NewJerseyLottery is almost a necessary evil if you play the NJ lottery in any way. For a while now, the licensing for whatever scanning software NewJerseyLottery uses to scan scratch off tickets has expired and I guess nobody cares enough to keep NewJerseyLottery usable for lottery customers. There isn’t a way in NewJerseyLottery to manually enter the ticket information either) at least I haven’t located a way in NewJerseyLottery ).

Honestly it’s a blessing in disguise. If the state of NJ doesn’t care enough to fix a problem with their app, then maybe I don’t need to be contributing any more money towards the NJ lottery…it’s just a thought. But like everything else government related, fixes move at slower than a glacial pace.

After downloading the new app the problems began. The second chance replay scanner is slow, then you have to look at your entries to see if your ticket was accepted. The collect and win section is a complete waste of time. Aside from the scanner being slow, the tickets are scanned incorrectly. For example, a two dollar ticket may scan for 6 symbols instead of two, and a ten dollar ticket may scan for 2 symbols instead of 10 symbols. I am tempted to delete my vip account instead of trying to navigate this horrible app.

UPDATE: Downloaded the new app. It still doesn’t work. In addition, the website doesn’t work most of the time. It’s almost like they’re trying to force you to use NewJerseyLottery but NewJerseyLottery is garbage. I have no choice but to go to the store to check my tickets. It’s becoming too much of a hassle to play.

NewJerseyLottery stopped working almost immediately. Initially, it worked fine. Unfortunately, I got constant error messages every time I attempted to use it thereafter. Quite frankly, NewJerseyLottery doesn’t deserve the one star. Don’t waste your time downloading it.

Added another tap each time to scan a ticket. Doing second chance scanning is horrible as well, I will still use the separate VIP app for that. Scanning tickets there is way easier. It looks nicer but if weren’t for the scanner, I wouldn’t even use NewJerseyLottery , and now that is harder to use.

It was so much easier when you were able to see the drawings up and down. I find it very tedious to see which games I want to play when swiping left to right. Not to mention the scanning. After each scan you have to close and it brings you back to the main menu so if you have multiple scans you need to hit the scan button and then the button to trigger the scan. The previous version was so much more efficient.

Please fix the scanner. Dies every 2nd or 3rd time scanning. And PLEASE fix the grammar. It’s not “$130 millions” - it’s “$130 million”.

After today’s update the scanner appears to be working - thank you!

The new ticket scanner is really awful. Only takes first ticket scanned then you get the invalid message. I hope you’re working on this!!!!

I used to use your app daily to scan my tickets to check for winners. It used to be great. Not any more. You need to fix the scanner. Tells me my device doesn’t support scanning whenever it feels in the mood to. Some days it works fine. I used to really appreciate knowing exactly what I’ve won. I’ve had sketchy store clerks tell me I won $15 when I knew I won $150. Because I scanned the ticket before redemption. Fix it!!

When you scan a ticket, it would be nice to have the ticket numbers displayed back. There are lots of issues with scanning and many times errors are reported. I don’t trust this and feedback of the scanned numbers would be terrific.

I was really enjoying the convenience of NewJerseyLottery until the most recent update. Why in the world would get rid of the payout info for the games? Isn’t that one of the key pieces of info. I hope you’ll bring it back. Otherwise may as well use google.

NewJerseyLottery stopped scanning tickets. I kept receiving an error saying licensing has expired so I deleted NewJerseyLottery and reinstalled other app and it works fine now.

It does not scan tickets. You set up deadlines for second chance drawings but we can’t scan any tickets to enter. You should put a hold on contests until you get NewJerseyLottery fixed. It’s causing an unfair advantage. How do we know NewJerseyLottery is scanning and producing correct results when it’s barley working. Someone needs to fix this ASAP.

Kinda worked then stoped doing anything like scanning tickets says lincece expired and getting no help from maker so guess I have to delete NewJerseyLottery

The new update disabled checking scratch off tickets. Before this new update I was able to check scratch offs with ticket checker

You can tell NewJerseyLottery is probably made and ran by the state of NJ because like the useless state government it works about 10% of the time. If you are from NJ and have ever had to deal with any state employees then you would understand the level of useless-ness this is. Surprised I don’t have to pay for NewJerseyLottery like everything else in this state.

Update your licenses! I can’t scan tickets due to expired sdk license. As someone else said, works after a restart. For my purposes, NewJerseyLottery rates a 4 or 5 otherwise but you get 3 since you’re mismanaging your backend.

For the past few days the ticket scanner isn’t working. We updated our apps, it worked last night but isn’t working this morning. Are there plans to correct this issue? Otherwise had been using NewJerseyLottery over a year and we loved it.

Delete NewJerseyLottery and reinstall

So today is the March 12 and there was a drawing on March 2nd but they still haven’t post the winners list I emailed them and they never responded NewJerseyLottery it’s just a waste of time I’m deleting it today. Btw I also downloaded the other app and it still the same no winner list

Please make a new update ASAP!! The scanner on the second chance needs to be fix immediately!! You should just be able to click on the scan button and scan without having to jump back and forth after every ticket! The navigation on NewJerseyLottery stinks!

