Go Metro LACMTA Official App Reviews

I am a regular ride for the metro (train and bus) system and I would recommend to all my friends who have complained about the brutal commute to and from work. I thought GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp would provide me with more real time and updates regarding the bus arrival time so I can correctly figure out a time to leave my house versus standing at the bus sign for over 20+ minutes for its arrival, which it does not. I also wish GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp would allow me to reload my card versus taking me to the site and have the reloaded dollar amount be available immediately. I have instances where I reloaded online using my credit card but it was unavailable yet when I hopped on the bus which caused the ugly embarrassing honk sound for rejection so I had to walk 5+ miles to the train station to activate the card since the fare is ready up to an hour at the rail stations versus 24-48 hours for the busses.

All in all, I deleted GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp immediately after I downloaded because it does not provide me with the information that I need. Please fix your metro system app for all the riders that use this public transit in Los Angeles!

I highly recommend Transit • Bus & Subway Times by Transit App, Inc. instead because GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp is a complete joke! At the time of this review, there is no live data showing where the Green Line trains are located and the arrival times are constantly way off. GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp frequently freezes and needs to get restarted. I have been using GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp for a long time and it doesn’t seem to improve, it actually seems worse now than when I first got it. GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp does quite the opposite of encouraging people to embrace public transportation and is a complete disgrace.

Get Transit • Bus & Subway Times by Transit App, Inc. because at the time of this review, live train location data appears to be working and each time it says a train is arriving - lo and behold, there’s the train! It’s not rocket science and these guys did it right! I’m really upset with Metro because I voted for measures to better fund them. I’ve also begun paying for parking that used to be free. If this is the best they can do, well, I don’t know what to say other than they should be ashamed of themselves.

I downloaded the metro app and i put in a starting point and a destination, and it would not give me any metro buses to take! It would only suggest commuter express and DASH buses... no metro at all! It was also telling me to take different route hat would take like 3 buses when I could take 1 metro bus there instead!! Y call this the metro LA app when it suggests to take Commuter Express and DASH buses?
PLUS... GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp is not even accurate on the actual live time the bus will be there. For example in google maps it tells you if it’s going to be late or early or on time. But the metro app DOESN’T AT ALL!! If I were the creator of GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp, I would make it equivalent to google maps, if not better. But GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp is literally trash.

I’ve only had minor problems with GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp and it is a little slow but today it completely crashed on me I haven’t been able to see ANYTHING arriving at any stop

GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp is a complete epic fail crashes, freezes, the loading ends up in crashing, and when finally starts to work simply won’t load anything. Better use Moovit I didn’t the previous reviews cause I have use this 10 yrs ago but my son needed directions on bus to work and oh my God Siri gives you more accurate information or google or this other amazing app Moovit —> 45,527 on best app ever won’t lie I’m a very good on using reviews but this time I thought was like before maybe 10 yrs ago was great no is horrible. This is a no go app. Use this :

It is literally the buggiest app I have ever used. Some busses don’t even show up on the map properly, or at all. Times are super messed up, overall not intuitive at all. Like the google maps and Apple maps apps work so much better than literally the official metro app. How embarrassing. The old version was already horrendous to use but at least it kinda worked, although the UI was super out of date. Like you might as well use Flappy Birds to tell you times for the bus, cause somehow the will be more accurate. I am a 16 y/o iOS developer and I am ashamed of how poorly someone put effort into this.

And you can tell Metro doesn’t care about GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp since they haven’t updated it in over a year.

The colors for the stations don’t match the color of the lines. For example the red line has purple circles. If you use the trip planner it actually doesn’t tell you what station to get off at. It just tells you to start walking.

GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp had me get off a train 1.2 miles from my destination. I didn’t know the area and it didn’t tell me how far my destination was. it claimed I had a 6 minute walk. Turns out there were two more stops that I could’ve taken that would’ve put me within a quarter-mile.

You will get lost. DO NOT USE THIS crAPP.

GOOGLE MAPS IS ACCURATE, and tells you where to walk to and from stations and is intuitive.

GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp isn’t intuitive, crass graphics, poorly designed, lags in loading info and takes forever to get/find what you need.
Being a designer, daily commuter and have worked for municipal entities, I know this was poorly made and Metro only goes for the lowest/second lowest bidder. They’ll probably never look at this as their evaluation is more on budget and “checking boxes” for an app. I used to believe in public entities but LA shows how they perpetually fail to see issues of everyday people.

Since loosing my car in an accident I’ve had to Uber almost every where the first few days then I’ve found it more convenient and economical to use the bus. Yet GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp seems to want me to spend more money and go way out of my way to get to work. I’ve used google map and it’s given me only on bus line that takes me directly to my destination, yet when I look in GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp it gives me 4 - 5 transfers going way out of my way in that they claim to be the fastest route.

GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp never has the correct amount of time for the bus to come. Every time I try to use it I miss the bus either GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp says 3 minutes and I’m walking to the bus stop and the bus already passes I see it two blocks away already. Or I leave when it says 5 minutes and I’m waiting and it never comes until the next one which is like 20 - 30 minutes after the other one was suppose to pass. GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp is unreliable.

I thought this would be a great way to stay on time for my buses but it only makes me late. You can never trust it completely.
It’ll say the next bus is coming in 5 minutes, and you get there, just for that bus to have already passed 10 minutes ago.
It’s never a for sure time, it can always change and constantly does. I don’t know if it’s a gps feature they’re having trouble. But yeah, don’t bother!

GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp is hard to navigate, makes it hard to click on stops/stations and if it does let you click on a stop, it rarely actually displays arrival times. I’ve never even bothered trying to use the trip planner because it’s too confusing and difficult to use.

To top it all off, the arrival information is sometimes inaccurate and says buses are coming when they really aren’t.

The old version of GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp was great. You could track the trains in real time. Only saw the relevant lines for the stop you click on. Now you see connections and every bus within 3 blocks. And it shows scheduled arrivals not actual times anymore. Undo please.

Oh great now none of the stops show up at all. Please fire anyone who worked on this. Or the idiots making decisions and hire someone under the age of 40 to work on this.

What’s the point of Metro app that’s totally inaccurate? According to GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp, two buses should’ve come and gone as I wait here trying to go to work. But, of course, there haven’t been any. And I’ve been waiting for over 30 minutes. Come on guys, it’s rush hour! Who wants to ride a totally unreliable service? I’m lucky my boss is reasonable and knows I take the bus, so she’s flexible.

And, as I’m writing this, my bus did go by, but it said “not in service.” Ugh...

I love the old version, but after wrote some Emails to support the UI still have the same problems. If you go to map tap a stop the bus numbers doesn’t show you the route path like the old version did. Another issue is when GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp get a update a warning sign appears to let you know you got a update but after that ALL the stop’s icons disappear, and I need to delete and reinstall GoMetroLACMTAOfficialApp to fix that.
