Been using for 10 years. Not a good app.

I originally purchased the NASB app ($30) almost 10 years ago. I have thousands of highlights and notes. I was basically forced into using the new app (OneBible) a while back. I’ve had issues with both apps since the beginning. I’ve contacted support multiple times and it isn’t good. The sync feature doesn’t work right for multiple devices, the dictionary lookup doesn’t work anymore, I bookmarked a page and couldn’t clear it and kept pressing the bookmark only to see a dozen bookmarks for each time I tried to clear, I now have to pay to remove adds that blare out when I’m trying to be quiet, and I could go on. It seems every time something is fixed, another issue arises. I have been a software developer for over 30 years and I know how software development and quality control should work and it isn’t like this. I’m so many years and so far into TheOneBibleApp that I hate to change now, but I’m almost done! There are other options and I would definitely recommend you search for something different.

Blessing from God!

I love TheOneBibleApp!!!!! I like how there are different colors of highlighters and underlines. I like the little extra things in TheOneBibleApp such as the daily bible verses and lists of each chapter in a specific book. TheOneBibleApp is very helpful. If you want to write a note you can do that in TheOneBibleApp too. It’s all in one place very organized and neat. Only thing I don’t love is the new update. I don’t like that whenever I get on TheOneBibleApp after already being on it it has to reload which is irritating, however it doesn’t take very long to do so. I hope you get TheOneBibleApp!! I recommend it 110%!!

Losing patience!

I started using TheOneBibleApp a couple of years ago and really loved it.
Paid for the upgrade to block adds over a year ago. Then the latest upgrade came along and it started freezing up and slowing down and my daily plan would start over every day and would have to manually scroll to the day I left off from.
So I deleted TheOneBibleApp and reloaded it. It was working great other than it would not let me buy the upgrade to remove adds. Every time I tap the feature to remove adds, TheOneBibleApp closed.
Now TheOneBibleApp has become very unresponsive, freezes up, won’t let me tap a verse and copy and is very slow when trying to scroll. I have become very frustrated and can’t seem to get any response from tech support.

I love my One Bible daily reading app. It keeps the Word with me where ever I am.
It’s my own personally conviction, but I won’t allow myself to look at social media until I have done my Bible reading. It is helpful and comforting. I OFTEN send a portion or a chapter to my friends and loved ones I feel would profit from it for that day. I always get a positive response back.
I thank God that I was raised in a family that believed that loving and serving God was important and necessary. My father was blinded in WW2 and always listened to the Bible on his cassette tapes back then. He tried to lead his family that way as well! I’m very thankfu❤️

No Support

Update:

The “support team” responded to my review and said my email may be going to spam and gave me an email address to use. The email address they have provided is the email address I’ve been using. I sent now a fourth email a week ago and still no reply. I don’t believe there really is a support team or at least one that answers all support emails. If my email is going to spam, why didn’t they look for it and then answer it? I still get ads and the syncing of books that have been read do not sync across other devices. I’ll now reduce from 3 stars to 2 stars until I get some support.

I’ve been using TheOneBibleApp now for about 2 months. TheOneBibleApp has worked well for the most part. In the beginning I paid to be free of ads. Then they forced me to start using a newer app. Since using the new app the ads are always there even though I’m still paying. I’m logged in and I’ve hit restore many times and I still have the ads. I’ve sent an email to support with the email TheOneBibleApp provides three times over the 2 months and I’ve never received a reply. I don’t believe they have interest in providing help.

