Ads or pay

So, to listen to pronunciation, you need to pay for watch ads. I’m spoiled to the chinese dictionary Pleco which lets you do a lot for free. There needs to be a Korean version and this is far from it. Also, this doesn’t translate phrases or sentences.

...?

I wish you could listen to the pronunciation but you have to buy it

Easy and dependable

I am an native English speaker learning Korean. Naver and Daum are too difficult for me to use for looking up words. They also do not have pronunciation assistance for Korean words when using the English translation. This dictionary has the words I want to use in multiple formats, pronunciation assistance, and is the easiest most helpful app I found for understanding and pronouncing Korean words as a beginner in the Korean language.

Useless without pronunciation audio

Korean is a language for which there must be pronunciation audio since the system the Koreans chose for transliteration using Latin characters is so very very bad. Without audio this a completely worthless app. I keep it in my museum of bad Korean technology as an example of how lame and yet arrogant Koreans often appear in anything requiring innovation or even just satisfying customer needs. As an expression of a Korean persona it only supports racism, even among Koreans. It makes it harder to learn the language of a culture that is historically (not) renowned for its willingness to understand and learn from others.

Using this Application

I find this very helpful in learning pronunciation for Korean words I am learning. Although it is not how words are used in common speech it allows me to practice the base pronunciation, I find this extremely helpful.

Awkward

As someone rather fluent in Korean already, this dictionary has not been beneficial. Words I need are not listed or are only listed as part of an expression or phrase (the base/ root word is unlisted). Why?? It wasn't completely unhelpful, but I'm searching for another, more useful, dictionary.

Nouns please.

I understand that Korean is a verb-centric language, but this Dictionary goes WAY overboard with giving you the verb form of a word and not the (more obvious) noun form. Examples include "winter" "string" "ticket" etc are ALL given to you as their verb forms, not the (distinctly different) nouns. This makes the dictionary very hard to trust at times. So frustrating.

Nice!

Good app for most times I need a dictionary in Korea. There are some words it doesn't have, but in most cases it gets the job done. Give it a try!

Nice.

Very useful. The variety of meanings are nice and pronunciation's a plus.

By

Avoid

Allows a very, very short time to explore the application, loads links to pop-ups, and charges separately for different aspects of the dictionary. Dismal.

Word of the day is useless

I'm convinced whoever programmed the "Word of the Day" vocab list is punking me at this point. Blushfully? Orlon? Really? Are these really words I'll ever use?
