I think this is a dead app

They spent several hours over many days manually listing Xbox live arcade games and Eshop games and Psn games. Then all of a sudden all of them disappeared. I emailed them and they responded with this:

Due to a brand new type of malicious attack on our servers (called Ako), our apps were down on Sunday, January 12th, 2020 while we mitigated the issue. ** No personal information such as usernames or passwords were compromised. **

All of our systems and apps are back online, but any collection data created or modified from November 12th, 2019 until yesterday is still being restored and may take a while to appear. This includes user accounts, so logins created during that time period will not work. We do not have a timeframe on when this restore will be completed, as there is a separate backup that will need to be merged and is not a very manual process.

I gave up and decided to try CLZ Games. It’s very good although you have to pay $1.50 a month or $15 a year for their online services. But at least I know they have an interest in keeping their product up and working to continue to make money. This ‘Sort It’ app hasn’t been updated in 2 years. So you can waste your time listing hundreds of games here only to lose them or find another app.

A nice app for managing my collection.

I personally quite like iCollectVideoGames. The barcode scanner has been working well for me, which makes it easy to scan games into my personal database quickly. Works well enough for my purposes, and I think it’s easy and intuitive to use.

Great app

Great app. Haven’t had any real issues. I wish that I could organize my platforms in any order I wish instead of alphabetical order though. It’s got a few bugs that need to be worked out for example games not showing in your collection after you add them sometimes until you restart iCollectVideoGames . The developers don’t respond to your comments or questions either; little things like that keep it from earning 5 stars, but all-in-all it’s a great little app. I’d recommend.

Missing Several Critical things.

So I have been using iCollectVideoGames for more than a couple of years and while they update it they are not updating critical things to collectors.

1)There is No price charting in how much your collection is worth except using Ebay which is off. They should use Pricingcharting or Gamevaluenow for video games. Collectors need to place VALUE FOR INSURANCE!

2) They don't have a informational tabs that suggest whether if it's-Loose, Complete in the Box, New Sealed, or Graded! These 4 things are critical to video Game collectors because the value and information is important

3) they don't allow Strategy guides or Video Game collectibles to scan since they have other apps but what they are missing is that Video Game Collectors strictly - "video games" NOT "Strategy Guides/ aka books, and they figures. They are collecting Video Game Collector Stuff! That stuff includes - Games (cartridge, complete in box, Graded or sealed), Strategy Guides, Game figures because most collectors editions NOW INCLUDES FIGURES!

Please update iCollectVideoGames FOR MODERN VIDEO GAME COLLECTOR.

Don't waste your time

Lost my whole inventory trying to sort cool features to iCollectVideoGames . However, even though it's free to download, you can only list 15 games before you must upgrade. There are many different tiers of memberships. Some as high as $70. Even though they are lifetime memberships that is still very high. I wouldn't have minded paying a few bucks for iCollectVideoGames but $6 is way too much. I don't see why such limits should be placed on the number of games in your list. The ability to scan barcodes and add to your list is great, but not for $6

Super Useful

I bought iCollectVideoGames after having used their other collection app for movies that I really love. My only complaint is for some reason a lot of the images for my game library on here don’t show up and just show up black with “image missing”. Maybe it’s a bug because it’s only happening to any pictures I’ve cropped. Oh well, awesome app regardless and totally recommended!!

Great app

A fantastic and very organized way of keeping your collections concise and easy to manage. It's great whenever I am at a flea market or a used video game store and I am not sure of what I have or what I need. So, in a pinch, I always pull iCollectVideoGames up and I'm able to get the answers I need right at my fingertips.

Would love to see one essential feature added

iCollectVideoGames is great to keep track of what you have and don’t have. Customer service is efficient and helpful too! One thing I would love to see in an update is a game count per system feature. Something that tells you how many games you have on PS1, how many you have on SNES, N64, etc... that would be a really nice addition!

SIMPLY AN AMAZING APP!

Wow!! Where do I begin, lol. iCollectVideoGames is just amazing, at what it’s intended to do. I have a huge library of over 230 + games, and I love how easy it is to browse/add new games etc. it’s go worth the upgrade to premium where you unlock the total package. Thanks to all the deva behind this one!

Great way to organize a video game collection!

iCollectVideoGames is a great way to keep things organized for your video game collection. It is especially helpful when you are out and about and need to check the list of games you already have.

Great 👌

But
When I fill out the form incompletely and go to the browser to search for a photo,
When I return, the software is restarted and I have to fill out the form again.

Good but way overpriced

iCollectVideoGames is not bad. I was able to add 10 games with the barcode scanner and then you have to pay $10+tax. I wouldn’t have an issue with this, the problem is data is user driven. I have already looked for games not in database. I’ll have to input all details, look for pics online, etc. Based on this I’d be willing to pay $0.99 for the barcode reader functionality, and connection to eBay.

Old version was better

Since the new version, I’ve lost most of the cover art pictures. And other info is gone. Now I have to spend hours fixing everything that was perfect before it was changed to this new company. My wanted list is missing all the info but the title.

Sort it! Video game app

This is a great app when it works. iCollectVideoGames has deleted hundreds of games on 4 different times. Wasted hundreds of hours inputting data. I have emailed company over a dozen times...NO FEEDBACK! If you have only a few games. Go ahead and use. Serious game collection collectors beware.

Deleted all of my 270 + scanned games

All of the scanned games have been deleted. Only option is to rescan or go with another app.

Update: all games have been restored and all is well. Thank you!

Was what I was hoping for until I simply stopped working

I logged over 100 games in this database and was having a great time. It had everything I wanted in a game collection app...then within mere minutes everything I logged was removed out of nowhere. I closed iCollectVideoGames because it was failing to load pictures, and then reopened iCollectVideoGames to find all but nine of the games I had logged were gone. Peerlessly disappointing.

So cool

Excellent way to keep track of all the games you own! The biggest part though will be remembering to enter in the new games I get!

Don’t buy!

iCollectVideoGames is always having issues—logging me out/not letting me log back in, camera scan not working etc. Now that it’s been bought out from I sort it, it’s telling me I’ve never purchased iCollectVideoGames and is trying to make me re-purchase iCollectVideoGames . Don’t waste your time. iCollectVideoGames has caused me more headache than anything.

Efficient and Reliable

I had issues when iCollectVideoGames originally launched, but improvements have been made. It’s a good app.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Five stars from me, iCollectVideoGames is very convenient and satisfying. I never realized just how many games I actually played until seeing them all together in a neat collection. Wish I’d found iCollectVideoGames sooner. 🙂

Good till you need to pay to do anything

After like 10 scans it prompts you that you have to get the pro version (for $10)
You can no longer scan barcodes, or edit the info. Why would I want to pay $10 to see my library of games on my phone. (It’d be different if it was like $2)

Love it!

Keeps me organized with all my collections.
Fantastic app! I would’ve lost without it.
