Mostly ok

I would rather have a game like the one that used to be free with Windows 7, where strategy was important and you were scored by how you removed the tiles. For instance if you could get all the ‘dragon ‘ or ‘wind’ tiles off together you got a higher score, it wasn’t just matching two tiles as fast as you could.
Also, lately, the ads have been getting very annoying, the x to close one ad shrunk to almost nothing and is partially hidden by the game so you can’t help but touch the game which takes you to another screen and you have to go back to play your game. The one for Candy Crush doesn’t give you an x at all, I’ve taken to just closing my screen completely to get away from it.
If this continues I will probably just uninstall MahjongTitan .

Needs a little tweaking

Totally understand the need for ads, but when the ads get so intrusive and take multiple screens to close, they interfere with game play. I wasn’t sure until today, but the timer shouldn’t start until you actually start clearing the tiles. I’m fast, but it wasn’t possible to earn the 3 stars because of how long the ad was with multiple screens to close it. Love the music, it is soothing and helps me relax. I would consider paying to remove the ads. Developers work hard designing it and have done a great job, but if I notice things that interfere with game play, it’s a no. Lack of developer response to users is another reason I wouldn’t pay for it.

Mahjong Titan

I always have fun playing this game but if I had to tell u its downfalls I guess too many ads ( in between each board ) n also the only way to start over with a shuffled board would be to play it out instead of just hitting a button to start over with a shuffle. You can start over with the exact board but not with a shuffled board unless u play it out! Wow I started out giving 5 stars then after I started to write things I decided to take a star away. I really do like playing it though so I’m giving you guys a 5 star rating bc honestly have you played some of the other mahjong boards they r horrible!!!

Great free options!

Downloaded a few mahjong solitaire apps, but this one gave a bunch of free options to customize. Definitely like being able to decide what I am looking at when I am obsessively trying to complete the puzzle. Although I have very limited knowledge, this particular app seems to have more challenging puzzles than some of the others I have tried. It also has a daily challenge that is a great change of pace/difficulty. I did purchase some extra layouts in order to get rid of the the Ads but it just added on layouts 1401-????, so it is not a complete waste of $.

Fun but frequent ads

I love that this has different tiles than basic Mahjong games. My eyes are not good enough to discern the difference between the Chinese symbols in standard Mahjong games. However, the ads for other games can come up after only 2 screens of play. And you have to wait the full 30 seconds, and then take two steps to get back to the game. I only gave it 5 stars because all of the Mahjong games seem to have tons of ads. However this one makes it possible for me to play, because you can choose your own tile designs.

Simple UI and customization

I had downloaded multiple different apps looking for a Mahjong app with different tile styles available. It's a little silly but I like to be able to change it up once in awhile. This is the only one I found with different styles and although they are pretty basic in nature it still fits what I was looking for. The UI is very simple and nothing fancy but I don't need a bunch of distractions while I'm just playing a game to pass the time so that's not an issue for me. I will likely delete most if not all of the others I downloaded and keep this one as my go to boredom buster.

Able to Play Again😁

I have had eye surgery and it takes me longer to focus on things now. I have not been able to play other Mahjong games since the surgery because most of the boards are too spread out for me and the tiles are not so different from one tile to the next. I am guessing about the second one, but Ido know the tiles that look similar give me more trouble because I have to focus on them more. I just know that I am happy to be able to ply Mahjong again. So I thank you. This makes me work my eyes and I cannot play long, but maybe my eyes will become stronger the more I play, hopefully.

So far so good

Pretty good mahjong game. So far, it is pretty easy, but tile placement isn’t as overly-convenient as I’ve seen in other games, which I like. It’s more engaging that way. It is free, you don’t have to pay to reshuffle or start over games. The rounds are timed, but only because you can earn more stars if you finish in a certain amount of time. However, I don’t think there is anything to spend the stars on. There are a few ads, but they are usually quick and easy to get rid of. And I also like that you can change the backgrounds and designs on the blocks. I think they’re are over 1000 levels?

The best Mahjong game ever!

I love MahjongTitan. It has tons of great puzzles with many board and tile customizations. Developer support is fantastic if you ever have a question or problem, though I never have had any bug in playing many years now. So dependable. Just great, challenging Mahjong gameplay.

Every app and game should be this good. It’s free to play, and there are a few inexpensive additional board packs if you want them. There are no silly animals or goofy storylines like some games, just good classic gameplay.

The games are timed, you can get up to three stars for beating timer, no hints, etc. But nothing stops you from going on to the next boards, and you can always come back to a board later to try again to solve it or just get full stars. The timer pauses if you close the game or switch apps, and restarts when you come back. Perfect for a short break in the workday.

It’s everything I want in an app and nothing I don’t!

Every app by Kristanix is worth downloading.

one of the two best games in the App Store

I played a lot of mahjong games over the years before I found the two from Kristanix -- and now I've pretty much stopped playing anything else. These games are so beautiful, so relaxing, and so addictive that I've spent eight months solving the 3300 boards they offer (plus the new daily games!), and I may just start all over again. And the customizability is nearly endless.

Honestly, I prefer this one to its sister game. While the only noticeable difference is that Titan is in portrait mode and Epic is in landscape -- so it's just a matter of tilting the iPad sideways to play one or the others -- I've actually solved all 1650 boards available in Titan, but there's one in Epic I'm convinced is unsolvable. :}

Get these, and then pay for the upgrades. They're the best free apps I've ever played, but it's worth throwing a few bucks at the developers for such spectacularly well-designed games! (And no, I don't know any of the developers. I'm just a very happy player.)

