Ok, this is really getting annoying! When OurDailyBread received its newest update version OurDailyBread would not open! Realize everyone that updated to the new version was also experiencing the same thing! Wrote a review and the developers advised to delete OurDailyBread . Once that was done OurDailyBread worked. Now as of April 1, 2021 OurDailyBread is blank for today’s reading, and when you click on the month it opens and the spinning wheel just continues to spin like it’s trying to open! VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! I thought it was a April fool joke but this is getting annoying because the next day it’s the same! Someone on the develop team is/has been slacking on working out the quirks to OurDailyBread!!!

And other main issue is when the new version was updated you all took away the motivation count of how many days being read! This was a cool feature and very motivating!! WHY?!??! Not liking none of this. And when mentioned about the day count on my last review complaint, the developers only address the crashing of the new version, and failed to mentioned about the day count. Could address that as well please?!?!?!? God bless!!!

My girls and I read ODB each morning and have really enjoyed it. I love that i can share it with people and easily go back and reread or read ones we’ve missed. This morning i could not get OurDailyBread to open and saw that it had done an Update. I had to delete OurDailyBread and reinstall it to get it to work. I will say that we are not too thrilled about this latest updates format/layout and find that the layout they had previously was much more user friendly when it came to finding and accessing what you are looking for. Especially when looking for past days devotions.

I've used the Our Daily Bread devotions for many years now and enjoy them a lot! I will frequently bookmark the ones that speak to me and share them at the beginning of church meetings.

I do have one issue and one request. OurDailyBread will freeze if I try opening it at certain times of the day - I'm not sure if that's when it has the heaviest load and thus has trouble downloading the devotion or what. The second is that I find the "You read x days in a row!" counter very demoralizing. I only use OurDailyBread as part of my weekday routine so every week I'm starting over and feeling like a failure since I can never get over 5. I would love to see an option added to be able to turn that off. Some people may appreciate that extra bit of motivation, but for others, it's very guilt producing - not what you want from a devotion app that is supposed to build your faith up.

I love OurDailyBread personally! Only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because OurDailyBread constantly crashes on me. I’ve tried closing out OurDailyBread , reopening it, deleting OurDailyBread , downloading it back, turning off my phone and same issue still applies. As soon as I choose the day for the lesson, it immediately freezes and I can only read the top portion, can’t even stroll down to continue reading. I used to read it everyday, but I’m not even excited to on my phone anymore just because I can never get through a whole lesson, unless I wait 5 minutes just for OurDailyBread to unfreeze or not close out on me. My phone is brand new, and I only have this issue with OurDailyBread. Please fix!!

I’ve always loved the content, style, variety, and presentation of the devotions, going all the way back to when I was reading the paper version! I love the journal entry option, however, when I’m typing a journal entry, I get about 4 or 5 lines in and it doesn’t scroll while I’m typing, it disappears behind the keyboard on the screen and I can’t see what I’m typing. I also don’t know if there is a character limit, as I have made a New Years resolution to make a journal of my daily prayers and I can’t really see more than the five lines (using Apple iPhone 8 Plus). Thanks so much.

Whenever I open ODB, it freezes up on me like for a couple seconds. I didn’t have that problem before.
Also, the pictures at the end of the articles are not downloading. I used to download and share them on my Facebook wall. It was my way of sharing God’s Word to my FB friends. I checked the Setting and the download images is ON. I don’t know what the problem is.
I’m sure it's not an internet issue because my Plan & provider are the same. I tried deleting & installing it back on. Nothing happens. I’ll try to do that one more time- delete, reinstall.

I love OurDailyBread as a devotional, and have used it for several years. I would give it 5 stars for content.

Some months ago there was a major update to OurDailyBread —structure and functionality changed. While the aesthetics are really nice, they came at the price of function. OurDailyBread is much slower in opening, and so I changed my settings to have it start with today’s devotion to bypass someof the issues.

However, last month OurDailyBread wouldn’t launch, it would start then return me to my phone’s home screen. I tried restarting my phone, but that left we with a white screen on launch (except for the frame). The help section said to delete and restart OurDailyBread , which I did, but I lost all of my history except my user profile.