App crashing

I am not sure what’s going on now but TheOneBibleApp has been crashing every time I open it up today it has crashed four times while in my study. I have an 11 promax iPhone it has been updated to the recent versions of the iOS so I am not sure why this keeps crashing. Please look into this I would really appreciate it because if I have to delete it and try to reinstall it again I’m afraid I’ll lose all of my notes and messages that i have in TheOneBibleApp

Fast and smooth but I need commentaries

Coming from anther Bible App, I thought I would give this a run. I find TheOneBibleApp missing a few features. I love the Audible feature. However the library is missing some needed tools. For example I prefer the Life Application NIV & the KJV WITH Strong’s built in. My current app Olivetree has an extensive library and each book has links which take you to notes, comments and Strong’s dictionary. However the books and bibles are also twice as expensive. After some us I’ve decided to stay with Olivetree app. If you’re a casual Sunday attender. TheOneBibleApp is great for you.

I love it!!

I have completely switched over to using this Bible application on my iPad Pro! I love it very much for daily readings. I wish there were better tools for studying, I wish that you could set up daily reading programs, or I wish that the back button would take you back to your previous page that you were on rather than just back one chapter. But those are minor irritations the greater delight is ease of looking up other verses and jumping quickly around through the Scriptures! I use it daily!

Wisdom at My Fingertips

I have very few apps. As a writer, I write books and blog posts by hand. I also advocate not being too connected to technology. During my morning meditations and reading, I like TheOneBibleApp because I don’t have to boot up my computer. I can still be in a quiet peaceful state and look up any verses that I need. I also like the various Bible versions to compare. My preference is still to pick up any book, especially the Bible, however, TheOneBibleApp is a good complement. Thank you for this resource.

Fine app

TheOneBibleApp works well. I especially like the buttons used to select the chapter and verse as opposed to the more common scroll device. It's faster and easier to tap only twice for the 20th chapter and the 30th verse rather than scrolling from one in each case.
One small annoyance: when TheOneBibleApp asked me to write a review I was actually in a Bible class at church so I selected "remind me later." Then the reminder came up EVERY time I wanted to look up another passage. That's a little needy and overly persistent if you ask me.
Additionally, I frequently want search for a specific word or phrase and that is either difficult or I haven't figured it out yet. RLDVM

Would like a refund, please.

I have been enjoying this Bible App. I like the daily reading option. I thought I’d purchase a audio NLT version for $5.97 I think. Somewhere around $6. I found out afterwards you have to be a subscriber to unlock the audio. Right now you can only get a 30 second sample. To be a subscriber you need to pay a weekly subscription. I have no plans of doing that. So, I am out the money I spent. I tried to contact the support on TheOneBibleApp but haven’t gotten past the options for choosing a mail server. Very disappointing.

Excellent

I have the "lite" version and I love it. NIV version of the Bible makes it so simple to ingest the Word of God. I have it on my tablet and my iPhone and I love it. I am in a weekly bible group and having TheOneBibleApp helps me stay connected to the group readings while I am at work, in line at the grocery store without feeling defeated that I do not have my paper Bible with me. Amazing app for a new Christian looking to have the convenience or even a "seasoned" believer. Could not say any more great things about his app. User friendly, no glitches for me

The Bible app

I really like this Bible because I love to read the Bible. When you can’t find your actual Bible you can hop right on to TheOneBibleApp. Well what if you lost your spot? Good for you there is a book bark. You can also klick a button down at the bottom of the page and it says something about you already read the page. You can klick that just in case. I’m only 11 years old and I love TheOneBibleApp.

Ads in a bible app doesn't sit well with me

I'm having a hard time giving a bible app only 2 stars. But the fact that they make a user watch ads right when they open the Holy Bible doesn't sit right with me. What if someone on the fence about Jesus happened to use TheOneBibleApp? I worry if it was their first time trying to read the Bible something silly like that could turn them off to the whole idea. I have no problem with you guys putting in a tithe/offering section somewhere in TheOneBibleApp .
For now I'll be sticking with the YouVersion for my Bible app. I really hope you guys will take this into consideration.

