Origami 3D Crafts Reviews

If you are going to charge for an app, charge upfront. Stop hiding the charges as in app purchases or at least mention the charges in the description.
(On a side note, I don't understand people in the reviews below who give 4 or 5 stars then complain about the hidden charges.)

The use of diagrams for the sake of instructing are absolutely useless. The steps are told in such a basic form that the following step may not connect appropriately to the next.
All the pieces seem incredibly fun and exquisite. You do have to pay $2.99 (USD) to be able to download the locked instructions.
There are other free apps that have better instructions; some utilize flash to demonstrate what to do. Origami3DCrafts uses "origami basics" which shows general folding instructions. For instance, to make an "insert" fold it would show what an insert may look like. Unfortunately, this fails in most instructions since the visuals don't match the origami being made. Just as bad, dotted lines are implemented to show where a fold should go. Initially, this works but going forward, it begins to confuse more than assist.
A flash update is necessary to show how to make every fold for every origami piece.

So, a few weeks ago, I was on Origami3DCrafts making origami. Then, today I went on and tried to make a puppet. It wouldn't let me, saying that I had to buy it. It was .99, so I skipped it. Pretty soon, I found out that almost all of them you had to buy. So I went looking for another app, and found a good one with no in app purchases. I kept Origami3DCrafts because it had extra videos for free. I made a paper book! But overall, they are loosing customers.

I feel that the owners of Origami3DCrafts need to hire a professional to write the instructions. The instructions are well illustrated; however, it is really difficult to understand the written instructions. I finally made the "water bomb" after much trial and error because the directions were not clear. I feel the directions need extra steps to clarify what is needed to create the oragami.

Needs better instructions in written words and picture model.

The picture model's arrow is very confusing. Some arrows of it shows to fold, but it does not stay in that position - some does stay in that position. The written description is very vague and does not tell so.

The picture model seems as if they skip a few steps that we needed to see to confirm about being in the correct position. It is way too fast in steps. We need more pictures.

I wish that it would have included more origami than just a few. I have completed all of them and still keep doing them but they get boring. It should have included more fun ones to keep people interested. It would have made Origami3DCrafts a lot better.

As an origami lover, everyday I learn and create new origami things. I am very good at origami. The only problem with Origami3DCrafts is the fact that the models they teach you how to fold are very dull and boring, and much too easy. Also, there aren't many tutorials on this free version. If you have more experience with origami, I would recommend a more challenging and interesting app.

App provides nice big step-by-step diagrams and makes an attempt to make it easy for beginners. However, in doing so often oversimplifies drawing which can ultimately confuse the newbie. It comes with a strikingly low number of designs and charges quite a lot for a full, but rather bland design portfolio.

It would be helpful to have an intro explaining an describing the symbol markings for a valley fold / mountain fold (they use the symbolic lines, but don't explain), and many steps are so oversimplified that an inexperienced folder is likely to become confused. The illustrations are large and clear, but additional interstitial steps would benefit everyone. New, random ads on every single step... Fairly annoying. I am searching for an app to use with my elementary school art students-- this isn't it.

I work at a call center so it's easy to get bored and want to do something to pass the time quicker. I thought origami would be awesome to do from time to time, so I downloaded Origami3DCrafts. I decided on the chicken origami... the steps and instructions provided are a bit vague. I had to do a bit of trial and error before I could move on to the next step. Eventually I made a chicken... It was cute and I was satisfied. Origami3DCrafts is good, but the instructions are a little vague.

The instructions are clipped and unreadable when longer then the visible area, which most important ones are.
There is no way to filter or search of any kind. E. G. by difficulty or paper type (square vs rectangular)
To see the type of paper user needs to view the instructions. Which if it is the first time accessing the shape, it will take some time to download. So if u trying to find out what type of paper it is this is very frustrating and a waste of time.
Also it is impossible to tell from the list which shapes are downloaded.
Collection itself is ok. But i have not tried harder shapes and with missing instructions i suspect there will be issues.

It is good for teaching origami if you are not that experienced (like me) because there are little animations that show you what to do, which helps me a lot. You do have to pay 3$, but it is for 96 different origami things, so I think it is a reasonable price. It would be even cooler though If there was an option to pay 3 cents for each origami thing. It would make sense because 300 cents divided by the 96 origami things equals about 3 cents. They probably won't do that though. 😛

I love Origami3DCrafts but have had to delete Origami3DCrafts several times because I've had two different glitches either instructions stop downloading or download button freezes and wont load or go away

I got on looking specifically for a rose I could make for free. I tried several apps with no easy instructions. After searching and searching I finally found Origami3DCrafts. Then I find out I have to buy the full version just to make a freaking easy rose.

I really love how u put the videos in as well with very detailed instructions, just a few minutes ago I couldn't even make a ninja star and now everyone is asking me to make their favorite animal or flower. I do wish that you'd add more tutorials, more animals and that kid of stuff, Origami3DCrafts really is awesome though! Makes me want more!!!

I really like Origami3DCrafts, I have done lots of origami before and just have a bad memory for the steps so Origami3DCrafts is exactly what I was looking for. I wouldn't recommend it to a total beginner though, because it assumes you already know terms like inside reverse fold. But as a fairly experienced origami-er I like it, decent variety of projects too, including the crane (which was the first one I wanted to do!) overall pretty nice app and no annoying music.

I love Origami3DCrafts! It works so well and had many separate designs that were all unique; I loved the videos the most because it gives another view and I can do it a lot better.

Like it so much broke down & just bought the full version! It's fun & pretty easy with good instructions to follow. Just hope they will add more things to make real soon! (please, please)

What I see is very clear instructions. And yes you have to use your brain and hands 😉

I love Origami3DCrafts. It's so easy to use and quite cheap. All of the origami characters are so cool and you get 20 characters for free. To get 111 figures you have to pay a little bit but its TOTALLY worth it. And they're so fun to make. It has all holidays in it. Very cute valentines day figures and cute winter figures. The only hard part is choosing which one to make!