Now it’s happened again, and I’m faced with the same “solution”. I love the content. I wish I could go back to the earlier version before all of the aesthetic changes.

I absolutely love this daily devotional. Getting it through my kindle app I am able to read it and read the Bible in a year. This year 2020 is the first time I received this opportunity for the first time for the start of April 1sr day. I’ve read every day since. I have very bad site but with the Kindle app I can make the print large enough to read it.

I’m looking forward to reading next years edition. I love that it has the bible readingsin it. I can’t read a book bible because the print isn’t large enough for me.

Love ODB. Been reading daily for about 15 years and using their app for about 10. Really like the new layout. Sure, the last couple of days it was not working since the latest update but that’s not a reason to one star OurDailyBread . Cmon people, be patient and just write to app support. Any how, the stories the authors write are always thoughtful and relevant to our daily struggles and how scripture has an answer. I just can’t go a day without ODB. Thanks to all the contributors who dedicate their time to making scripture relevant to our lives.

It’s always nice to start the day with some motivation. Or even durning the day if I need a little guidance or a reset. Sometimes I keep reading the past devotionals until I find something that moves me. Daily Bread has been around for as long as I can remember and it’s sooooo nice to have OurDailyBread available. You can read past devotions, from years ago!!! Reading plans that challenge you to accomplish yet inspiring for journaling session. It costs nothing for OurDailyBread . Thank you for changing my life and those authors and persons that contribute to make OurDailyBread a reality. You have blessed me and will continue to bless others.

Ps I love how you can comment on the days reading and read others comments in a totally different section for that day. That was really really cool to keep that divided. It allows for individual interpretation first and optional to read

I still have it a 5 star review because you guys are awesome. Just needed to let you guys know that every three weeks to a month out of nowhere OurDailyBread doesn’t want to load up. I click on it and it acts like it’s going to load and then my phone goes back to Home Screen. This has happened to me quite a few times and the only way to correct it is by deleting OurDailyBread and reinstalling it. Please look into it. Thank you! I’ve been listening to the daily bread for several years it was a gift from an old friend who had passed away that I met at Bonnaroo his name was Bill Simmons I’m very thankful for the daily bread and will continue to read it and listen daily it had froze up on me several times the way to fix it is to delete OurDailyBread and then reinstall itI hope this helps someone who has this problem because for sure I know the daily bread is helped my life and I’ve shared it with many many others God bless you all

Hello. I have been trying to open the most updated version of Our Daily Bread app on my totally updated iPad (has the latest iOS, etc.), but it keeps crashing every time I try to open it. I see there was an update yesterday (Nov 18). Must be a bug that needs fixed. Just thought I would take the time to communicate this if it helps get you some tech specs you may need. If not, no big deal! Thanks for all your service and great work, and I look forward to the fixed app. With love and appreciation—a lifelong Our Daily Bread fan.

I’ve been a reader/listener of ODB since Les Lamborn was reading on ODB. Every time there were change, I always struggled with the change. I wouldn’t like the voice until I got use to it, then ODB would change again. They really got me when every reading had a different voice, but I got used to that as well. Now with the new format, I can go through the archive and listen to Les Lamborn again as well because the archives goes back as far as 2011. There are reading plans, and the ability for you to have multiple reading plans and so much more. Thanks ODB for the extended Archive!

I too have read your daily devotions for years. I Love it and especially the pictures also. I make it my Very day task to send you daily bread on Facebook and Twitter, hoping some one will read and know the LORD I serve. I would love if there was some way to post on instagram, but, your website doesn’t offer that. Thank you for sharing a GOD given devotion to us daily.

Just to add a request. I love the pictures with the Dailey devotions and am still sending your devotional to Facebook & Twitter.

My request is to either remove or change the picture Dailey that comes up when you open OurDailyBread . This same Picture has come up every single day, week, month. Thank you, I certainly don’t mean this as a criticism. Thank You.

