Worthless...

I never get it open... App kept crashing. Ill try later but other reviews aren't promising....

Doesn't do anything

I open it and all there is is a circle with lines thru it. There's nothing about satellites in here.

Disappointed

So far, I don't have a clue as to how to make it work. Instructions, or in the least a tutorial may help. Good thing it's free!

Deleted

... After 10 minutes of nothing but frustration. The developer should have gotten some user feedback (apart from his/her own) before publishing this thing. No clue how to get the view of earth that's shown on pxSatelliteTracking Store preview. Also needs some spell checking - that must be embarrassing.

Terse user interface

I have been predicting satellite passes since 1999. pxSatelliteTracking was hard to figure out. Relatively easy to find the features and set them up. Harder to save my changes into pxSatelliteTracking . So far, it is unclear why I am not seeing passes for all the satellites I have loaded.

Hmmm

Think it seems cool but, can't figure out how to use it. Any help would be awesome!

I'm lost

Might be my fault but I have no luck with pxSatelliteTracking ... Sadly. I have tried all I can

Latest update broken

The display tracj button does not work and the menu button just displays a white stripe on the left side of the screen. Using an iPad with OS 8.1.

It’s completely broken, now.

pxSatelliteTracking was working fine, until the recent update. Everything in the GUI is completely unusable, the map is the wrong size and the satellite coordinates are missing. I’ve tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Doesn’t work on iPhone XS, iPad Air 2 or iPad Pro 12.9. All are running IOS 14.2

Up in the air on this one!

There are times when I think this is a brilliant app; other times when I'm baffled by how it operates!

It is great at showing where satellites are relative to the globe-- and the time slider lets us see and show others how the position changes over time. Nice!

Big issue, though! For some reason, it no longer shows orbital traces for satellites! That's a downer. The rotate to change view function is hidden--just discovered it after months of using pxSatelliteTracking . There really needs to be an on screen icon for that We keep our iPad's rotation locked. As others have pointed out, the interface is convoluted, though one gets used to it. The addition of ads, however, is a real irritant! If you go off line, though, they seem to vanish.

Key point, however, this is an incredible app being free!! Even paid apps don't provide as much and many have weird oddities, too!

Apple: the developer's web site seems no longer in play, while the support site doesn't load! PxSat please fix that and orbital traces. Thanks!

Nice idea

Interesting to follow satellites, shuttle missions, etc. I just wish the instructions were in English. Also, half of the settings can be changed from metric, half can't. A lot of little things are holding pxSatelliteTracking back.

Pretty good app

Good app, but it needs a better interface and instructions. It also seems to consume more CPU cycles that perhaps are necessary resulting in heat and battery drain of my iPad 3.

Well Done

This does just about everything you need to track sats. Took a minute or two to figure out but this is quite nice and free. And tracks multiple sats at once with an easy TLE update process. The layout could be revamped a bit but in all very nice.

Excellent Choice

Takes a little to figure it out, but my main interest is using it to track the International Space Station (ISS). Alerts you as to when it will pass over you. There are other features that I cannot figure out, but for free, I'm satisfied with it.

It works

Downloaded Sept 12, 2012 to new iPad.

Pros:
+ No crashes so far :-)
+ Supports several online sources for TLEs or manual entry
+ Sliding timeline, but wish there was a quick way to reset to zero.
+ Can show several tracks with good zooming ability
+ Can alert to future passes
+ Earth map, or local horizon or zenith views
+ Supports multiple station locations

Cons:
- Don't yet see a way to show footprint

Good app!

Not with out its problems though. It lost the ISS completely as I was updating the TLE's and had to reinstall pxSatelliteTracking to restore it.
Love the notifier. I finally got to see the ISS!!! And knew what it was because I was alerted to it. Nice feature!
The instructions on how to use pxSatelliteTracking are a bit wanting and the UI appears to be a bit glitchy but I like it none the less. It's worth the download for sure.

Works great, needs a bit more polish

What can you say about an app like this? It just works. Could use just a bit more polish on the US, but my only real complaint is the lack of a night-vision mode. By checking this device to see the position of the target satellite, you lose your ability to see it. Some sort of a red-only setting for tracking would be amazing.

Awesome!

For those who find pxSatelliteTracking too difficult to use, you probably don't need pxSatelliteTracking or don't have a use for it. Those who do have a use for pxSatelliteTracking (other than just wanting to know what's above you), you'll probably know how to figure it out.

pxSatelliteTracking is great for amateur radio operators who want a good way to track the location of objects like GOES, POES, OSCAR, and many other radio-enabled satellites including the ISS and Soyuz.

You can manually enter individual satellites, insert URLs to download TLE telemetries, or use the preinstalled TLEs to track objects.

It's never been so easy for me to track my antennae and follow a target!

A Super App

I use it to primarily track Amateur Radio Satellites.
It does a super job, also like to track the International Space Stn.
Also like to track Tiangong 1, the Chinese Space Station.

New release is perfect

April 7, 2015
Finally, app was updated and works perfectly on my iPhone 6+. Now, I can give it the same review as I would have pre-iPhone 6 and iOS 8. Love it.

Below was review from December 12, 2014 that caused a 2 star review
I used to use pxSatelliteTracking all the time. Now that I upgraded to iPhone 6+, the maps do not display. You get tracks snd satellites but no map.
