Zero functionality unless you register with an email. Instant delete

No explanations

It displays commands using weird git-xxx-xxx format which is not a git command at all. It makes very little effort to tell you what the command does. Git is complex, and GitCommandsFlashcards doesn't help you much.

Why do I have to sign in?

There is no way to use GitCommandsFlashcards without creating an account and signing in. Why?

Doesn't work without creating a custom account

A simple app should.

Why to Sign in/ Sign up?

I don't want to login or create new account at all but just want to use GitCommandsFlashcards as is.

Demands sign up

GitCommandsFlashcards demands a sign up with Facebook or e-mail for anything. No thanks!

Have to Sign up?

I’m gone

In violation of App Store rules

Supports social sign in, but not Sign In with Apple

Out of touch devs

At least let me see if GitCommandsFlashcards is worth the effort of signing up before forcing it on me.

Especially with all the data leaks, who wants their data in yet another random server with who knows what security policy? And Facebook has no need to know anything about other apps I use.

The whole setup just strikes me as the devs being totally out of touch with their target audience for this kind of app.

Also kind of ironic that you can’t use github to authenticate.

Auto-generated, mostly useless

I did the flash cards for git. They seemed to be auto-generated from the man pages for the software. The snippets of information they provide are essentially useless in isolation from one another. They don't answer the question of "why" you need to know a particular fact or "how" it might be useful in your future work. No one with actual knowledge of git was likely involved in making them.

Nice app

I like GitCommandsFlashcards but sure would like a way to read a longer description of the purpose of each command. It would be really cool if each cmd had a link to examples to.

One small thing

Great app. However, I sometimes find it hard to relate their use-of-terms to actual commands I types. Instead of "git-xxx-xxx", showing the actual commands would be better.

Nice app

Useful for leaning git commands. The account registration page has a glitch. It does not scroll up or down on an iPhone 4S.

Great app for a great idea,

The only thing keeping me from rating this at 5 stars is adding a link to the documentation so I can read up on the command I'm being quizzed on. That would be a welcome and very helpful addition. Besides that, just what I needed.

Like!

I love education, especially in a tech-format, allowing students (of all sorts) choose & progress at their own pace. Just started using, but I truly like GitCommandsFlashcards so far! I recommend that others try it.

Hitting the Book

I'm finding new commands all the time that I didn't know existed. Finding myself hitting the book up again to learn even more.

Loving the help system. Up front when valuable, out of the way when not needed. No "Clippy" system here.

Ha nice

Just helps you memorize your git commands, like it says. I use it while I'm sitting on the can, and I'm already faster with Git because of it.

Perfect Study Tool

If you're looking for an easy to use study tool this ones perfect for the job.

Clever, self-policed studying.

Let's you keep track of how well you know each topic.

Great way to learn!

I always heard flashcards were a great way to learn. I just never took the time to create any or even look at flashcards, because I did not want to carry index cards are pull them out. I am on my phone all the time and going through flashcards is a good use of time.