I love OurDailyBread. It has such great Godly principles in it. My heart is sad today, after the update done 3 days ago I have had to delete my app and reload it this morning. I have not been able to call it up yesterday or today. In my ignorance I’ve just been reading and not signing in and now today I am sure my history is lost, but it’s my fault. I will sign in and start my “read” history again. I thank the writers for sharing their heart - they truly know God and Jesus, and not just about him. The insight at the end of each reading is positively eye opening. Thank y’all so much. I have learned, discovered or found so much wisdom and comfort in these readings.

OurDailyBread always has great content and I try to make daily use of the "Read the Bible in a Year" feature. This latest update has a nice layout which makes it a bit more intuitive to read - no more swiping left and right or going back from the bottom to the top to access the "Read the Bible in a Year". Adjusting the font size is done from the bottom right menu button, then tap "Reading Settings", choose your font options. But don't forget to tap "Save" or the settings won't be kept.
I can't log in without OurDailyBread crashing (using iOS 14.4 on iPhone 11), even after deleting and reinstalleing it, but I don't really have a reason to login so that hardly matters to me.

Yesterday morning i opened OurDailyBread to begin reading but there was no picture and it first i thought that Satan was causing the problem. Of course there was no text. I was able to go to the Daily Bread website and was able to retrieve the message for the day.
For the past 5 years on every Friday your devotions have been a blessing to families and individuals as we deeply study each scripture. I read a study the passage before on a Tuesday to make for preparation for Friday. Unfortunately i am unable to do this if my access is on a daily basis. Normally i receive the printed copy every month but this month i had yet to receive one.
What ever you can do will be helpful for individuals, and myself, to get to know Christ Jesus more.

Uninstall/Reinstall - Works Perfect!!!!

Have been using OurDailyBread for a few months now and am really happy with the recent update. Here are a few highlights for me:

- The daily readings have a much cleaner appearance and are even easier to digest now. I particularly like the new headings for each reading section.

- The addition of the message audio is fantastic for those who commute or are multitasking.

- The suggested series-continuations are a great way to offer further depth if you’re interested in a particular message theme.

- Biggest new plus are the “Insights” listed at the bottom of the daily reading. They help give context to the message content and frame where the message is coming from in scripture.

Although the previous versions may have had a couple of these features, or variations of them, this new format and presentation are much more refined.

All in all, I’m very happy for the update!!

[Only downside was that my phone didn’t auto-update OurDailyBread like I have it setup to. After OurDailyBread continued crashing 3days straight, I just uninstalled/reinstalled, which obviously fixes the issue and allowed for the update. Not OurDailyBread ’s fault necessarily, so still a 5star review.]

First of all, this whole program is truly a blessing. OurDailyBread has made it so much easier for me to strengthen not only my faith, but my relationship with God. I have learned so much about the Bible and about life that I could not have learned on my own, considering my busy schedule and plethora of other excuses.

OurDailyBread has made my worship more efficient in most cases, but there is something that has been bugging me. I really like to make a note of something that sticks with me, and the private journal is a perfect concept to do so; however, it is incredibly glitchy. Half of the time, I lose a whole entry because the save button disappears. This happens nearly every time I write an entry, and there is no apparent cause. Developers, if you could work on this, I would greatly appreciate it!! Other than that, I wholeheartedly appreciate OurDailyBread, and I’m not sure who I would be without it. Thank you so much!!

I’ve complained before on how you only keep a few comments for us to read. If I’m later than usual getting up, I miss some of the people I follow because you stopped allowing everyone’s comments to stay. There is a family here that many of us follow and love to read their comments. I’ve been on OurDailyBread for many years and know you have purposely changed it as at one time all comments were kept. I find this very frustrating and sad. Would you PLEASE change your app to allow all comments to stay.
Many times I have tried to post a comment and it never posts. I read of others complaining as to why their comments aren’t posting. Would you please fix this?

I really like the content and the layout of OurDailyBread, but I deleted it out of frustration because it’s very glitchy. After trying to click the link to read the associated bible passage I’m unable to scroll up or down on the page or even go back. I have to physically get out of OurDailyBread all together and restart it. Doing this several times while trying to get into a flow of spending time connecting to God’s word is simply annoying. If developers can fix this I’d say it’s a great app!

