Anytime I try to use the location feature to find repeaters around me, it shows a list no where near me. Searching by the repeater name shows 6.4m away, so why doesn’t this show up when I use the location feature? Poorly designed app.

Back before the new update, when you clicked on a repeater, it listed the data next to a subheading so you know what each entry was. It made the information more detailed for new users.
Similar to how “Sota locator” looks, but also more like “Repeater locator”, with each entry centered next to its description.

It would be nice to be able to see repeaters out of your area. For example to program a mobile prior to a trip. How about a watch interface as well. Both of these improvements would jump my review to 5 stars.

RepeaterBook has improved continually and is recommended. Unfortunately there is the issue of reliable updates to ensure accuracy and a better search and find process to identify repeaters within bands and service types. While the search function is huge leap it’s still hard to rely on because of having to first check off service and band types which are unknown to begin. I recommend the use of color to separate FM DMR etc. Readers can submit new found repeaters.

It’s definitely a decent app for finding repeater info, but it’s missing a lot of info for DMR repeaters that’s available on the listings on the this app site. It would be fine if each listing had a link to the full listing on the website, but without that, it’s worthless for DMR use.

RepeaterBook itself is pretty good, gets you off all the ads on the website. However, the text for each repeater doesn’t include the range. When traveling, I still end up having to use the website. Last thing I want to do is program in a repeater for an area and have the repeater only have a 5 mile coverage when I could have picked one that has 45 miles! I’ve chosen poorly.

RepeaterBook gets the job done, but the layout, colors, etc, could be much easier to read/use.

This is a great app for every radio and scanner operator but right now there happens to be a problem, it is not showing 2 meter repeaters that are close, I know of two local repeaters that are normally on RepeaterBook but the only way to see these repeaters is to search the frequency to see them, besides that it always works

I gave it four stars because I would love to see ‘CLUB’ Repeaters highlighted in organe or yellow. Most of the repeaters work as advertised but you don’t know which one belongs to a club especially on a long road trip? 🤷♂️ That would be a nice feature to add. Just my opinion/thoughts.

Very useful app, I love that it doesn’t require a data connection to use and located the nearest repeaters based on GPS location. Helpful when in a new area and need to find a repeater close by to talk into.
I do wish it had a search feature however to look up nearby repeaters either by frequency or by call letters.
Other than that a wonderful app.

RepeaterBook works offline, which is in keeping with the spirit of Ham radio. I’ve only used it for a few months, but it works very well for me. Support requests have also been addressed very quickly.

This is a must need if you are a ham radio operator or just listening to your scanner! I could never figure out the names of our local repeaters, now I have all of them and more! I have put up a repeater recently and am waiting for RepeaterBook to be updated so it will show my station, last update was 2 months ago, also, sometimes words will run off of the screen if a title is too long, otherwise, it’s a great tool!!

This is a must have for any HAM. You can use RepeaterBook anywhere in the country to find a repeater near you. Set the range out further for a road trip and find the repeaters in your direction of travel. The information is very accurate.
This is a great way to meet new people and work repeaters around the country. It’s good for your local area too. Maybe you were not aware that someone had a 10 meter repeater not too far from you.
Share RepeaterBook with other people so they can enjoy it as much as you will!

The man is doing us a favor and not charging us a dime. Be respectful and thankful. If you think you can do better, then do so. Until then, he has my admiration and appreciation.

RepeaterBook should be in every Ham’s app list. Once loaded, read the “About” section to see the power of this tool. I recently thought something wasn’t working correctly and emailed the developer. A quick response had me correct a setting I had turned on regarding nets. This is one of my favorite apps on my phone and use it regularly. Thank you!

I had to uninstall previous version to install this new completely updated version. There are some errors in the data but those are rare.

I use RepeaterBook quite often! Super handy for camping trips or car rides to quickly locate repeaters. Straight to the point and useful! Highly recommend!

I was so pleased to find RepeaterBook. I’ve used the web site to find repeaters in my area, but RepeaterBook is so much more convenient. I really like being able to select different bands and systems. I HIGHLY recommend RepeaterBook!

RepeaterBook is built to find repeaters and do it fast. It meets that goal perfectly, and with the new UI improvements, does it in style. I’m a big fan of the new dark mode, and the developer has done a good job of implementing it here.

I loved this app before...but the new update is amazing! Lot cleaner than it was before and easier to use. The only thing I would suggest is putting names for each field when you click on a repeater like it was on the old version. I know what each field is, but for a new-comer it might be a little difficult to figure out. Great job on this update!

So the author now has added the ability to find repeaters using grid squares. You have got to be kidding. So now you need to look on a map using an archaic way of finding where a county or some logical geographic location is in order to locate repeaters. One star.
Previous review:
App has been through several updates but still has the same problem. While the database appears to be reasonably accurate, RepeaterBook still defaults to using my gps location to find repeaters. I cannot choose a location to search for repeaters. If I'm traveling to a town 300 miles away I don't want to wait until I get there to locate repeaters. RepeaterBook should have a way for the user to optionally enter a starting location instead of defaulting to your GPS. Lost a star.😫

App doesn't allow the user to look ahead while traveling. It inly displays repeaters based on your current GPS location.
Another flaw is that you MUST have an internet connection. If your cellular connection is on ‘E’ for emergency use only -or- if you have no network, you cant locate any repeater information

I really like both RepeaterBook and the website for finding and tracking repeater status. the effort of the volunteers to keep the database up to date is appreciated
