The new version is a big update and works more smoothly on the current iOS. My favorite improvements are the ability to increase the font size and the way this version shows off the beautiful Magnificat magazine cover when you open MagnificatEnglishEditions . Just tap on the small part of the cover image and it increases to full screen. Two of the best things about Magnificat have always been the beautiful cover and the daily meditations. (Otherwise the full version of Universalis would be an alternative to Magnificat, but it lacks these features.) I do wish this Magnificat app made the articles more visible- they are buried as one of a zillion things under "Other Features". Ah well, nothing compares to the print version.

We really have enjoyed this for a year or two but since the upgrade we can't get it because the operating system we have is 9 something . We ask to download an older version that is compatible an it promptly gives notice that it is downloading, please wait. And we wait, and we wait, and we wait. It never stops.

HELP I can get it at Magnificat online. Com,and the new scroll format is great, and it appears that is what MagnificatEnglishEditions might show. But we are still stuck with forever downloading. Except now it stops, says error downloading, touch to retry. Retried seven times, no luck, it would be nice to get it again on the iPad. HELP

The first thing I do every morning when I get up is go to the Magnificat morning prayers. The Magnificat is perfect those of us who do not have time for the Liturgy of the Hours but want to pray with the rest of the Church daily. I find the Magnificat prayers a perfect way to start and end my day. They are uplifting helpful, they are not too long or too short but just right. The meditations are often inspiring. It is great to have the daily Mass reading to study before Mass, when I cannot get to Mass or even after Mass sometimes when I want to revisit them. I've already subscribed to the paper addition for about 10 years and that is what I use for Mass, but the rest of the time I like use it on my iPad.

So, I like this new version, and though limited on time to write about all the improvements, one of the better is the ability to change the font size. The previous version you could “stretch” it open to make it larger, but then had to move the screen side to side to read the larger size.

My only problem, and I sent an email to the feedback team a week ago, is when I tap on Evening Prayer, I keep getting the morning prayer for the day. I’ve tried deleting MagnificatEnglishEditions and reinstalling it, but that didn’t fix this issue. Was curious if anyone else is having the same problem?

November 2018: unable to download on my iPad. Extremely frustrating. Fortunately I have it on my smart phone, but why can’t I get it on my iPad this month? Arrrrrgh!

December 2013: again MagnificatEnglishEditions is not working w/o internet connection. Is this going to happen every month? Please fix this.

Update: I love MagnificatEnglishEditions now that it can be accessed w/o Wifi. I have a written subscription but don't mind paying an extra $1.99 a month to help support this most important publication. C'mon, that is less than a cup of coffee in most places. Isn't spiritual food worth at least that much?

It's great to be able to have the Magnificat with me wherever I go. Great job!

I love Magnificat mag and MagnificatEnglishEditions is just like having it on my Ipod. But it can only be accessed with wifi. No problem if you have an iPhone but pretty much useless on the iPod unless you want to replace the magazine and be content with just using it when you can access wifi which of course rules out church.

MagnificatEnglishEditions lacks the ability to stay open in the background requiring me to find my place within the mass or other reading when I return to it from another app.
Also, please consider adding links to content from within the Mass section. Such as direct links to the Order of the Mass or other features such as Spiritual Communion, thanks in advance.

If your serious about getting closer to god, don’t have time to read the the Bible, going through a loss or family member in need this is the king of all religious apps that will strengthen your bond with god, grow your knowledge and fill your heart mind and soul with all the things it needs. At first I used it to say prayers at meal times then began to explore all the other menu items and now especially fond of the hymns. It will not disappoint with plenty to explore for whatever situation your in right now. Peace everlasting my brothers and sisters.

I sent a comment via MagnificatEnglishEditions on my phone but never heard back so reviewing MagnificatEnglishEditions in iTunes. The update has flaws. First, at 11:37 pm when I opened MagnificatEnglishEditions it took me to the next day. Apparently MagnificatEnglishEditions thought it had passed midnight however I'm on Central time and it had not passed midnight. Secondly, no matter which option you select from the daily menu, it always takes you to the top option "Prayer for the Morning." When I select "Prayer for the Evening" it still takes me to the morning prayer and I must page down to the section I want. In the scheme of wordly issues, none of this is a big deal but a nuisance. Sometimes new/updated is not always better.

I have subscribed to both the print and online versions of Magnificat for four years. It helps me know upcoming religious feasts and memorial days of the Saints. There are prayers for morning and evening and a reflection reading after the Scripture readings of the Mass. Each month there are fifteen or more stories of the Saints. All of the above helps me to read more about the treasury of the lives of those who have passed on to us their experience of God and the gift of His Son and His Church.