Our Daily Bread app is a really good app for Christians who love having a close relationship with God. It doesn’t only give you verses but an understanding of the verses with real life scenarios. When I started using Our Daily Bread as a guest it was very easy to use. I could do my quiet time no problems. Then I made an account so that all my notes could be saved, but when I logged in everything I had done as a guest had been deleted. Also, after I acquired an account the journal would let me type, but not let me save, so I would have to copy and paste it or type it again.

I enjoy listening to the daily readings, and appreciate learning how to pronounce certain names in the Bible, but the one downfall is that lately, he’s been starting over, at the beginning, even after I’ve closed out OurDailyBread after he’s finished. I don’t know if others have had the same problem or not, but I thought you would want to be aware of it. That’s the only thing that is keeping me from giving it 5 stars. I had hoped it would have been resolved with the last upgrade, but perhaps it hadn’t been a problem for other app users.

I must say I love OurDailyBread! It really spearheads my devotion time with the Lord in the mornings. But ever since July and I want to say after the fourth of July holiday the original reader has not been reading. It’s unfortunate because I really really really appreciated how much I was able to connect with God through that original reader. I would be kinda down sometimes but after hearing a great word from the author of the day and the original reader reading it would lift my spirits instantly! Please consider and bring him back. He has a true gift.

The developer reached out and asked me to clear OurDailyBread cache and remove and reinstall OurDailyBread . Unfortunately, that did nothing. OurDailyBread still freezes on my iPhone X and I still can’t scroll or swipe up or down to see the devotion.

To take it to the next level I began to journal on each days entry. I begin to type in my entry but when I’m ready to hit the save button, it disappears! It never reappears for me to save the entry when I’m done. So if I wrote anything at all, short or long, I’m not able to save it. It worked well the first few times and now not at all. It’s annoying and frustrating. Please fix this feature. Thank you.

I’ve been reading Our Daily Bread since I was a kid. In recent years and to my delight, it’s an app. But like most apps, this requires a password. This is annoying especially when you have forgotten your password. All I want to do is read the daily passage, pray and move on with my day. So I’m going to use the online interface. I’m guessing the password is required because of the possible purchases from the sponsor could be compromised. I get it. However once I put in my password, I wish that I never have to do it again.

That is not the case. For some reason, I have to re-enter it. I’m trying to figure if there’s something I did.

Nonetheless in the time it took to create this first and last review, I could have figured out the password and enjoyed all the wonderful things I enjoy about OurDailyBread itself. I love the night setting, the font adjustments and the passages. OurDailyBread has been a convenient way for me to start my meditation and enjoy Bible study. I hope the truths are always rooted in the Bible. May those who speak be blessed and encouraged to continue God’s work. (Just imagine that other guy voiced ODB for how many days and years. Well done good and faithful servant!) A new voice each day is interesting.

Folks at ODB, please remove the feature of your app that insists on informing me I’ve read several days in a row, and pats me on the back then tells me to keep it up. I’m fairly certain this wasn’t there an update or two ago.

Think about it. I open up the ODB app on my phone with the intention of reading, exactly the purpose of OurDailyBread . Then I see this annoying banner that states the obvious and apparently tries to ‘encourage’ me to do what I was going to do anyway.

It’s not encouraging, it’s annoying and distracting, not to mention very tedious and unnecessary. If y’all want to add additional and useful features to your app I’m down for it, this isn’t one of them.

As a child, I would see Our Daily Bread devotionals all over my church in small book form. Every book that I got my hands on was both inspirational and intriguing.

Now that it is in a convenient app that not only inspires you to read your devotional on a daily basis, it also has a new devotional every day that is written by a diverse group of individuals with an assortment of racial backgrounds. From individuals who grew up in Asia to those who grew up here in the Americas, this devotional has a bit for everyone to be inspired and hear the message of God.

I’ve been reading the Daily Bread for I’m guessing 30-35 years. I’ve always found it beneficial, encouraging and always perfect for what I needed for each day.
The writers have always shared Gods word in a loving beautiful and accurate way. I have always been incredibly thankful for those who put the time and effort into making Our Daily Bread such a great daily devotional. It is such a huge blessing!!
