happy with MyCollection… THEN it stops working altogether. FATAL BLOW. I’ve been checking back for months hoping for an update to fix this and allow me to continue adding my collection.

The apps recognition abilities are great and I look forward to seeing the tech development. It seems the pricing is off but that can be fixed later. Great for quick scanning and adding to your collection and to be able to see other people’s collections.

It is confusing when you scan an issue, some versions pop up with a star (⭐️) next to the quality. Is that MyCollection ’s estimated quality version?

Looking forward to it adding more trade back recognition in MyCollection .

I love MyCollection honestly. I usually buy comics because I love the cover and want to have to read it later. My collection is mainly half and half. So a nice mix of older comics and new releases. The older comics have no problem for adding and pricing. When it comes to the newer ones it does take a bit long to update to have the info for it. So I have about half of my collection not in MyCollection . Also the latest app is glitchy now on my phone(iPhone) I hope the next update fixes that because I do love MyCollection a lot because it is a fun way to keep my collection in order. This has also reduced my buying since I won’t be repeating some purchases.

App honestly works great when it works. Im new to comic bools so I have no idea how accurate pricing is or anything like that but the interface is great. When it works…

MyCollection crashes a lot and sometimes it'll go days before the home screen even loads in-app. Ive had a little more luck using MyCollection on an iPad air over my iPhone but still buggy.

Hoping that full version comes out soon and its not just a beta version

First, let me start with saying that I am currently not paying attention to grading and pricing within MyCollection . I’m just trying to get my collection uploaded somewhere as easily as possible.

More often than not, MyCollection excels at what I need it to do. Sometimes a book doesn’t show up properly (or sometimes even at all, especially new books), but it detects the book well most of the time.

The biggest issue I face is MyCollection loading correctly when I open it. A lot of times, it seems like MyCollection is too large for the screen and is stuck loading/buffering. I give it plenty of time to right itself (and, occasionally, it does), but it often just stays that way no matter what I try. The only true resolution I’ve found is to uninstall and reinstall it. But that’s too much work.

As a concept, MyCollection is great. Scan a comic’s cover and it detects its title, number, year, authors, condition, price, etc. An extremely useful tool for collectors. I’m predicting it will get better and better and probably be the go-to app for comics, if it’s not already.

I haven’t checked yet, but I hope there’s some sort of offline report-generating feature. That would be fabulous

I’m glad to have found it and highly recommend it to any/all collectors.

Hi I truly enjoy the hip app it’s a great addition to my collection experience. Just wondering when will we get a new updated version and will we be getting a version that shows the prices of our collection trending up or down . As well as if that is updated will it pull up our latest highest expensive comics to the front of our display center. Sorry for the long review but just hope that we get a update soon until then I will be loyalty using MyCollection thank you

Hello, my name is Adam and I love MyCollection. I love putting down my comics and seeing how much my comics are worth. I love being able to see other people’s collection and them being able to like my comics. The only problem I have with MyCollection is when it actually lets me use it. A majority of the time I can’t even get into MyCollection . When I click on MyCollection , it loads and then I am on a blank blue screen. I wait and wait and it would let me do anything. I try to refresh it many times and it doesn’t seem to work. I think it is a bug.

So many times I’ve run across a comic at a convention and couldn’t remember if I already owned it. Since I’ve begun uploading photos of all my comics to catalog them, MyCollection has become very handy to have when digging through comic boxes. It provides results most of the time but it misses a few (the EC Comics reprint books from Gladstone in the early 90’s weren’t here). What would make MyCollection even better is if they provided some analytics like the publisher whose books you own the most of, favorite character based on the number of books you logged, etc. That way you could easily locate anyone else on MyCollection who shares your interests.

I found MyCollection to be incredibly helpful and informative! It has helped me log my comics and find the value of each individual issue, some of which were far more valuable than I ever knew! MyCollection offers a great way of organization as well, which is something I found very difficult with the great number of comics that I own.

I have had nothing but great things to say about MyCollection . However, when I try to enter MyCollection now, it seems to buffer for a moment before refreshing entirely, only to buffer again and then repeat the same process. I’m hoping there is an update coming soon to fix this? I find MyCollection very helpful towards strategically purchasing comics.

MyCollection is very good at recognizing most books. Out of about two hundred, it got most of them correct. I would say it works about 90% of the time. It gets confused on similar looking covers, like Marvel Hip Hop variants.

Quite a few books don’t have values, I guess because they haven’t sold recently on the platform. Others have some outdated prices, probably for the same reason. Pretty accurate pricing, though, for the most part.

I suggest adding a feature where we can manually type in a title and select a book to add manually for instances that the pictures don’t get recognized. Other than that, MyCollection is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Oh, and occasionally I have to restart MyCollection a handful of times to get it to start up correctly.

I love the concept and ease of use but it seems to have problems recognizing some second prints and exclusive variants. I would also like to see tabs for entering more info about graded slabs. Lastly it would be great to be able to enter a location of what box the comic is in or stored location. Thanks.

I have been waiting for a platform to enable managing my collection like this for years. The fact that you already have trade paper backs and collections added as a capability is amazing.

Obviously I would like to see CGC and CBS recognition added, included banners such as signed or restored. However I already know you’re working hard at it.

I love MyCollection and the concept of it as well. Problem is it only works 10% of the time. It just stays locked in the start up page.
Update:
The development team contacted me and shared that a quick uninstall and then reinstall fixes the problem… And it did. It’s great app and I appreciate the developers getting back to me.
