Quirky

I’ve found FloorplansPro to be a challenge because either I don’t fully understand how to use it (is there a tutorial somewhere?) or it’s just glitched.
I can use it okay, but it’s frustrating. I would like to see the furniture and other elements made more standardized. You have to make do with over-designed furniture/decor in strange colors that I find distracting. I would like more basic representations, please. I’m confused as to why complete chunks of mini-kitchens are included. Does anyone actually drag and drop something like that into their plan and have it fit? Could there be a better way to create a needed element than to resize a kitchen work surface rectangle?
I have never been able to change the color of objects in FloorplansPro on my iPad Pro. I can change some to a default white (not an option on some objects) , or black, but choosing from the palette of color options results in the object turning black.
I read a couple reviews where people lost their work. I had a major glitchy fail where most of my finished 1st floor plan was shunted off the frame and I ended up with about 1/4 of it showing in the lower right-hand corner, frozen, with the rest of it cut off and irretrievable. I sent an email to see if something could be done, but received no reply.
I will be looking for a better floor plan app, but maybe this is the best out there, idk.

Good, but be careful -

Not bad for a simple floorplan app, but a number of features that would make it great are sadly missing. You cannot define or move rooms - only walls. You cannot create partitions, or define wall height. You cannot sketch, draw, or note on floors. You cannot color lines, walls, or rooms, nor shade them to indicate removal. No snap for basic layout. You cannot rotate the plan once started. A whole laundry list of simple layout items, yet they put their energy into creating simplistic 3d views that usually crash -

Whats worse, is there are certain actions (for instance, changing a door height) that sometimes cause FloorplansPro to crash hard, and you lose ALL work - literally, the entire plan and all you work will disappear, although the file name will remain on an empty file. If you decide to use FloorplansPro, make sure to save multiple copies, and frequently, otherwise you run a serious risk of having to start from scratch suddenly, and unexpectedly. So, don’t rely on it for anything critical -

As bad as all that sounds, I haven’t found anything else that is as simple or does the basic dimensioned drawing this does, and then I can take a screenshot and do simple drawing and edits on that, so for now, its worth a shot -

App works great - wish you could import furniture

Love FloorplansPro - has made our renovation process much easier. I wish you could import additional furniture packages - especially common furniture from places like IKEA, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, and Restoration Hardware. Additional landscaping items would be a bonus too. Overall very happy with FloorplansPro . It’s easy to use and has been useful for discussing plans with our builder and architect.

Sooooo close

BTW I am not an architect. I'm just a average joe trying to layout a floor plan. I have been using FloorplansPro for about 3 weeks. It's it easy to use and fairly intuitive. I have found redoing and changing a floor plan quick an easy. If the developer would fix a few things this could be a 5 star app.
First the 3D function. I'm not sure what I was expecting but that isn't it. The staircases are awful. In 3D mode they look like a giant cube. The view you see in 3D is very " in your face". A more wide angle view would be better.
Second is the choice of staircase icons in 2D mode. The choices are confusing and limited. I wanted to show a few different styles, but always had to try and piece something together which looked awful in 3D as well. A rise/run and angle feature would be helpful when placing the stairs in a room.

All thing considered this is a 3.5 star, very useful app that I think is worth the cost. This could be a 5 star app with some tweaks.

Quirky

I found this quirky on my iPad Pro. Not very responsive to drawing with my finger or with my Apple Pencil. It crashed fairly frequently but fortunately it did not erase my work. 3D rendering was sub-par. It was not easy to get cabinets aligned so the 3D showed what was supposed to be the front of the cabinet. I applied a floor tile which looked good in the 3D rendering but had a hard time getting cabinet colors or counter tops to show a color or material. I suppose if I spent much more time with the program, I would learn all the tricks but I only bought it to redesign one room. By the way, help is minimal and the support from the program website is poor. I posted one question and it was still unanswered 5 days later. I am trying a different program today.

This is a great Floor Plan app!

