Longman Dictionary of English Reviews

Suggestion 1. It is too hard to access the word information, verb table, and thesaurus, which are all hidden under the "i" button. Those information are so useful, and the design makes me feel inconvenient in comparison to the LDOCE5. I suggest to move those information to the very top of the interface.
Suggestion 2. The status bar is all-black when using LongmanDictionaryofEnglish . At least shows the time and the battery.

Other than these, I think LongmanDictionaryofEnglish is pretty robust. But before you fix it, I will still suggest others to stay on LDOCE5.

I’ve been using LongmanDictionaryofEnglish for a long time. The last update took away all the searching options. We used to be able to search idioms, expressions and phrasal verbs but now, the only available search option is the head word.
And now, this new version is literally broken. The definitions are not complete. They aren’t even finished, let alone defining! It seems like a huge bug, and has made LongmanDictionaryofEnglish almost entirely useless. As a user who paid A LOT for LongmanDictionaryofEnglish years ago, I’m not satisfied AT ALL.

I just don't know why you thought there is a need for a 6th edition. The 5th was the best of all. It was actually my favorite dictionary and now regret that I bought this poor one. Less content. Also, If I want to l want to know about a word info I have to click, then a stupid notification pops up and say something around "do you want to see the word information?" Well, hell yea I want to.
The layout is not at all user-friendly. I wish there was zero stars, because one star is a lot for it.

LongmanDictionaryofEnglish has always been very informative and user-friendly, but Right after the latest update, whenever I search a word and it starts defining, half of the definition sentence is missing. The example sentences, however, are there and correct. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Im using this dictionary for years, honestly speaking, LDOCE was much better and simpler, i need the quick access to collocations and phrasal verbs . I hope in new update we’ll be able to have a quick access to the phrasal verbs.

Newer versions are meant to be better and improved not worse and abbreviated. The previous version was much better, heavily loaded with information and entries and updated on regular basis. Now, even the definition of some words can’t be read unless you copy the word to clipboard and paste it somewhere else. There is no reference to synonyms or antonyms; to mention but a few. People responsible for such an update must be questioned. l’m bitterly disappointed.

Best dictionary in my opinion, but unfortunately it doesn't work for my 32bit iPhone 5, with iOS 10.3.3 version.
I'm using the last version of the map and don't know what to do more
I cant go back to previous versions too.
I'm really sad

This dictionary has very limited vocabulary, I used to get longman perhaps a year or two ago with better vocabulary, then I had a new phone, all of a sudden I couldn’t find the old longman, mistakenly, i downloaded this dictionary and purchased the service, it does not worse the money at all. Not even close to what I expected from it.
Don’t waste your money on this one!

All works fine for me and the good point is that it's completely offline. Although speaking the sentences needs internet connection

this version has a terrible resolution on iOS10, and this is unbearable to iphone view. Please fix it. But, the content is still good enough to use, 3 stars were given to this part.

Thanks for updating LongmanDictionaryofEnglish . But yet, when I use the “back arrow”, it turns to the search page, not to the previous word.

After the latest update it doesn’t work well

Hi by all my family we tried to find a word like Eccentric but it didn’t work. Thanks to God that I have not deleted the last version LDOCE+ (5) but the question is that why you deleted the last version? So why you don’t support the new version even update. I thought that you either sensitive or supportive for your customers by taking this amount of money.

Please give a option for saving bookmarks on email or other format

I had some issues with latest update and they fixed it very fast

It used to be the best application that I have ever paid this much and been satisfied about; meanings, examples, everything, But they neglected to update it for more than 2 years, and it literally doesn’t fit the screen of iphone X or even the plus phone. So unless they release an update for it, don’t even think about purchasing it 🤯🤯🤯🤯😒

Hi I have problem in my application after update it's . In new version after each searching for another word search I must restart my app again and I can’t search without restart my app

It doesn't work after I backup my iPhone to my computer! I try search words but every word I search cannot be found. Also, it doesn't give definitions of the words I saved or bookmarked as favorites. Please solve that issue! Thank

Most of the sentences are spoken in British. Is it possible to just speak in American English? Allow to select American English link?

If developers can make this possible. It will be 5 stars.

7/8/18 APPS Crashed in OS 11.4. Need help!

I've bought LDOCE6 for iOS and installed it on both iPad and iPhone .Everything is Ok in iPhone app, but I see some problems in the iPad app :

1) There is only "landscape screen mode" in the iPad app. It's difficult to use LongmanDictionaryofEnglish only in a "landscape screen". Many users prefer to use in a "normal screen, not landscape".
2) Pronounce of a word (U.K or U.S) does not work in the iPad app and I don't hear any voice after touching that !

So please solve the iPad app problems.

Unfortunately in recent update, sentences do not appear fully even if the user scrolls the page or widens it. Please make another update for the software. I am using this on iPhone 6s and have got some issues regarding using this software.
