More like SyncUseless

The mobile app and desktop version are not user friendly. The mobile app looked as if it was promising with a simple UX design. The layout is HIGHLY inefficient. You aren’t able to preview files. Trying to navigate the convoluted design really makes you appreciate Google Drive, Apple Files, and Dropbox. Not sure how this company is getting large corporations to sign up for this. It’s simply not effective for data managers, marketers, and project planners.

App crashing

Just installed the lates app (ver 4.7.0 / build 2951).
This version supposed to fix a problem where large PDF file will not open, now pdf files open but Syncplicity crash after 2 seconds.
Open a medium size pdf file , wait for pdf to open, wait another 2 seconds, notice app crashes w/o you doing anything.
This is on my iPhone X, iOS version 11.4.1
Was it ever tested?

Update: same issue with latest app version 4.8.0. Latest iOS 12.3.1.
Contacted the developer support about 10 weeks ago. The do not have a fix ...or seem to care....

Can’t open any files

Every file I try to open it says “Unable to load file” is it because the file path name is too long?? Sometimes it’ll open PDFs (emphasis on sometimes) and no chance with any docx or excel files. Intel uses this as part of our internal infrastructure, I honestly don’t know why we don’t just use Dropbox instead...

Nice but needs User Guide

Easy to see the files but I'd like to see athumbnail of a jpg so i know which image to download. And after i select and download an image ionto the iPhone, where does the image go? How do i include the downloaded image ina e-mail? Can i see the image on the iPhone?

I can't figure out where the images can be found...and I can't be the only one.

Doesn’t work on mobile anymore

After the new update, Syncplicity crashes immediately every time I open it. Tried deleting and reinstalling, issue still persists

App still not functional

Even after the latest update, the iPhone & iPad apps still aren’t functional. Syncplicity times out when I request a OTP. I received the OTP text, but Syncplicity freezes & I’m unable to login.

Freezes on OTP

The new version has rendered my this app storage useless for mobile access. Syncplicity freezes on the OTP process and will not allow me to access anything.

Rendered useless by feature downgrade and app crashes

My love affaire lasted very short. Our IT department made a deal with this app and shortly after Roll out of the windows client this app surprised us 4000 employees with a constant update nagging screen which we couldn't do anything about since local admin rights are not available to normal user. If you offer an application in a business environment this is a fat Nono. Once The update was rolled out to my great enjoyment I could not sync anymore from network drives. This feature was deactivated. How convenient that we HAVE to store all relevant data on a network drive for security reasons. Just with one update the whole app lost its single purpose for us. To add insult to injury since iOS8 Syncplicity is constantly crashing on my iPad preventing me from syncing all the files I just copied from the network drive to my local drive. this app has become completely useless over the course of just a couple of days. Don't be fooled by marketing and fanboys ranking Syncplicity high. This deserves zero stars.

Similar to web interface.

This is basically a native app that functions very similarly to the website. I wish it would let me e-mail the document directly, instead of a link to the document. It's nice that I can now upload files to this app from my phone, though the only use I can think of for it right now is sending my pictures to the cloud automatically instead of e-mailing them to myself one by one. (Actually, come to think of it, that's a timesaver already.) I also suppose it's useful being able to open my synced files from my phone, though I'm again unsure when this would be useful for me, as I work with very text-heavy documents and I cannot see myself doing anything with them on my iPhone.

update to windows client rendered this useless for me

this app updated their windows client with this "feature": " The this app desktop client no longer supports syncing files from remote storage locations. These locations include mapped network drives, external storage unc path and removable storage devices such as USB drives. The this app client displays an error message when you attempt to add folders to your this app account from any network share or external drive." I don't store my documents on my local drive, I put them on an external drive, and I wouldn't think I'm alone in this. I unknowingly ran the client update and got a message my file structure was no longer supported. Poof, that's it. And it's not like I'm going to select single folders and files out of my documents tree and drag them onto my c drive. I'm going to Dropbox and using Windows symbolic links to get my content synced in place. Adios this app.

Everyone should use this!!!!

Once you get the hang of setting it up, its a dream to use. For me the best way was to use custom setup where you can pick your files individually. Simply set up a folder on your desktop that is linked to this app and save and move your files into it. Just put the files that you want to sync to other devices or make changes to other files already in this folder and they are in your other device before you can even open and check the other device. No having to drag files into dropbox in order for them to sync. I've stop using Dropbox altogether. Great product!!

Just what I need!

I've been waiting for the release of the this app app after having been a user of the webapp for over a year. The thing that is most helpful to me is the ability to get sharable links from my iPhone where previously you could only do so on a machine that had the client installed. The ability to download and open files on my iPhone is great for when I forget files at home and need them somewhere. What made me choose this app over dropbox is that I prefer being able to have as many folders across my system synchronized as I want, rather than just a single folder with folders in it.

Well worth the wait!

I've used this app for a number of years now to keep my personal files easily accessible on the go and also in sync when I had 2 laptops. I've been waiting for the iPhone app for a while and have had to rely on other competitors apps to fill the gap. Now that I've been using the this app app I can tell you it's been worth the wait and I've deleted the other apps I had been relying on. Syncplicity works like it should with extremely fast load times and easy views of saved documents. Thanks for building a solid foundation, I can't wait to see where it goes from here!

A work in progress...

While it is obviously a work in progress, Syncplicity has made great strides since the first release. The initial release, which would install on an iPad 2, would only allow you to log in...and nothing more.

I have had to...remove myself from some confines as it were in order to use the iPod/iPhone version on the iPad but it works remarkably well (similarly to the short-lived iPad Facebook app).

I am looking forward to a fully supported iPad version that will natively allow me to have access to my this app files on every device I use.

Everything but

I love Syncplicity, as I finally have a platform to sync all my devices with ease. The only thing I have a problem with is the description and functionality of Syncplicity . this app does not actually sync your favorites via push updates. You have to manually open the folder in favorites for the files to update on wifi before using offline. This gets tedious when performed daily. I'd give it five stars if it did this...the newest iOS has this functionality...why doesn't EMC?

Great Product - Better than DropBox

Very flexible, and killer Google Drive integration. Its surprising that Dropbox has so much free press but this fine app doesnt.

Cons:
- Please fix the full screen photo bug - I used to be able to see all my photos full screen with no ipad bars - but now it shows ugly grey background.
- Sync Problems with longer filenames - DB never has this problem, but this app always throws error. Granted, this feedback only applies for the desktop, but its a part of the suite.
