Lost years of data. App will not load, even after “fix” that was supposedly implemented.

No longer a great app! I don’t typically write reviews, but here you go! The new version of MortgageCalculatorPlus is bad. Adding the bars makes it extremely difficult to enter information. Bad data in + Bad data out = uninstall. The average home price in the US is 188k, but the middle of the bar is ~900k. Ask your developers to enter a mortgage for say 50k let alone (50,800). It’s impossible! I find it hard to complain without providing a solution. Allow a button for fixed number entry and use the bars for adjusts. Might even consider a rest button back the original fixed numbers.

I wrote the review below when they changed the interface. This is the worst “bad fix” I have ever seen. They destroyed a great app and replaced it with trash. Half the time, you can’t even get to the input fields. I gave it a 1-star rating only because there is no way to give it zero stars. It’s that horrible.

Wow....how can developers reject such a sharp, clear, straightforward, lovely, intuitive interface for such an ugly, glaring, clunky hot mess? What on earth were you thinking? I have loved MortgageCalculatorPlus and used it for years. But I’m looking right now for a replacement. Big, BIG mistake, guys.

I used to love MortgageCalculatorPlus, but the update (5.7.2) totally ruined it. For starters, the new UI is unresponsive and awkward to use. Secondly, now taxes can only be inputted as a percentage of the home value as opposed to a fixed number. Time to find a different mortgage calculator.

It has been about three weeks and still no fixes for the “update.” I wish the developers would pay attention to the reviews, many of which are very critical of the redesign. Also, it seems that there are quite a few fake 5 star reviews that all appeared shortly after MortgageCalculatorPlus was updated (July 9-11)... very strange.

Seriously guys... who is in charge of quality control? They should be fired. Graphics are all messed up on the 5.7.7 update. Everything is too big and you can’t see much of the text. Each update seems to be a giant step away from what was once a great and useful app.

App has many bugs. Calculations of property tax are often incorrect.

This was such a nice simple little app. Put in your numbers; get a result. Modify to see your options. Unfortunately the "update" makes it much more difficult to input your numbers. The sliders cover such a large range that adjusting to the precise number you want is tricky. Why not just allow the user to type in a number? And, the large pie chart graphic at the top is not worth the space for the info provided. Between that graphic and the number pad, there's hardly any space left to see what number you are entering. Sigh. Off to find a new app.

It seems to work well the calculations seem accurate and if ur looking for a quick fix this will do but I won't be keeping it on my ipad. It looks plain, and frankly Unattractive. It has ENOUGH info but I think it could be better expanded with more chooses, graphs and a better more attractive interface. It's simple to use but it's not well explained and I think it should have a user guild on opening

This mortgage calculator is excellent! But when saving calculations, there is no way to name your calculation. If each calculation could be custom named, then when viewing all your saved calculations, you wouldn't need to remember "Oh, which house was this calculation for?"
Also, if a percentage could be entered in the property tax section instead of a dollar amount, then each time you want to run the numbers on a different house (or the same house with a different price), you wouldn't need to exit MortgageCalculatorPlus, open your calculator app to calculate the property tax, remember the number, go back into MortgageCalculatorPlus and enter the property tax. If you could just enter your city's property tax rate, then each time you enter a new home price, MortgageCalculatorPlus would automatically calculate the property tax for you without you having to go through all the separate steps to calculate it yourself.

It used to be a handy simple app that did what you needed quickly and efficiently, then it was updated to have "better" graphics but much less functionality (really? I can't input a mortgage or a payment with a decimal point in it?!).

There was a problem with the graphics but after contacting the developer it was quickly fixed. Thanks!

Also, people don't just use this for house amortization schedules, it is useful for car loans too. Please add something in the settings that allows users to get rid of all the "helpful" things like the sliders and just get to the numbers with decimal points for payments and mortgage amounts! Some people like to know down to the penny what is being paid.

Great app that calculates overpayments to shorten the length of your mortgage. Only flaw is the interest rate rounds to 2 decimal places so you have to re-enter it every time or else the calculation is off. The rates I were using were 3.875 and 3.625 and it would round them to 3.88 and 3.62. The rates would work after a calculate but you go back to adjust anything and it will use the rounded rate throwing everything off.

The new sliders are terribly difficult to use and it is difficult to enter the numbers in manually. Also, please allow us to enter i the yearly tax price instead of percentage. No one knows the tax percentage but they know how much they pay. Worst update ever.

They fixed a lot of the problems listed above so MortgageCalculatorPlus is much better. My only recommendation is to have a way to clear a field when manually entering in data vs being required to hit backspace over and over.

I have used various calculators over the years and I am very impressed with this one. I like that you can save your loan options. You can easily see the amortization and also the graphical output for your amortization. You could easily have. Depending on the property tax and homeowners insurance as well "What if" scenarios with additional payment options

I'm working on the mortgage business for 28 years. We use more complicated system in the office for mortgage amortization and calculation. MortgageCalculatorPlus is simple, easy to understand and easy to use, very straight forward and get result fast! Better than a lot apps that need cost. Highly recommend to general consumers who need to know the mortgage payment.

This is a handy app for anyone either dealing with a mortgage or dreaming of one. The screen is simple and allows you to run the amortization on your mortgage, factoring in the interest rate, loan period, extra payments, extra tax payments and so on.

I'm loving the way the latest version of MortgageCalculatorPlus looks on the iPad. I can also email myself the mortgage calculation which is also helpful.

This is now my favorite amortization calculator. Today there was an update allowing my to pick the mortgage start and end dates, manually set home price, down payment, calculate lending term, and am now on track to paying my current mortgage off in less than 2 years. It was a 5 year mortgage. Thanks, developers, for improving the program and application.

This is my favorite mortgage calculator because of how simple and easy it is to read and understand. Unfortunately as of this last week, it now crashes instantly upon opening it and I’m no longer able to use it. Please fix the crashes so I can continue to use it! Thank you :)

I have been searching for a decent Mortgage Calculator for a while now and did a bit of research online and this was getting good reviews, so i gave it a try. i have to say i am really impressed, it's so simple to use, it doesnt take long to get used to it and its very helpful to have as it will help you plan your finances better. It doesnt have the most amazing graphics BUT who cares? it's not a game, it's a calculator! 5 stars!!!

Used to be awesome and might still be, however, it will no longer open on either my phone or iPad . It tries to open but immediately minimizes to a black screen. I’ll probably delete it and find an app that will open. Update, app has been fixed and now opens and functions fine. One thing I do not like is having to put taxes in as a percentage.

Update... changed 5 stars again. All my issues with MortgageCalculatorPlus have been fixed.

I love this calculator, seriously! It makes this annoying house buying process a bit easier. We have been looking for a house for a few weeks now out here in Dallas and it's been a chore. Our agent will give us the figures of the homes as we view them since she knows our price range but it's hard to get accurate amounts sometimes.

So now I just use this mortgage calculator app for accurate information when we look at houses instead of trying to pull up a website calculator. This thing saves me a lot of time and I can trust seeing the numbers myself relying on the agent.

The toggles it has between home price, down payments, and interest rate make it so easy to understand what I’m looking at and what I need to do. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a way to quickly and easily get some guidance on putting together a home mortgage plan.
