Oh Edo Towns Reviews

This game used to be one of my favorites and now it’s riddled with bugs. Every other text is spelled wrong, villagers break, and tasks don’t finish. I have no idea what they did to break it.

After playing many of Kairosoft, I am somewhat dissapoint about this game. It cute and fun, but game play still didn't last long even with 3 map. Too many craft item that didn't make sense with very little effect in general, not that many store to choose from, store level don't see to speed up the game experience, Some special store don't come out at very late of the game no matter how many time you replay it, many building still have only 1 orientation. I end up with nothing to research and built but watching time goes by....

Kairosoft is a unique company to success in USA store, but please stop doing old japanese fashion way of selling exact samiliar game every few months (release game and stop supporting/increasing it content). There are very little improvement of UI, graphic, and game play. All of the game are like different theme of an exact same game. People get tired playing the same thing. $4 isn't cheap, and there are no new future content at all. I can't support game company like that.

I was a bit nervous going into this purchase, I rarely buy 3 to 4 dollar titles but I was hooked!! It's my first Kairosoft game and it was so good I completely forgot about all my other games for a week just to play it. My only complaint would be that there are a ton of trees and stores and not enough land to build them on. I find myself trying to build the next store and having to contemplate about six minutes to decide where to put it, or delete something else to make room. This is the only simulation game where I've had that problem. PLEASEEE add expansions this is my fav game as of now and I need more content!!!! Then I would gladly give this about 17 stars!!

Love this game and wish you would build more construction games instead of fighting games in the future. However, how are we supposed to expand our village when you keep taking away buildings to make combos? Just leave all of the buildings available for reuse.

This game is the best but please add more land to build on and more building otherwise this is the best ever the graphics are amazing

I really recommend trying the lite version of the game first. I have had the game for a while, however, and this is what I think. It took me some time to get into it but here are some the pros and cons I've noticed in the game below.

Pros:
-Cute retro pixel chibi-like graphics.
-No in-app purchases
-Large variety of buildings etc. to build
-Set in an interesting old Japanese era
-If you love building towns/villages especially if you like Japan/Japan's culture you'll like this
-Get to build things wherever* you want
-People in the game do their own thing
-Maps are large

Cons:
-Wish the maps (average/mountain/seaside) looked more different (they are very similar)
-There could have been much more interaction with your villagers
-Warriors do not fight anything
-It is hard to earn money/really easy to get in the negative numbers
-Research and buildings are costly, particularly the further you get in the game
-Difficult to move buildings and have to remove buildings before placing new ones, which is annoying
-Paths are pricey and nature too
-Not much to do compared to other Kairosoft games
-Events are few such as travelers visiting your village, and it's not exciting when they do visit
-Slow progression
-Takes a while to figure out crafts/combos
-The in-game territory map is basically useless in my opinion

Kairosoft games are my go-to when I need a mental get-away. Loved the recent games, but I wish there were more traditional Japanese style games like this one or Ninja Village. Hope there will be more like this in the future!

Absolutely love the gameplay and graphics. I haven't been able to put this down for a couple days now. Will definitely be checking out some of your other titles. The game is overflowing with Japanese cultural references, so if you're into that sort of thing you'll enjoy this even more. For example, it was great having Momotaro come stay at the end.

This game is amazing! I never get tired of playing it. The price is pretty high but it's totally worth it. No matter how many times you play it your city will always be different. There are many different options of what you can build and if you think that it's not worth it then think again because it is the perfect game if your looking for a game where you get to make your own town. Keep up the good work Kairosoft!

I absolutely love this game, and it's now my third of your games. This and Hot Springs are wonderful in part because they're so cultural as well.
However, I do agree with a review that complained of a lack of upgrades or additions to your games. While I'm not bothered that the game-play is pretty identical in all the games, having some upgrades to the games would be nice. It would also affirm your commitment to your customers and create better loyalty.

Anything that Kairosoft makes is an instant buy for me and Oh! Edo Town was no exception. I like seeing what combinations work together and also watching my citizens go around their day. I also like the sprites and the graphic which is why I was drawn to Kairosoft in the first place. However, I don't get why my merchants keep complaining that there is no place for them to work when I placed their workplace right next to their houses. They must be really lazy or something.

When I see Kairosoft above an app's title I just go on and hit the BUY button right away. They aren't perfect -- few games ever are -- but they are all very good and deliver an enjoyable gaming experience. There isn't much different about this game's mechanics from their other games, except for a few little tweaks that improve playability. If you like their other games, you'll like this one too. If you tried any of their other games and didn't like them, then you probably won't like this one either.

It's a great little game that you'll enjoy if you're into games like this.

This is a really cute and fun game. You can repeatedly play this game many times. Each time you can find new combos and new surprises. I really enjoyed to try different planning on the map. Recently I played a map for 100 years and got a thank message at the end of 99 years. Thank you Kairosoft for bringing this fun game to me.

I have played just about all of your games and have yet to be disappointed. They're super easy to play and a ton of fun- addicting as well. I check almost every other week to see if anything new is out, because I can't get enough of your games! Keep up the good work! A hotel game would be awesome-

I agree with all the reviews like " don't think, just buy!" or "Kairosoft has done it again!" This game still deserves 5 stars to a dedicated company but i felt this game seriously is missing something! For some reason Id rather play mega mall... Maybe its because when you select a map and as time goes by nothing serious happens to your terrain and you dont really have other domains really effecting you. Versus you have to budget your investments to get more people and and awarding your self proctection from rain/ economy and have other malls taking jabs at you in mega mall. Keep up the great work! Im sure this will keep me busy until the next release.

I love all your games and I loved this one a lot I was thinking maybe you could make a world war 2 style like game or like ninja village the other game you made.

I’m a huge fan of Kairosoft games and have played all of them! This game is so fun and repayable. Love their new games but would love to see another game with a similar concept to this one.

I was specifically looking for a game that wouldn't require paying for gems or whatever to progress. This development company makes games that fit exactly what I was looking for.

I was just wondering if the games will be updated to fit new iPhone screens. For example, I have an iPhone XS and the game does not fit my screen there are two big black chunks on the tops and bottom as if I have a iPhone 8 or something.

Kairosoft makes really great games. I'm always looking them up first on OhEdoTowns store to see if a new game is out. This game is great just like all the others. Keep up the great work I'll be waiting for your next hit.
On a side note, there is a bug where the newspaper would report a new building is built when its only been unlocked to research.
