Thai Dictionary - Dict Box Reviews

I used to use several Thai-Eng dictionary apps but I have finally stuck with only this one for several years. It is easy to search back and forth Thai to English and English to Thai. ThaiDictionary also aggregates data from several dictionary databases which is convenient to look up alternative meanings from other sources. However, I deduct 1 star from my rating for annoying ads that pop up so often when I am about to type the vocabulary down. Sometimes, I have to wait for 5 seconds in order to close the ads and continue typing. I know that is how you still manage to make ThaiDictionary free for us so I do not want to complain much. It just would be nice if it comes in a less annoying way.

By far the best dictionary app I have used, especially for Thai. It’s very difficult to find an app with an efficient interface and easy navigation. The highlighting function is absolutely essential in breaking down composite nouns and the like!!! I can trace nearly every word down by its syllable clusters, which is, again, absolutely amazing with a language like Thai. I am constantly opening the second pull-up/secondary search window and performing cross-searches to add more depth to my understanding of every word I learn.

I am an American, married to a native Thai woman. Both my wife and I use ThaiDictionary regularly as a reference and teaching/learning tool. I've tried a few others, but I've always come back to this one. The UI isn't at all fancy or especially nice to look at, but the links within the text to various sources and audio clips are incredibly functional and efficient. Give it a try.

Not only is it very comprehensive (incorporating many dictionaries into one) but it also features an extremely versatile word list and review feature which is perfect for memorizing vocabulary. I use ThaiDictionary literally every day. A valuable app for free, and it is absolutely worth supporting.

However I have run into performance issues especially with the flashcards feature: it drains my battery very quickly and loads quite slowly especially as the number of words in the list grows.

Also, even after purchasing the upgrade to premium, I still got an ad!

I am a Thai student as English as a second Language at Manhattan NY USA and I also bought ThaiDictionary for full version, offline then use this DICT every single days. A positive aspect of this amazing Dict is...
First, straightforward and include simple sentences onto correcting gramma.
Second, it has third the pronounce, US, UK, AUS to blow your mind how to pronounce like native. So don’t talk too much let try by your own then you guys would be get an experience with it.

This dictionary lets you search for whole phrases and look up individual words in example sentences or compound words without losin your original search. Both of these features are really useful! It also has most words I look up and the translations are usually accurate and useful.

I’m from Thailand and have been struggling to learn English for 10 years. ThaiDictionary has changed my life and the association of pictures which give me an option to change them as well, what an amazing app you’ve made, and words has helped me more than I could have ever imagined. I like that ThaiDictionary always have more explanations and example of the words. Synonyms and Antonyms, along with the accent pronunciations. It helps me pronounce the words correctly or close enough to the native accents. Thank you so much.

Having been in Thailand for many years now, I still run across words that I do not have in my vocabulary database. ThaiDictionary has always provided a quick and easy solution to that situation. Thank you for a great app!!!!

This is the best dictionary so far that I have used, it tell you what type of the word such as noun or adjective and also give you examples of the word. It’s also pronounce for in English, America and Australia.

Great dictionary I've ever used. It shows not only in Thai meanings, but also in English meanings. I can search both English and Thai in the box without changing a language. How cool it is!

This is a helpful reference tool. The only issue I have is that when I want to know how to translate and pronounce a Thai word, I have to type in the English word, find the Thai word, and then type in the Thai word to get the pronunciation icon.

Don’t apply for their credit card. What ever point show on your account is fake , trying to but air tickets cost $800 my point worth $201 but the customer service said tickets should be exactly $201 to eligible to use the point. Is that make sense!?!

Extensive, light on memory, never crashes. The advertisements are a real pain, every time you switch to ThaiDictionary you have to deal with them. Almost 5 stars.

Completely useful. Once you use this dictionary, you won't need other dictionaries. Highly recommended!!!

I've been using this application for 4 years, to comprehensive and easy.

I use it often, for my Thai homework, and to look up how to spell words when chatting with my Thai friends. The only drawback is the interruptions by ads, but hey, it's free! Thanks for the great app!

ThaiDictionary is so easy to use and it translates 100 times better than google translation. And it's free. Love it.

ThaiDictionary is pretty Spot on with the translation. I’m a fluent Thai speaking individual and often refer to ThaiDictionary when in need.

I’ve been using ThaiDictionary for 3+ years and have finally decided to write a review. I move back and forth between the US and TL and ThaiDictionary is 100% the best language app. It’s definitely slightly more useful if you speak a bit of both languages, since it gives all the different possible translations but IMHO this leads to better communication since other apps like google just directly translate in the most obvious way. It also provides audio for the words, and has a memory of your saved words (if you find yourself searching similar things frequently).
