UPDATE: I changed my review to 5 Star. Even though I am unhappy with having to pay $20 a year after I already paid for Pro, this is a really good app! I wish the fonts was bigger on the 7 day forecast so I hope that is fixed soon. The ability to save the animated icons don’t work with switched to Instagram. UpDATE: Developers don’t care if you paid for the previous Pro version. They want more money for new revision. Previous users should be grandfathered in. The new version icons are so small barely can see. I have been a Pro user of InstaWeather for years and now Weathershot is changed to a different name and I had to pay again?!?! I should not have to pay $20 a year when I paid for Pro already. Also, the forecast options are missing on this new version.

I have been a paying customer for many years and have found no other apps that offer such a nice selection of weather skins that can be used for social media or photo journals. The subscription price is quite steep for an app that’s just for fun, so you’d at least think that the Customer Support would be good. Unfortunately for the last 2 years when my subscription renews (& is paid for), I’ve lost the premium features and it has taken nearly a month to get the developer to respond and finally correct the problem. Weathershot itself is 5-star, but sadly the high subscription price & slow customer service bring the rating down.

We're supposed to be able to use camera roll photos, but every time I try to use one, the date, time, and temp defaults to where and when the photo was taken. So I'm trying to use a pic from a few months ago, and it says Wednesday 3pm 80F when it's Thursday 8am and 60F. I keep trying to change it but it won't change to the current time and date and temp. I like Weathershot, but I can't go run outside and take pics just to get the most current and accurate info. I'm in FL. It doesn't matter if my palm tree pic is from today or last month. All seasons look the same! Is this a bug or am I just not able to use camera roll photos as pics for my current weather pic? ;(

I had previously purchased the premium version of Weathershot. Last year, they changed it so only the original templates could be used, then asked $9.99/month (A MONTH!) to use the templates I had previously had access to via premium purchase. Today I logged in and they’ve further locked down to only ONE template I can use without being hijacked for $9.99/month. (The rest of those templates in the original collection are equally boring, which tells me they’re desperate for cash). Developers: if you’re so hard up you have to hold users hostage for it via steep endless monthly charge versus raise capital through VC, you’re not a (financially) stable platform. Taking my photos elsewhere.

I’ve been a WeathershotPro user and had already paid for the previous pro versions. But now they are switching to subscription system for skins! Well, I suppose they should come up with more attractive skins or functions in order to keep users to subscribe for the service. And as for users like me, who already had paid for pro version(s), I believe the company should grant some kind of grace period in order to compensate for the already paid users. I, myself, would not subscribe to use the skins... and honestly I felt betrayed as paying system changed and not considering the pro users!!!

I had Weathershot everlasting years ago when i thought it was less expensive🤔. I also thought I only signed up for one month but to my surprise there was a little over a $20 charge for an annual acct on my Apple acct. these are the only reasons for the three stars right now. I don’t travel much but I live on Nantucket and so do 3 of my four children so why would I leave? I’ll review again after looking under the hood and playing around a bit. Hoping to take more pictures this year also hopeful that this may help✌️

I recently paid for an upgrade to unlock all the premium features of Weathershot before Weathershot was updated and changed its name. My payment unlocked all of the overlays for all of the seasons and weather conditions. I was very happy with Weathershot . Then a couple weeks later Weathershot did an update and I lost everything I had paid for and now it’s changed to a yearly subscription of $20 a year? There is no way I would pay that much for an app like this after I already paid to unlock everything before. The new overlays aren’t nearly as nice as the old ones either.

This used to be a great app. Then they changed everything so much I didn’t even recognize Weathershot after the change. They could and should have just left Weathershot alone and launched a new app instead of this. They also changed to a subscription model which for me is a 100% deal breaker. I deleted Weathershot and now I’m looking for alternatives. After seeing some of the developer responses to negative reviews I can see they have gone off the rails. To potential customers out there I would highly recommend passing on Weathershot.

