Fly Tyer Magazine Reviews

Just subscribed a couple of days ago for both digital and print versions. I downloaded FlyTyerMagazine as instructed and all copies remain locked on preview only. After preview it said to either register or sign in. I thought I would be registered by subscribing however after 3 days of trying to follow instructions given , I decided to call customer service. I waited on hold for 30 minutes before somebody to me that I would have to follow the directions in the confirmation email. There is nowhere to “register” or “sign in” on FlyTyerMagazine to unlock digital versions. I will attempt another call tomorrow to their “tech” department.

TERRIBLE customer service. It took over a week for customer service to respond to my complaint that I could not access my digital subscription. After responding, they said I’d have access in 24-48 hours. That was about 4 days ago…still no access. Who cares how good the content might be if you can’t access it! Very disappointed in the process, or lack thereof. This seems fundamental. Don’t bother subscribing until this is fixed.

It’s a ripoff if you happen to subscribe through FlyTyerMagazine , and nothing through the magazine itself. NO WAY to restore purchases or contact the developer via FlyTyerMagazine itself. I changed devices because the old iPad from 2012 bit it, and am now without 8 years of paid for content.

And forget about contacting support through FlyTyerMagazine , it’s just not there. Contact developer through the Apple store just leads to the Magazine webpage, and they’re sympathetic but useless.

I subscribed to the paper and digital version. I could not log in. It took me a lot of searching to find customer support. After waiting on the phone, the rep couldn’t help with the digital problem and transferred me to the tech representative. He said he couldn’t fix the problem but would have his supervisor correct the problem in 24 hours…………..

Previously rated FlyTyerMagazine 4, but now a single star is generous. The new app does not load or provide access to all of my previous issues. Also, often can’t access content without an internet connection.

Bring back the old app, at least I access all previous issues, even if I had to view in two page format so the tops of pages weren’t clipped.

Bought the digital sub and it worked for first issue now I can’t login. I have a number of emails with customer support none of them have got me logged in. Reset my password, tried CS solutions, still can’t get in. Great concept horrendous execution. You can’t even navigate back to the home screen you have to close FlyTyerMagazine and reopen it. Then again I can’t even login....

Seemed as though things were fixed for about two to three issues. Now we’re back to no way to recover back issues. No recognition of updated subscription. What a rip off. I feel as though I have had more than a decade of payments stolen with not even one magazine to read.

I spend a great deal of time offline and download and archive my magazines local. App will delete downloads when offline for any period of time. I now find that all my magazines from 2014 till 2019 are missing with no way to restore purchases.

Purchase paper copies if you want to be able to view offline or in the future.

FlyTyerMagazine is horrible

Had years of old issues going back to 2009 bought and paid for. Now cannot access any of them. App refuses to recognize my Apple ID or password. Unless this is fixed soon, the is tantamount to robbery. Do not purchase anything on FlyTyerMagazine, you are simply throwing your money away.

I’m honestly surprised that Apple allows FlyTyerMagazine to remain in the store . I have ha FlyTyerMagazine for years and now I am locked out of all the content that I have paid for. Seriously, pull this down. It’s obvious that you’re just taking people’s money.

I had purchased a number of issues over the years. With this new app I can access none of them. The purchases don’t restore. Don’t give these fools a dime of your money

Subscription for 2 years. Cannot get digital any more even though it was paid for. Just subscribe to the magazine if you want a sure thing.

I have no way of signing in my account to take advantage of the subscription!!

I’ve been a subscriber to Fly Tyer magazine since 2009, and the digital editions since 2012. Now with this new updated app it won’t let me sign in or restore my previous purchases. Terrible!

Not happy with the digital subscription. I am not receiving my digital issues. Getting lame responses from customer service.

Tried to find a recipe or video in current issue, no joy

The restore feature on FlyTyerMagazine doesn’t work. I am afraid that I have lost all previous purchases.

I had three year’s worth of subscriptions here, and now I can’t access them. They aren’t even visible since the update. I want what I paid for! WHY UPDATE FlyTyerMagazine ? IT STILL DOESN’T WORK!

Horrible app wants to keep resetting and not worth it

Afraid I have to agree with the last post. FlyTyerMagazine is buggy and a bit of a POS. I love the rag. Stick with the paper version or perhaps subscribe at the Fly Tyer website. But FlyTyerMagazine should be avoided. I previewed the summer 2011 issue and decided to buy. My 3 dollar purchase only bought me the first six pages. Nothing else. I contacted Fly Tyer and they were no help. They said I'd have to take it up with iTunes. Perhaps that's true, but they are the ones that stand to lose the most. I would have bought every issue had it worked as it should. Oh well! I'll keep tying flies without them.
