The older version of LExp was simple and such a joy to use. The new version is complicated and convoluted, must have been designed by an engineer and not a user. Some features and info are nice additions, but the New interface is a downgrade in my opinion. None the less, thanks to Lee Filters for even having an app, It does make life easier.

This would be 5 stars if the timer would work in the background. But if you switch to a different app, or the iPhone goes to sleep, the timer stops!

So you can use LExp to calculate the exposure, but use the iOS Clock app (which includes stopwatch and countdown timer) to time the exposure. Works great, and you can check email or put the iPhone to sleep, and timer keeps running.

There is a problem with the stacked flters timer, when the iPhone goes to sleep, the timer stops working, it should keep working in the background and wake the phone with the 20 sec waening.

Very useful and very easy to use. Only one complaint, no reset on the timer for stacking ND filters. I hope this fixed in the future.

Not just a calculator. Excellent multitool with lots of professional tools for many photo/video needs. Important - each instrument has own very informative and helpful HELP menu, as well as a learning base. Beside that - quick, professional and friendly customer support. Highly recommended and huge respect to authors and developers!

Want to photograph star trails? You need to know the settings for your camera. LExp is where you will find them. An intuitive interface gives you the calculations for all kinds of nature subjects such as aurora photography, and lunar imaging. Now all you need is a reliable camera, proper clothing, and a sense of adventure.

No serious landscape photographer should go on a shoot without LExp. It takes the mental gymnastics out of calculating camera adjustments necessary to achieve the best creative results using ND filters and long exposures.

LExp is great for any novice that needs information on shooting anything you can think of. It has full tutorial on how to use your filters. Something I never find online.
LExp is fully extendable and capable for any situation. It maybe a heavy price for some but add in the tutorials and information this would easily put the value higher but everything is at your finger tips.

I am professional nature and landscape photographer and this application is must have for me. I often use it for caculating exposure for star trails images and still stars too. I don't use ND filters but ND grad filters calculator is also very usefull. Other strong side of LExp - very good documentation and great library of usefull links on photography resources.

This is a great tool to use for night photography and blurred or frozen motion. Goes into great detail to explain how to capture stars across several popular techniques. I love LExp.

A very informative app with a lot of information about the "right" settings for various situations.

I have two other exposure apps that work well, but app has it all. Comprehensive and simple to use.

this app is an exceptional photography tool that provides a series of handy calculators to optimize camera settings for a variety of landscape, nighttime and tripod-based captures. LExp is extremely easy to use and for less experienced photographers, provides well-written documentation and explanations of the features and function of each calculator. Even though I know most of the rules covered by LExp , the calculators include a number of additional elements that are camera (e.g., high-res) or condition (moon shots in clear vs. hazy conditions) specific to optimize your exposures.
Would love to see an Android version for my phone and auto-rotate for LExp since I typically use my iPad on a keypad stand.