I dislike developers who are asking you to pay for a Pro version and then change their pricing model, mainly pushed by Apple which takes its percentage on each sale, and ask you to pay again.

So you have to pay again and again, so greedy you are guys. I’d would rather pay for each new version, than paying $20 just for a bunch of skin that I can get free from the web or that I can make myself with any other photo apps.

I’ve been a Weather Pro customer for many years. Now I understand they CHANGED Weathershot with more features. Okay no problem. I downloaded Weathershot from my cloud in Weathershot Store. Launched Weathershot , attempted to sign in with my Apple ID as well as Facebook and NOTHING. I entered my User Name, read the Terms even used my email address and it WON’T take me to the next screen. Frustrating app anyone else having issues????

The forecast data does not update for most skins. Skins will show the current weather. And the weather for the forecast is stuck in the weather at the time of the conversion to this app from the previous app. This is very frustrating if the problem is not fixed soon I will not be renewing next year. I have found no way to edit the data. All location services are on. It’s definatly not gonna be 19° in Louisville Kentucky on June 3rd.

I have tried every button in Weathershot but haven’t figured out how to save or share a weather update. I am using the free version and if one can only save and share by buying premium, Weathershot is gone...

All of a sudden Weathershot started crashing both on my iPhone and my iPad. Love Weathershot , hope you can fix the problem in your next update.

Glad for an ipgraded app but not happy I have to pay again since I bought WeathershotPro. And it’s getting a little pricey.

I had premium version. I won’t support the subscription model that’s all the rage today. App does NOT pull photos from Camera Roll (iPhone) with no option to choose the roll. Bad! Fonts are smaller. Doesn't look like their slick marketing photos.

I bought Weathershot a few years ago and after the developers change the name because Facebook asked for all cias change who have been used “INSTA” in Weathershot ’s name, I don’t have anymore Weathershot, the old name was Instaweather and now the name is this app, neither Apple nor the developers has a solution for this case. And the developers want that I make a new purchase, It’s unacceptable!

I simply use Weathershot for work - as a day and weather stamp on the photo of my location that day. $20 increase over prior years is ridiculous. If I was in the market for an app of this type I would not spend nearly $40 for one.

Weathershot had an update that changed everything and wiped out all the in app content that I paid for. I used to love the classy weather overlays - now they just have corny graphics and simple cheesy emojis. What happened??? Totally not worth buying the new content. Way to rip off your users. If I could rate no stars I would.

I bought Weathershot outright a couple years ago but then the developer changed to a subscription model and takes away functionality even from the paying customers. Bad!

Weathershot is pretty good. I like it. Unfortunately, GIFs doesn’t work on Facebook. Would love to have GIF working. It does work when saved in my photo album but not on FB. Trying to decide if I should subscribe after free trial ends next week. 🤔

Dear developers, have you actually tried to use Weathershot? It’s horribly user unfriendly! Now it only gives me general location, the overlays are uninspired and you expect people to pay $20 a year for a poorly designed app. Shame on you! Change it back to the original design.

After you purchase a premium account all the new stickers and won’t load. You uninstall Weathershot go to hit the restore purchases button and nothing. Contact them and they say purchase another subscription. Customer service is not a strong point with this company.

Forced you to jump into trial even w/o any approval then credit card shows up the bill even if one week later. If you didn’t pay attention on your email then you got charged one week later. I will have to cancel my credit card too. Very tricky app!!!

I paid for the previous version to be a pro. Not after the update, they changed the name (Instaweather) and are charging for the a different App. For sure Weathershot was sold to another developer and who paid before LOST their money. Apple should stop this practice.
PS: 1 star is for the attitude. For the previous App I give 3 stars.

I paid for the pro version. I understand adding new features or skins and not making those available, but to lock me out of the previous pro features is ridiculous.

Not just that but $20 a year for this!!?? (After 1 year at $10) is ridiculous.
