MyNCGA

I found myNCGA to be extremely useful when handicapping my group of 30+ coed players for various outings at different courses. Saved a lot of manual calculations.

What happened to this app

Can’t even open it without it crashing?

Ncga app

Awful! Trying to get ncga app back on my phone. This is no help

Frustrating entering scores

It seems entering scores is a very hot-and-miss thing... I enter the details and click "post score" and get the confirmation on the screen: "posting score/score posted successfully", yet it's not displayed in the list of scores. I try refreshing, I try logging out/in... I try waiting a few minutes and repeating the above. All to no avail. I enter the score again, and right after "score posted" it's displayed in the list. Clearly those "progress messages" don't actually mean anything other than what should be happening. Very poor coding of myNCGA in my opinion. Progress messages should be definitive, not a guess at what might be.

Wonderful App

This is a very comprehensive and useful app. It provides course ratings for all tees, looks up players’ Indexes, calculates course handicaps and computes pops for the foursome. I no longer need to be popping the scorecard walking down the first fairway, it’s done before I tee off. It’s very convenient to post a score right away, and tracks handicap trend. Highly recommended.

Works great

myNCGA looks great and works great. As with all new apps, it takes a little getting used to, patience, willingness to have a little failure as you go, and have read the literature that was sent prior to the launch. All the above takes about 20 minutes to figure out and then off and running.

Super easy and convenient

Pretty easy to use. I can enter my adj handicap score or let myNCGA do it for me. I don’t know why other folks are having so much trouble. Idiots. This is way easier than needing to borrow the golf shop’s computer (back in the 2000s)

Has Promise

I went back to using the original app, New app has potential once it adds all the features & fixes major bugs. For example, the posted scores are not updated in a timely manner & it still shows an incorrect index for me. One feature that is missing from previous version is the ability to look up handicaps by name/state. I like the new UI. It's more intuitive.

A lot worse than the previous app

The old NCGA app that was retired in Dec 2019 was a lot better than this one. My partners didn’t transfer over and I can’t find a lot of partners by looking yo their names even though I know they have a valid index. It has lost a lot of useful functionality like finding how many strokes a group of my partners get on a particular course. I’m very disappointed with the new user interface it is not nearly as user friendly as the old app. Bring the old app back please

Best App for handicap updates

Been using myNCGA now for 8 months and is by far the best way to stay up to date on your handicap. Never an issue or glitch not even once and I post about 20 scores a month from multiple courses in my area!

By

Works great, see review for suggestions

Suggestions for the next version:

1) I would like the ability to bookmark my friend's handicap scores
2) Have the iPhone use GPS to pull up the closest course when posting a score

By

Works Well

Works well without any problems. Really needs to use Location Services so it pulls up a few choices of local courses when you are posting a score. I've given up on posting through the NCGA computer at the courses I play. Slope and stroke indicator is cool.

Issues with MyNCGA App

I don't know what happened but myNCGA just stopped working after my round on Sunday. It was fine on Saturday but I haven't been able to log in since with multiple error messages, including member doesn't exist, no internet connection, etc. I tried deleting and reinstalling myNCGA , but it didn't help. It looks like others are having similar issues. It is a nice app when it works.

Great app, much improved

This updated version is WAY better, and the early issues are fixed. Thank you! I just wish I could play some golf so I could post a score. Thank you NCGA, I appreciate all that you do for golf, so glad I am a member!

Yikes

Boy, does this updated app need a lot of work.
For example,
1) I tried to post a couple scores. myNCGA found the courses but couldn’t display the tee choices needed to post. Had to use the website to post.
2) What happened to the index trend that used to display under your index? My 1/1/20 index is posted on my page, but a different index appears when I try to use the HCP Calculator. Is that the index trend? If so, why is that not explained? If not, why is the number different?

Is there a new version coming? -Update

1/8/19 Update: New version released and working just fine. Thanks for the response NCGA mobile team.

Says “unable to connect every time opening” please advise if a new version is shipping soon. Thanks!

Latest update still doesn’t work

I have downloaded, deleted, updated...tried everything to get myNCGA to work. Can’t post a score and can’t get updated handicap information for a given course. I get to the point where I select and course and then...nothing. Blank screen. I have talked to several golfers at my club and a similar response. myNCGA in its current form is largely useless. Needs a fix quick...

Much Improved!

After a rocky start with the new GHIN database in January, myNCGA works much better than the prior version and has some cool new features. It now actually works with the website too for event info. If you had a rocky first impression, give it another chance.

App crashing since last app and iOS update

Running on iPhone X. Since the most recent round of app updates and iOS parches, the application crashes/closes immediately upon opening. Multiple reboots and offloading of unused apps to free up phone space did not help. This has been gong on for about 3 weeks now.

Fix your app, great when it used to work...

I’m having the same issues as others have reported, first it was working, then suddenly it said it didn’t recognize me and can’t sign in. Then on April 18th, it stopped working entirely even if I delete it and add it again. Would be helpful if it worked instead of having to go to the website or post in the pro shop after a round.

By

Great update

The new interface is a great improvement to myNCGA . Posting scores, finding courses and information are incredibly easy.

By

Good idea, poor design

I attempted to post online and was directed to download the NCGA app.
I downloaded it no problem but it will not let me post as it says it doesn’t have the T information ??
You shouldn’t put out myNCGA and not allow posting online until you can get someone that knows what they’re doing to fix the program.

I’m so grateful

myNCGA has saved my life when it comes to posting scores! Highly recommended!

New app

New app is 1,000 times better. Actually tracks stats and has plenty of new features.

By

Missing Graphics: My Stats

The ‘My Stats’ feature does not work!

Other than that, the look and feel is great and myNCGA is intuitive.

By

The new "My NCGA"

What an absolute joke! Has to be the worst remake of an app ever! What was wrong with the old app? It worked just fine. I hope you can get your $$ back from the fool you hired to redesign myNCGA for you... what a shame

Btw, I'm only giving myNCGA one star because you can't give it a zero

By

Improved look, bad UX and no data

myNCGA doesn't return tees for any courses do I can't look up my handicap for the course. So currently it's completely broken.

The button labels could be clearer based on the action I want to take. I had to poke around to find what I wanted.

By

Waited a year to update the app, and it’s garbage

I get an error each time I attempt to post a score saying “XXXXX is not a valid golfer id” and there’s no way to submit an error or contact someone to resolve the issue. myNCGA is unusable.

By

Used to work Great

I have used the NCGA App since it came out and it was great. Have not been able to open or post for the past two months or so despite a delete and reload. What's app with that?