So why did you fix something that didn’t need fixing? The scanner previously worked perfectly to enter my non-winning cards to the VIP Club Million Dollar Replay but now does not. At first I got the Error message telling me to try again or call them for assistance. Now I get the Error message telling me it’s invalid and to scan a 28 digit number. I’m trying to. It will scan one card correctly each time but will not allow me to scan enough cards to make the $10 requirement. Very frustrating since it was working just fine a few days ago. Time to debug the debugging.

I use an iphone 7S. I play 5 different games for the week and check my tickets once a week using NewJerseyLottery. Today, after the camera update this week, NewJerseyLottery rejected the scan on 3 of the 5 tickets and then told me that I did not win on either of the 2 remaining tickets.

I checked each ticket manually since I could not rely on NewJerseyLottery . One of the tickets where NewJerseyLottery seemingly scanned it and told me it was not a winner was actually......a winner.

I no longer have confidence in NewJerseyLottery. Frankly, as a fellow IT professional, I’m really disappointed at the IT team which apparently rolls out a crap product.

I saw some reviews indicating that people received erroneous results from NewJerseyLottery . I spend about 80 a week on mega and power ball with my friends. For the past couple of months I have compared NewJerseyLottery results to scanning at my lottery retailer. I have never seen an incorrect result from NewJerseyLottery . So my test is about 640 tickets with no bad scanning from NewJerseyLottery. This is my experience.

NewJerseyLottery history say bugs were fixed and there is a new barcode scanner. Meanwhile I’m getting error saying “your request can not be processed at this time, every time I try to scan a ticket to check or add to the million dollar replay. I have an iPhone 12 Pro. NewJerseyLottery needs true updating.

For the last two days I can not enter my loosing tickets and keep getting an error message. Since you guys did the new barcode update we are having a lot of issues. Please fix this thank you. No on answers the calls and I sent an email. Please fix happy holidays and stay safe still love no lottery

Update 2/12. It is working well again on my iPhone 8plus and my iPad Pro. No problems anymore. Thanks for fixing it.
As of a couple weeks ago it no longer works on iPad. Still works on iPhone but for how much longer?
Now it doesn’t work on the 8+ as others have said. Hasn’t worked on my iPad Pro ever. Lucky I still have my old iPhone 6 which it works on.

I really loved NewJerseyLottery! I loved being able to scan and see if I won and I really, really loved being able to scan non winning tickets into the million dollar replay. However, since the new scanner I’m constantly getting an error after the first ticket has been scanned so I can’t even finish entering the other losing scratch offs. I’m getting really frustrated since I really don’t feel like entering them individually on the webpage. Please fix this ASAP!!

Up until a week or two ago, I had no problems with NewJerseyLottery or the scanner. Then, last week, first the scanner for the December bonus stopped working. And now tonight, the scanner for the regular second chance entries didn’t work. I had called customer support. They told me to close/delete NewJerseyLottery , re-load it and try again. I tried that, a few times, and it still won’t work!
(Was there a recent upgrade that screwed things up?)

Crashes, constantly have to log back in, numbers don’t get posted timely.
Now, the new scanner doesn’t work. If the lottery had any competition they’d be out of business. Poorly run just like any other govt “business” since they can’t get fired for doing a crappy job.
Guess how many companies who make 1.5 billion dollars a year have apps that don’t work?
Answer? 1. NJ Lottery!!! The other companies pay people to fix the apps or go out of business!

I’ve never had an issue with NewJerseyLottery before but after the last update I’m getting an error message which reads We were unable to scan your barcode. Please try again. Should be a simple fix with an update

Thought they broke the ticket scanner with the last update. But after uninstalling and reinstalling NewJerseyLottery , it works fine! If you’re having issues, I recommend trying this solution.

Your million dollar scratch off “scan again” scanner doesn’t work. It only scans the first ticket but when you hit the plus sign it doesn’t scan the rest of the tickets. I tried scanning my losing scratch-off tickets for your million dollar replay game. I cleaned my iPhone camera lens but it still doesn’t work. Please fix NewJerseyLottery for all the places where you scan tickets. Thanks again.

I don’t get push notifications or texts even though I turned both of them on. I’m not sure what the issue is. I used to get the push notifications for the daily numbers and that just stopped. Can you please fix?

When scratch ticket is scan to see if it’s a winner an error message comes up. I. Figure I wait a day but it’s been two days now.
Please look into this error message.

Another update and they still didn’t fix the scanning for the newest iPhones.

I can get drawing results everywhere. Scanning tickets is the only reason to use NewJerseyLottery! I think this is the 4th update since the iPhone 8 came out and they still haven’t fixed it, yet the Collect ‘N Win app scans tickets just fine on the iPhone 8.

Instead of fixing the problem, version 6.1.1 just turned the problem into an error message. Funny thing is, the Collect ‘N Win app scans just fine…