Solid game with few ads

Traditional mahjong with at least 1000 boards to play & a new exclusive one daily. Could use some more goals beyond the same ‘complete 10, 50, etc. boards.’ Some more timed goals would be nice or even some goals such as ‘complete five boards without using a shuffle/re-do.’ Beyond that tho, it’s a nice game to play with soothing music & nice background options to choose from if you don’t like the chosen background. It even has the option to change the tiles. It’s also nice that the timer doesn’t start until you make a full move (match a pair) & pauses when you exit the game. Another good feature is it won’t unpause until you make a full move again. Ads are short or easy to skip & really only show up if you start a new game or after playing a few boards in a row. All in all, solid game.

Best Mahjong In My Opinion

I play for relaxation. While it does time how long it took to complete a game, it isn’t a count down timer like many others. The games are rated as to how long it should take to complete it, but in my opinion the time parameters are very generous. There are different backgrounds to choose from plus tons of games. There are new daily games as well. Each game can earn three stars. One for completing the game within the time parameters, one for not needing a hint, and one for not needing to shuffle. There is a restart button if you didn’t achieve all 3stars. The restart completely shuffles the game play for a different game.

Amazing!!

I've searched for a new mahjong game that I can both win and be challenged without being stuck on a level forever or be forced to buy coins to try to advance to the next level where inevitably, you're stuck again & again, having to waste even more $. I finally found it here and I'm hooked! Awesome that you can change boards and never get tired of playing the same level!! Only wish there was an option to change the music, its find for a while but then grows tiresome. Turning it off isn't the solution as it is still soothing but maybe hearing a different tune would make the game even more interesting than it already is!

This One!

I’ve tried a few versions of this free game, and this one is not only a close approximation of the no-frills old-school classic that I am familiar with and prefer, but is also refreshingly free of the obnoxious BS the other versions I tried—and deleted—due to the massive annoyance of having my “relief break” (my primary use for this game) disrupted by demos of other games frequently popping up, typically accompanied by a joltingly loud, obnoxious soundtrack.

For the benefit of those unfamiliar with this take on the Mahjong puzzle game, I find it useful as a periodic relief break when slogging through a lousy chore I hate, or a way to pass short-duration intervals waiting for some process to finish...stuff like that.

Food critic again

I love the music it’s so how do you say…relaxing and I loveThe food level because I am a critic so this is amazing because this is a perfect game for me was relaxing music and the sea levels and everything I love all the stuff when you get to pick your own background and I need to pick through the different things I think you guys really brought it up this time it’s very hard to impress me so you guys did a great job on this game I think everyone in this world is going to live because I gave it a five star rating I think you guys have a five star rating on because it is such a good game so have a fun time playing with your game bye

Addicted to game play

I was using the Apple Arcade to play this game. Downloaded a bunch of other games, but played this one 99% of the time. Decided to download the free version instead. Ads are annoying and as I play this game whenever I have idle time, or while I am talking on the phone, upgraded right away to remove ads. I had achieved almost all of the goals only had complete 10,000 boards left. Bummer I have to start over, but this game is great to play when you don’t want to have a big time commitment. Nice relaxing, fun game. There were a few boards that took a very long time to finish, but I was able to complete every board on the game. Highly recommend this version of Mahjong.

Having fun

Not much more can be said other then it is fun to play. It is easy to loose track of time, so keep that in mind when you start to play. The Grandkids love to play. The oldest is 9 and the youngest is 4. It is fun to watch the 2 younger ones play it together taking turns picking out the mates. After they go home l play just to relax from all fun. There are more then enough games to play for a lot of hours, several backgrounds to pick from as well as different faces of tiles to choose from. The truth is no one can tell anyone if you will like it or not, you just have to give it a try yourself. I do like it, l will continue to play, and l hope you will give it a try. No l don’t work for these people,, that’s why l have time to play this game. 😊

Very Pleasing to the Eyes & Ears

I’ve played a lot of Mahjong apps and this is one of the best. The tiles are big and loaded with bright, vibrant colors. There are many backgrounds and tile patterns to choose from. I particularly like the default tiles and the hombre background - they're just gorgeous. I typically mute the music on game apps but this music is relaxing and beautiful. I also like the fact that tiles that are too many layers down are lightly shaded out, plus they do a little wiggle dance if you try to match them too early. Some mahjong apps give you no indication (visually) that a tile is unavailable, and you have to figure it out by trial-and-error after hitting the tile several times. When you’re moving fast that is just annoying. So, thumbs-up to the makers of MahjongTitan. It’s a winner!

Mahjong Titan

This game is quite addicting!
It runs VERY smoothly with none of the typical glitches you find in most free games. I’ve already played all of the free levels and have purchased some additional packs, and I haven’t had a problem yet
My only complaint is that the levels you purchase aren’t large enough, and there is no bundle price. I’ve played many games where you could buy all add-on packs as a bundle AND sometimes you would get all future releases for free. I would buy that!
Oh, sorry, I do have one more suggestion... you can sort your boards by completed/not completed, but you cannot sort to find which levels have 3 stars and which don’t. I would definitely use that feature. Right now you have to scroll each board to see your stars.

Great Mahjong Game

The only thing I don’t like about this game is that it doesn’t automatically go the next game. Otherwise I love everything about it—- I have not seen any ads which is a huge plus. The games gradually get more difficult within each group and between groups. Out of 3 stars it’s easy to get all 3 in the first block but as game layouts get larger and more difficult I feel good to get 1. There’s nothing to buy so this game is truly free. It doesn’t ask me to share to FB all the time. And backgrounds and tile faces can be changed which is nice.
Just a really well designed Mahjong game.
