97 9 The Box Reviews

979TheBox and I have a toxic connection. I enjoy to listen often, mostly when at work in the clinic, but 979TheBox plays when it wants. It often forces close. Today since about 7:20 am it continuously forces close, when reopening it forces close. Please invest more money into 979TheBox. We would like to use it more without constant complication.

979TheBox is horrible and probably the worst music app I’ve ever used. You have to listen AND watch 5 ads before you can hear music. They make you physically close the ads on the screen to make them go away. Impossible and unsafe to use in a vehicle while driving. If you get a phone call 979TheBox stops playing music and you have to go through the same unsafe tapping of a tiny X to get back to music. Only reason I use it is because I don’t live in Houston and this is the only way for me to listen to 97.9. I HATE 979TheBox. You’d think they would put effort into making it better but nope. It’s terrible and only a matter of time before someone dies trying to use it.

979TheBox is just ok it's out of sync it's not real time it's almost 3-5 mins behind the actual radio and every time I use 979TheBox it says needs to be updated so I try and it literally goes to a blank Internet page and doesn't update. Needs to be corrected

App has worked without a hitch for the entire year up until last week. It will not play and continues to give an error message. I have deleted and reinstalled it with no luck for a week. All of my other AirKast apps work properly.

does it need internet to workk????

I've been waiting on this for awhile now and glad to have it! Needs to run in the background and the sound quality needs to be improved. In comparison of other music streaming apps this one lags in the sound quality department. Anyway thanks for 979TheBox !!!!

Glitches some times when opening app with pop ups, and way too many commercials at one giving period.

I love being able to listen to live radio on the go. I've been trying to do that about a year without success- now I don't have to stream online. THANK YOU FOR 979TheBox!! My only complaint is that the option to run in the background doesn't work. I have a 3GS and my husband has a 4 but neither of us have been able to get that function to work. If that gets fixed, then 979TheBox will be even more awesome!

I love this station and I listen to it all the time! I would give it a 5 but the update has bad sound quality. I listen to 979TheBox daily and am a little disappointed. Also there is a two minute delay so if you are looking to participate in contest don't bother. Otherwise I'm happy to be able to listen to my favorite radio station anywhere I go!

Jimbo is corny and silly. Oh and cool as he//. J-Macks laugh is very contagious. Nete is the realist. Rob G. Uhhhhhhhhhh only cuz them d@mn cowgirls. Other than that he's a heck of a DJ. Hatta.... Seems like u keep em altogether, cuz y'all make an awesome team.

I freaking love 979TheBox! I have been telling all my friends that it is classified as a MUST HAVE. Stand up Houston! Yes, in H-town to my area, Da Trill, you can find me on 979TheBox! What's ONLY NEEDED is for it to have the capability to multitask so I can text and tweet while in 979TheBox!

This is my fav. Radio station!!!!!! I recently relocated to a new state and with 979TheBox it makes me feel as if i'm still close to my hometown

I moved away from home and I miss this station soooo much, love that I found it again because these radio stations in South Carolina are not that great :/

I am originally from Houston now living in San Diego California and you guys make my days at work and my drive home worth wild. Mad Hatta morning show is the real deal!!!!!!!

Well I just would like to say.. I NEVER review apps! But 97.9 Da Box deserves My review! ABSOLUTELY hands down THE BEST radio station in Texas! Probably the best in the nation imo.. I jam to them when I'm in Houston tx and even on my way back to Austin it gets depressing to loose signal to the best station! But with the 97.9 app I can take the station EVERYWHERE I GO! even at work everyone is like.. "What station is that!? They jammin!" I say the one and only 97.9 The Box! 👌👍❤️ everyone I know now downloaded 979TheBox and listens to 97.9!

I’ve been listening to 97.9 the box sense they were aMagic102. first that’s how long it’s been listening wow I am amazed andI support 979TheBox one of the best apps one of the first apps of the radio station that I download it works very well just to commercials that starts but everything else is great
