Quite a few mistakes

Queue is misspelled ‘que’, there is a crocodile pic for the word alligator, nail(hammer) is followed by nail-polish(confusing and misspelled), airplanes all have pictures of jets, orcas are not whales, circle shows a bunch of kids, etc… there are some good ones, but there are too many mistakes and ambiguous or misleading pictures.

Click bait fraud

The ads are right next to buttons for kids to click or fat finger

Too expense without word star

Weak words
Trash
Don’t spend your mony

Cultural Diversity Please!!!

KidsPictureDictionaryEnglish seems to function ok; just one question: Where are all the African American children, families, and people?!!! Or at least some kind of cultural diversity. Children learn by seeing others with whom they can identify with; and not all children are white, obviously!

Ads are a problem for apps for little kids

Consider doing an inApp purchase app versus a free app with ads. Ads distract, are often inappropriate for kids, kids click on them (intentionally or not) and causes headaches for parents.

The words are interesting, but not sure why those were chosen. Better of to choose the dolch nouns.

Nice for practicing sentences too!

This has nice pictures and models for practicing sentences. I would rate it higher if there were a way to see the vocabulary choices and to choose which ones you wanted to practice. This could be a handy tool for language delayed kids.

Useful for ELLs

It has good features for oral language development. It would be better if the sentences remained on screen when student is recording their voice. Also would be nice if KidsPictureDictionaryEnglish tracked data. But I like the instant playback.

No good for classroom

I get that you "have to" pay for free apps, but there's no way I would hand this to a little kid. They would be tapping away at all kinds of ads. Also, picture dictionaries are usually set up so that you get to a page of related things-- either a category or initial sound-- where you can see them all so you can find what you want to spell. You would have to be pretty lucky to want to spell zig-zag which is what comes up for Z. On the pro side I really like the pictures and clear voice and recording options. If this had a visual index and LOTS of age appropriate words ( like 500 or more) I would easily pay a buck or two for it. As is, it would probably by quite handy for an English language learner who is old enough to know not to click on ads for stuff s/he doesn't want.

Nice framework, some poor sentence choices

Nice structure and design—too bad they don’t sell you your own template of KidsPictureDictionaryEnglish to fill in and make your own personal dictionary for kids. Unfortunately their nonsecular word selections only emphasize Christian terms like cross, angels ("angels surround all of us", church, prayers (“God answers prayers), so this dictionary is best for that population and pretty useless for diverse communities.

What happened to the recordings?

This was good to record the speech students we work with, but the next day the recording is gone. The child's head is there and the mouth is moving, but no sound comes out.

Good but one crucial suggestion

As a Speech and Language Pathologist KidsPictureDictionaryEnglish is awesome! However, this would get a 5 if KidsPictureDictionaryEnglish had a way to look up words that way when a child needs to understand a word it can be searched for and shown in picture form immediately.

Great

My daughter Grace and I like KidsPictureDictionaryEnglish very much.

Good buy...but

I really like it and so does my youngest, my only WTH with KidsPictureDictionaryEnglish is why is there a semi automatic gun on the cover?! Missed that before I downloaded. It's really not a big issue, but just seems inappropriate for a children's educational app.

Kids picture dictionary

Nice pictures and sentences, but sometimes are not read or written correctly especially with subject verb agreement. Probably better for words with certain letters than theme.

Great app

Favorite feature is the ability to record my voice for my children!!

Love it!

My daughter loves to use it for new words. She is learning to speak and loves to use the recorder to record her own voice. She is turning in to a whiz! Thanks you guys. You helped me give my baby a big vocabulary!

Perfect for kids to learn words!

Every word has a corresponding picture and audio pronunciation of a sentence. it's very well pronounced by a female voice, very good for kids and beginner to learn American English. Totally enjoyed it, I give it two thumbs up!

Camping

I like to camp out in the tent

Nice app !

KidsPictureDictionaryEnglish is better than all kids English learning apps I have including purchased.

My son’s favorite app for the last month

My son has autism and has used KidsPictureDictionaryEnglish almost non stop when he gets screen time. He likes the pictures and I think he appreciates how simple and organized the letters are. I never leave reviews but I did because it’s an app I didn’t waste money on. Thx!