The Magnificat is such a joy to pray & meditate with! I’ve subscribed about a year now and I’m finding it adds GREATLY to my holy desire, devotion and joy of the Lord! Also, I so appreciate having both print and electronic editions. Finally, The many features, big and little, throughout each month give witness to the high attention to detail the Magnificat staff employs. Hi, I buy single monthly copies on my iPad but then cannot view them on my iPhone even though I’m using the same Apple ID. Is this normal for MagnificatEnglishEditions? I.e can only use on one device? When I first installed MagnificatEnglishEditions - on both my iPad and iPhone - the free 1st month copy worked on both. But subsequent months purchased on my iPad can only be read on the iPad and NOT on the iPhone.
Any advice appreciated.

I just updated MagnificatEnglishEditions on my iPhone 6 and my iPad. The newest update dated Nov. 4, 2017 will not download the newest edition on either device. I have completely closed MagnificatEnglishEditions on both devices, and deleted and reloaded and the problem persists. It indicates it is downloading and to "please wait" while the dot indicators appear to show it working. Then I get "Error loading. Touch to retry." I have tried to load it over wifi as well as using data on my phone to no avail.

As of now, MagnificatEnglishEditions is completely useless as I cannot access my subscription from there. Developers, please get this fixed A.S.A.P. This is one of my most often used apps.

I have a physical subscription, and greatly enjoy the quality and feel of them! It such a soft and gentle little book, it feels really nice in the hands, so thank you!! I downloaded MagnificatEnglishEditions hoping it might also include the Liturgy of the Hours, I was sad it did not, MagnificatEnglishEditions is so nicely laid out it would be beautiful if we could also have the liturgy as a bonus, any plans of doing this? Thank you again!

I really love using MagnificatEnglishEditions. It works smoothly during Mass. In the last update the Marion Antiphons in Latin were removed. I wish the Latin Marion Antiphons were was added back in.

Another feature I would love to see is the beginning words of each Eucharist prayer put back in to help guide the reader to the chosen Eucharistic prayer during Mass. To make it better it would be great if the beginning words for each Eucharistic prayer was a link you could touch that would bring you right to the beginning of the prayer.

After three years, and months of warnings that MagnificatEnglishEditions would soon stop working, I am so happy to see the new version.

The upgrade was rocky: it lost my login and I ended up having to delete and reinstall it (it also disappeared from the AppStore for two days).

Visual design is very nice. Just a few nits:
• split-hexagon background for buttons is distracting;
• red text of "other features" button is garish;
• download progress starts at 0% brightness which makes it impossible to see, and brightens to show progress; this is too clever by half as the arc and number are already doing so.

Addendum: in the afternoon the main page shows tomorrow's date instead of today's (US/Pacific time).

I love MagnificatEnglishEditions bc it allows me to access the Magnificat and its beautiful contact (guided prayers for morning, evening, night).
The daily Mass. the daily meditation and saint of the day. As well as other thoughtful pieces to read.
Despite my hectic schedule and hectic work and family life - I made a decision to have this be the ONLY app that sends notifications to my phone. It has helped ease some anxiety and stress. TY!

Frustration ... DO NOT KNOW WHO TO APPEAL TO NEXT. Contact to TECH SUPPORT is not available and CUSTOMER SUPPORT has no idea who/where/ ... CUSTOMER SUPPORT is unable to provide any help.

App needs to be updated for IOS 12.1.4 otherwise selected features [esp Lectio Divina]. The Lectio Divina is only available for the first Sunday of each month. Selecting LD from ‘OTHER FEATURES’ only shows you the LD for the first Sunday of that month. I called CUSTOMER SUPPORT and they supposedly do not have TECH SUPPORT. Up the creek without a paddle. Prior to 12.1.4 the MAGNIFICAT features [esp LD] worked. Per APPLE: after hours of research it was noted that the last version did not include IOS 12.1.4.

For about a year now I have enjoyed waking up with Magnificat. The art, the intentions, the historical context, and of course scripture!

What I would love to see is a way for MagnificatEnglishEditions to be more interactive. Wouldn’t it be amazing if there was a community aspect to this? It would also be great if one was able to view this in PDF format. I often want to print out the entries without having to print out the background and other details that eat up ink.

Anyhow MagnificatEnglishEditions has been really hard really helpful in my spiritual growth and fostering a deeper connection with God, scripture and prayer.

I love having my Magnificat on hand at all times. The artwork is always beautiful. The meditations and Saint stories are so useful and inspiring...but, it’s the Saints, how could they not be! If I’m at a loss for words for prayer, I can always bring up the prayers for guidance.

Best yet, my children enjoy the guided night prayers! (They actually prefer them to what we had been praying as a family!)

Good. Redesign is pretty well though out. However, for those of us with smaller screens and older eyes ... giving up space at the top of the screen for the Magnicicat heading is problematic. In earlier versions, it would disappear when the screen was tapped making the entire screen realestate available for the text for the Mass. Now, it persists.

I downloaded the new version to two different devices. On neither can I download the next month (September). It just keeps grinding away. I have tried restarting the device and deleting and redownloading MagnificatEnglishEditions . No luck. Now I'm stuck without the Magnificat that I've paid for. I contacted support, but have not received a response.

UPDATE: In a couple of days an upgrade was issued that fixed the issue. I'm giving the CONTENTS 5 stars.