I am actually surprised by all the negative reviews. Most of the complaints I have read here are very easy to work around. If FloorplansPro is missing a certain piece of furniture or equipment, just use a kitchen workspace and make the size of your custom equipment or furniture then label it as such. Not that hard. For example I use a standard elevator drawling then change the dimensions to show hood space in a kitchen.

I am a professional chef and I designed my home kitchen using FloorplansPro. I have also designed several commercial kitchens using FloorplansPro. When I send the PDFs to the architect they are completely blown away. It saves 75% in their time and billing.

No maintenance updates!!!

The application worked great for the first few months, however the developer have been unresponsive to resolve the crashing issue that have plagued this application for the last several months. When the application was fully functional, it was great. Worked flawlessly and was very easy, clean and professional to use. I’m not sure if the developer has simply lost interest in maintaining FloorplansPro or what their hang up is. Their website/ customer service-support channels are of no use. I’m not sure if anyone is even monitoring their inbox because after several attempts to contact the developer, I have yet to receive a single response from anyone regarding a patch, bug-fix, or an update. Please fix the crashing issues and maintain the program that you charged me for.

Over sold the product

I REALLY wanted to like FloorplansPro. I really did. I was happy to see that it would import PDF files to help in the house / room diagrams and design. That does not work. It imports in but does not allow you add furniture as it keeps saying the house is 40 feet long. When you try and change it you get an error message then FloorplansPro crashes.
When I was able to get it to work and attempted to add a bed the bed was bigger than the room. I was unable to reduce the size or check on size and fit. Frustration took place and I deleting FloorplansPro .
Ive asked for a refund as I think $15 is a lot. I wished there was a DEMO version of this so I could have known this before going through this hassle.

1 crash within an hour

I’m a beginner user and I just started playing around with FloorplansPro , I’m using an iPad Pro 2nd Gen, I was adding a wall to separate a simple rectangle and FloorplansPro closed. Reopened and my work was still there. I will continue to play with FloorplansPro . Adding a wall to a rectangle using the single line function results in an “overlapping wall” warning. That seemed to be the intuitive way at adding a wall, perhaps I’ll have to do a little digging to see if there are some instructions somewhere. So far so good pending any more crashes if the plans actually get to be in depth.

Lost Hundreds of Hours of Work

We are trying to build a custom home, and I was working on about five plans that I meticulously created in the program. All of a sudden, CRASH, and that was it! I have tried everything, reboot, delete and reinstall the program, and no matter what I try, all I get is the endless spinning circle when I click on one of my floor plans. Toast! I’m back to Paper and pencil... at least they don’t crash!

If you’re wondering, yes I had everything backed up. But the files are only compatible with this silly program. Nothing else can open them! Again... Toast!

3D not working in versions 2.8.1, 2.8.2 or 2.8.3

Love FloorplansPro !! Don’t get me wrong... There’re a few things to fix, however. 3D is not working ok since version 2.8.1, and FloorplansPro crashes a lot. Painting walls can be difficult sometimes. Would love to have more 3D furniture. Not all bugs were fixed in version 2.8.3!

Good app

I've been using FloorplansPro for a few years now. It helped when we renovated my daughters salon. Now I'm using it again to plan out a new business that we're opening in a couple of months! Just wish there were more items to chose from.

Crashes constantly

I’ve used FloorplansPro for years and recommended it to a lot people. The last couple of updates have made it unusable. It constantly crashes when doing basic actions such as moving an object around the canvas. I cannot open any of my complex plans or multi floor plans as they all crash. I cleaned out a lot of draft plans and it’s still constantly crashes.

It’s a pity because thus was the best floorplan app out there.

Great Scene diagram tool!

I investigate fires and have to make scene diagrams. FloorplansPro is wonderful because it helps me recreate the scene. The only other things that would be great to see is a “Fire Investigation Tool” Field to add to the CSI Pack.

DO NOT BUY - Unable to use app

While this promised to deliver, sadly it did not. I was unable to purchase any of the in-app packages, not that it would have made any difference, because when I actually tried to use FloorplansPro , it would repeatedly crash (about once a minute). “Customer support” was non-existent and non-communicative. I’m currently seeking a refund directly through Apple since the seller is incommunicado.
