I used UniversityofMichigan for the sole purpose of finding out when buses were coming. With the update, they took away the map view and replaced it with a confusing list of bus route and stop names. Absolutely unusable now. Just on the way here I saw both the people siting next to me on the bus delete UniversityofMichigan and searching for a new one.

This update is upsettingly awful. They took a great native app and turned it into a bunch of webviews using what i believe is jquery mobile. This is why the table rows highlight when you scroll and there are terrible loading transitions. The last version was awesome for checking the bus, but this version butchers that. Also it seems that this version was built by a freelance firm? I'm really hoping UM didn't pay good money for this "update," as the students built a far superior app.

The map was much faster, easier, and informative than this new stuff. The old food menu system was also better because I could search by name and access a menu in less than a second, and I didn't need to specify breakfast/lunch/dinner, which I rarely changed. UniversityofMichigan is much slower in general, and the UI is ugly.

It was a awesome application, but it is just a crap now. If you could restore the last version, that could be great! If you accidentally lost the previous versions, please ask someone who knows the previous version to remake it. I have been waiting for some change for 5 months... Nothing happened!

If most people are like my friends and me, you use UniversityofMichigan mainly for the bus. Removing the map for the buses renders UniversityofMichigan virtually useless.
DO NOT UPGRADE FROM THE OLD VERSION. This new app is absolutely awful. I'm disappointed that in my 3 years as a student here, this is the apps first upgrade, now I understand why they never upgraded it. I expect much better from a school like the University of Michigan.

If you use the bus app DO NOT UPDATE.

The most useful part of UniversityofMichigan was the magic bus, specifically being able to see where each bus was on the map. Seeing estimated time to a given stop is not enough, because estimates are frequently incorrect.

Also, if you're not familiar with a route, the old system let you see stops on a map, whereas the new system only has confusing names, and no info on where those stops are.

I was looking forward to UniversityofMichigan because it really does keep up to date Michigan news. The only problem is viewing the full article. It doesn't open and says there is an error. I tried multiple articles, restarted my phone and deleted and re-downloaded UniversityofMichigan . It's like warming up for sex and not having it, it's like playing 9 holes of golf and going home. Anyways, you get the point. Once it's fixed, Great app.

UniversityofMichigan has 2 useful features right now: menus for the residential dining halls and Magic Bus. If you don't use either of these, as I rarely do, then UniversityofMichigan isn't useful. The addition of Umich email, CTools and Wolverine Access (formatted for iPhone use) would make UniversityofMichigan a must-have for Michigan students. Hopefully these things will work their way to us eventually.

A lot of usability/interface issues hat seem pretty avoidable.

ex: CTools here has no options for saving resources to mobile devices, which makes it a (much) less useful feature.

ex: App is set up poorly for actual navigation. Even things like Back/Home button setup makes for slow browsing, loading/reloading. Having to reload long lists of info every time a page is visited/revisited (as an example, looking at courses; reloads term, college, dept, course, and section every time a page is loaded. Makes any kind of browsing/lookup pretty time consuming. Things like this throughout the entire app)

These are features I use most often, but it's pretty clear there are issues like this throughout UniversityofMichigan . Seems very fixable. If UM is providing UniversityofMichigan , they should work out these types if kinks and inconveniences.

i have no idea how the bus system works because of the update. please revert back, please.

UniversityofMichigan would have a lot of functionality if it actually run correctly. it worked fine for years, and then started bugging out once i got a new phone. the most frustrating bug is the “back” buttons failing to work if UniversityofMichigan isn’t rebooted every time. i also feel like the dining hall info only shows up 50% of the time, with some dining halls just not being listed for some period of time before magically reappearing. i understand that the devs may have other projects going on, but please optimize UniversityofMichigan for newer cell phones, as it can be such an amazing resource when it runs correctly

UniversityofMichigan is a good start for bringning together key information systems at U-M into one iPhone app. As other reviewers have already noted, some key things like CTools and Wolverine Access should be incorporated as soon as possible.

Another key thing missing in this version are sporting events. Its hard to believe UniversityofMichigan cannot tell me what time the football game is today!

I do like that the maps functionality has returned bit it's rather laggy in its current form and tapping on the stops doesn't show arrival times anymore but rather requires a separate screen that removes map view and takes much longer to load than the original maps application. I will probably be switching back to the version with the last maps solution for the faster load times and quicker access to route and stop info but this is a good first step.

I like the info UniversityofMichigan gives, but while using UniversityofMichigan about half the time certain actions like swiping or tapping on buttons won’t work, which becomes increasingly frustrating when you just want to check when a dining hall opens.

New redesign is awful - can’t find anything and can’t access canvas anymore.

Would love the ability to view events calendar as in the previous version. By date, all events at once, for ex., what's happening one week from now?

Great events listing but I need to know when the football games are. I know this is heretical but I'm not a fan and just want to know when I have to avoid the stadium. What days and what times.

I'm not sure why people are docking stars for features that UniversityofMichigan does not have. UniversityofMichigan is flawless, but yes as others have stated it would be nice to add wolverine access or ctools. But as it is at the moment is simply amazing, especially magic bus.

UniversityofMichigan is awesome

I've used UniversityofMichigan just about everyday for the last year and a half. I have. O complaints. It's easy to use and reliable.