Matthew 10: 8-9

Loved It B4 Upgrade

This was one of my favorite apps until it upgraded. Now, each time I pull up TheOneBibleApp , it pulls up an ad 1st. No problem when WiFi is available, but the majority of the time, I’m out & about with no WiFi & it takes eternity for the ad to try to load & it completely blocks your ability to see the Scriptures until the ad fullly loads & displays. It’s becoming increasingly difficult & made me now need another Bible app as back up when this one won’t load. They want u to pay to remove the ads, but I ALREADY paid for the different bible versions I wanted. It really stinks for those of us that were already here b4 the upgrade to OneBible. We should’ve been grandfathered in or something. Ijs.

It just stops!

I’ve written this review before! I enjoy TheOneBibleApp very much but as I read and at the end of the page, and at times before I reach the end of the page, everything stops! I cannot scroll down to the end of the page or it will not allow me to turn the page. This is the only app I’ve ever had this problem with. Others have not had this problem or have fixed it. Why can’t you? Otherwise I would give you 5 stars. Next time I will give you only 1 star.

No longer easy to use

I’ve had his app for about 4 years and loved it, but finally gave up and deleted it. Every time you open it there’s an add and they just seem to keep getting longer, it’s faster to just Google whatever passage I’m looking for at this point. There isn’t even an option to pay more for no adds. Especially if I’m bringing something up to read in a prayer time or Bible study, it’s incredibly disruptive to wait for an add to finish before reading and just reminds me of how commercialized religion can be.

Misquoted scripture

I had TheOneBibleApp for a couple of months before I noticed they had a mistake. Under the reading plans for "Breathe Life Day 24" section they have 1 Samuel 12:14 listed like this "But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for the Lord, the son born to you will die." I didn't remember the Bible verse that way so I looked it up online in six different versions and I looked it up in my bible. Here is what it should say. "Now if you fear and worship the Lord and listen to His voice, and if you do not rebel against the Lord's commands, then both you and your king will show that you recognize the Lord as your God." This was a good lesson for me on the importance of knowing God's word and checking it. Be wise and careful. God bless.

EDIT (again): crashes

TheOneBibleApp was awesome, almost perfect, until the most recent update ruined it. Adds constantly, much less user friendly, a real shame. This was a 5 star app four days ago.

EDIT: The most recent update fixed the aforementioned issues! Thank you!

2nd EDIT: All of a sudden, my app wouldn’t open yesterday. Crashed on startup every time. So I deleted and redownloaded (losing all of my progress), and it was working for a while this morning, but now it’s crashing again. Help!

Excellent Bible app

A very user-friendly Bible app. I especially like the book-chapter-verse selection button rather than the scroll wheel option some other Bible apps offer. It is much easier and faster to simply select from the grid. I also like the option of simply selecting the chapter. It cuts out yet another step in finding the passage you want. I highly recommend TheOneBibleApp to anyone who needs a quick, easy to use Bible app.

Ads

I have been using TheOneBibleApp for a few years and loved it. I especially like the fact I can track my reading by chapter. However, in one of the latest updates advertisements were added. It was a bit embarrassing when I first opened the latest update during church and the audio from a video started blaring. That coupled with the fact that every time my phone or iPad goes to sleep with TheOneBibleApp already open, and I awake it, TheOneBibleApp acts like it’s being reopened and the same add pops up. This is way too distracting and annoying, especially if I am praying in between reading passages. I decided to download a different app, and am dumping this one.

Truly loving this awesome app

I have been installing several bible apps for almost two hours and bought some of them to remove ads but they were not worthy at all and finally I found this awesome app.... this has several versions in it and it was completely free and there is no ad popping up.... blessed are the developers of TheOneBibleApp.... my father in heaven give you everything you need from the richest in Christ... amen

Each update creates another problem. Was 5 star before the last 2 updates.

The last update created ads that you have to close before you can view the content. The newest update caused more problems. As soon as I open TheOneBibleApp and close the ad, TheOneBibleApp shuts down. It takes at least 2 tries before it will stay open. I hate to lose TheOneBibleApp because it has some really helpful features. I am writing this review so the developers will be aware of the issues and can fix them.
