WINK Weather Reviews

We moved to south florida 2 years ago and quickly became aware of how fast weather conditions change down here ... Tried several weather apps but none could really get me all the data I needed in an easy to read presentation . The Wink weather app has it all ... presented in an easy to navigate U.I. ( user interface for us seniors ) ... every perimeter covered and all the data you need to have a great Florida day ! Great work !!!!

Refresh lags, wind direction often wrong.
When going from past to now to see where a storm is headed the radar is good but storms always just disappear into future track in the next clip.... the daily % chances change every 15-30mins example- partly cloudy 20% chance of rain. Then a pop up storm rolls through it jumps to 100% , but isn’t that part of the 20% chance. The chance is not supposed to be based on what it’s doing right that second but the likelihood of rain for that day.
20% still means there is a small chance of a little rain just not as much as 80%..
I don’t like your future cast it’s often incorrect or misleading.

Ever since Apple ended distribution of iPad updates for older iPads, your Wink Weather updates no longer work. The system only gives the user the option to download the last compatible version of the Wink app. Of the 30 or so iPad apps I have loaded the failure to update only occurs on the Wink app and with one other app.

Do you plan on fixing this issue or is it unavoidable.

In the beginning you just to see the one weatherman’s face when you started WINKWeather . Then it was too guys and with the most recent update, its three weathermen’s goofy dumb faces. I just want the weather and not their ridiculous faces. I would watch them on TV if I wanted to look at them. Annoying to say the least.

I love the real time feature, and how it follows me wherever I go, but sometimes that doesn’t work and all it will show is ???? marks like it is frozen. I have tried to uninstalling it and reinstalling, but that doesn’t always work. Help!

I use WINKWeather frequently but the last few days it freezes on the opening page. Have to turn ipad off then on again to use WINKWeather . It then freezs again when used a couple of times.

Not sure why WINKWeather changed to all black for the satellite view but it makes it more difficult to make out what you’re looking at. Both the water and the land are black?!? Really?!?

Ever since the last update, the beginning splash screen often freezes. You have to kill WINKWeather before it will fully open. Please fix as this is my go-to weather app.

Weather changes fast here and being a step ahead of it often aids you and sometimes saves you. WINKWeather when it works has a 60 minute lag on the Doppler radar. The forecasts are widely inaccurate. 80% of the time the radar doesn’t even work. Choose another weather app for your safety. An inbound severe storm can be upon you and WINKWeather will not display it.

WINKWeather uses too much battery. Upon checking I found WINKWeather using 59% of battery power on my iPhone 10. For 4 minutes of screen time it used 21 hours and 43 minutes running in the background. Going to disable WINKWeather and see how it goes, if battery life improves, WINKWeather is gone!

For some reason, WINKWeather likes to play last nights news in the morning. Not always, seems strange to me.

Barely worked on my iPhone. Wouldn’t open on my iPad at all until I deleted app then tried to open it in portrait.

I saw reviews from a year ago with these complaints but decided to try it anyway. We love the morning Wink weather.

Please quit promoting this on air until you can address year old issues.

What happened to future track? The most useful part of WINKWeather on a day-to-day basis is gone. Please bring it back.

Please chg. the bar at the bottom - red indicates trouble and why oh why do I have a hurricane spot on the bottom? That should only appear in hurricane season. You've managed to get it right on the iPads, why not the iPhone? And seriously 3 weatherman? Used to be the best - the only weather - losing ground now

Probably the best radar app we know of, we all have it on our phones and even recommend it to people who ask.

What’s happened to this weather app? All I get is the smiling faces of the 2 weathermen but nothing loads. I deleted WINKWeather and reinstalled it. It worked for a couple of days then froze again. If it doesn’t start working soon I’ll delete it altogether. A shame because I like the content

Previous versions were always hit or miss. No data no radar.
New doesn’t open. Just Jim and Matt...all smiles...
Deleted and reinstalled several times.
We work outdoors and rely on accurate weather information.
Sad and very frustrating.

WINKWeather has issues with iOS 13. WINKWeather most time wont load past the pic of Jim and Matt. It worked fine before the iOS update. Please fix this. Also rotation issues on both iPad and iPhone.

I love the Wink App because it keeps me informed about my hometown.

When you open WINKWeather on the iPhone X max it just stays stuck at the screen showing the weather guys. You have to totally close WINKWeather to get it to open the next time.
It’s a bug that should be fixed.
