We have a subscription to the newspaper therefore we shouldn’t be charged for our access to digital news. Maybe we’ll just cancel it all and use something else like the local news stations for the news.

Update: still, every couple of weeks syracusecom refuses access to articles and asks me to restore purchase, even though I’m clearly logged in. So I have to delete syracusecom and download it again. This is a huge inconvenience.

I pay for digital access, I can see that I’m properly logged in, and yet when I click on a link to an article from the top stories page I can’t go any farther than the curtain of subscribe now page. I choose restore purchase and it just doesn’t work. App people, please look into!

I feel it’s insulting to people who live in Syracuse to make us pay to read your misspelled articles and misleading headlines. Tell your reporter to also stop attacking people who comment on the comment links too. It’s the same man I see every time attacking your readers. It’s so tacky and unprofessional.

Please update syracusecom - it makes my phone freeze, it is almost unusable with the ads, which seems crazy since I pay a subscription and still have ads.

price is ridiculous, and looks like they somehow cleaned out they’re reviews. the suddenly have a bunch of positive ones, That’s why I redownloaded. but nope they somehow cleaned out all the negative reviews to look better but syracusecom is still crap. don’t waste your time or money.

This is by far the worst app on my iPhone. Is it because not compatible w iPhone 12 Pro? It locks up. It can’t forward articles. At times can’t scroll. I finally broke down and purchased the Syracuse dot com subscription and syracusecom is worthless.

Please update and get this thing working.

I will never pay that much per month for second rate journalism. $15 per month is absurd! Netflix is cheaper! Articles are full of errors and are rarely proofread. New York Times is more affordable and is the gold standard in journalism! There are other sources for local news that are free. I’ll be visiting those sites from now on. See ya!

Pay for a subscription then be constantly hounded for your login and password and then get error messages even though you saved the info and you’re sure it’s correct. Go around in circles for hours. Frequently crashes. App design matches the level of journalism with typos and spelling and grammar errors galore.. and of course filthy, trashy clickbait ads. Apple, you are equally responsible for allowing this abomination!

Disappointing because there is decent content, Syracuse Orange basketball and local area news and events. So I became a subscriber for a couple years and I frequently was not allowed access to subscriber content. After repeated requests for assistance with no response/results I cancelled it. No great loss as I get just as good Syracuse Orange sports news from Troy Nunes Magician for free.

Remember when you could read for free? Recall posts that were 2-3 sentences long and full of grammatical errors that were not updated? Its been a few years and now they require you pay for most of the content. The few articles worth reading aren’t worth paying for. Same writing issues exist.

I find and read it all for free on the internet and do not subscribe to this ridiculous ad-filled garbage.

Syracuse Newspaper has a history of not being customer friendly when I complained of constantly receiving wet newspapers and explaining with a back & neck injury it hurt to hold heavy wet papers to read... and they did nothing to correct the problem.
Double billing was the last straw!

I don’t think syracusecom has enough ads and paywalls. Maybe you could add a few more, just so that when I’m reading one of the 2 free access ads, they pop up and interrupt my attempt at finding news.

No way to refresh the newsfeed. Have to force quit. Scrolling through news, it automatically scrolls backwards when you pause. I don’t understand how apps like this make it through QA - did no one test this?

I used this as my way of finding out local news, but now I can’t rely on it. Almost every article I try to read it kicks me off saying I have to subscribe to read it. It’s too bad I really enjoyed syracusecom!

Still very buggy. Share button only works sporadically, “done” button broken. They fixed the bug where clicking a link if a story was open wouldn’t get you there, but now once you’re there you have to force quit to get the page to close. It’s 2021 people, high school kids are coding apps more elegantly than this. Luckily the shoddy appsmanship matches the shoddy journalism perfectly so no unrealistic expectations. Icing on the cake you have to log in over and over and over. I guess they’re worried if someone steals and unlocks my phone they won’t have to pay for poorly conceived, poorly written, and poorly edited stories about local restaurants going out of business?

Since the most recent update I’m unable to load syracusecom on my IPad Air. I have been using syracusecom for years. Just can’t believe that I have now been left out.

Love syracusecom but blinking ads major it unusable. Yes it gets my attention. No you cannot turn them off.

Since a paid subscription has been required I have lost most desire to use.

I love to look through the story’s see what’s up in sports and happenings in the world but being charged $15 a month to look at news I’ll just down load a TVs station for free
