I know people are going to 1 star just because there is a subscription now, while there is a subscription and it’s offered to anyone new users and previous purchasers, people who previously purchased CLZMovies lose nothing they still have access to everything the had before forever. If you want access to the few new features that you don’t then you have to pay a reasonable price for the sub, none of these new features are in any way required for app functionality. New users will have to pay the sub for full access to what you are grandfathered into and the new features. While I generally don’t like subscriptions I don’t mind them if they aren’t a money grab and the steady income is used to maintain servers/databases and constantly keep CLZMovies updated. I don’t think I need a subscription but since CLZ has been such a great resource for me for many many years I’m definitely going to try it for a month. Keep up the great work on CLZMovies it’s value is truly immeasurable for me.

I am really enjoying CLZMovies. It is very easy to use. The ability to scan barcodes works great with my iPad camera. Adding by title works quite well also. A great feature is The Box collection which adds all of the individual tiles in a set automatically and the record indicates in which set the title is found. The folder search is incredibly detailed and easy to use.

The ability to add Personal information such as location, price, and tags was the deciding factor for me. A previous product I tried didn’t have that ability and even though a title was in the database, I still had to search for it! Syncing to the cloud is fast and allows me to use CLZMovies on my phone also. The personal online webpage was a pleasant surprise.

The support staff reached out by email within a day of me signing up to welcome me to the service and then responded quickly and efficiently to several questions. The answers to my questions were direct and specific not canned automatic replies. Very polite and respectful to me, the customer.

I have had CLZMovies less than a week and have already added 592 titles! The embedded movie clips and plot summaries are a fun way to revisit titles not watched in a while and in some cases I even forgot I had. Great app and service which exceeded my expectations!

Scan your disc’s barcode (or add by an online search or add manually) and the entry pops up with all the IMDB info automatically entered plus there’s a ton of other fields to get as detailed with the info as you’d like. There’s also a notes field if you need to add info that doesn’t have a field for it.

Indicate whether you’ve watched the disc or not with a tap, search by a large number of choices (not just by title—actor, year, discs you haven’t watched yet so you only look at stuff you haven’t yet watched & many others).

I’ve emailed the developer a few times since I started using CLZMovies a few years ago, and he’s always been responsive and very helpful. I highly recommend CLZMovies to have full usage of your collection! We no longer have to endlessly flip through our stuff trying to figure out what to watch!

I’ve had CLZMovies for years now. I had tried multiple other apps for my movies and found they were a Joke. I use CLZMovies all the time. I have over 2600 movies and can do so many things with CLZMovies so its set up to my liking. Anytime I have an issue (so far its always been my screwup) they are right there to fix it and help me out. They are always following up to make sure everything is working as planned, and explaining IN DETAIL the exact way to do something the easy way. I paid for the lifetime on the movie app and will be upgrading my music to a lifetime also. Such an easy way to keep track of your collections. Thank you again CLZ for your App and your Fantastic Support.

I was initially skeptical about this application. However after a couple of instant and excellent messages with the developer I am absolutely pleased with the program. The link to IMDb is the easiest way to add titles. Plus the information (and even trailers) provided for each movie is outstanding. But the silver lining is behind the scenes of CLZMovies , where you can customize pretty much anything to you liking (title sorting, custom genres, etc). I’m happy to pay for an application that WORKS and has great SUPPORT. Best of all, it syncs between your devices (iPhone, iPad) and you can see you collection on the web via their Cloud service. If you have family movies, you can easily add these too. Kudos to the authors.

I have used CLZ Movies (as well as a couple other of their apps), for a couple of years now. I find the Movie app very helpful to keep track of movies and TV shows that I own (both digitally and on DVD/Bluray), as well as Movies and TV series that I stream.

The developers are very receptive to suggestions and have made many improvements since my original purchase.

The database is fairly complete, although there is an occasional item missing. I find the developers very receptive to email and always get a reply within a day or two. If it is a database issue, they always resolve it promptly. There is also a submission form to submit missing or incorrect items if you prefer.

We have been using CLZ to catalog our videos for well over 10 years. Their product is outstanding and has continued to evolve over the years. Being older, my wife and I have occasionally needed technical assistance and it’s so refreshing to get GREAT SUPPORT from real human beings. Hadn’t used my movie database in quite awhile and realized in a panic this week that I had removed CLZMovies . In responding to my frantic plea for assistance, the CLZ employee replied, “First breathe in, breathe out. Your movie database is securely backed up inside your CLZ cloud.” I appreciated the understanding and slightly humorous response. Love your product; love your support!

In looking for a mobile app to catalogue over 2300 dvds, I found this gem and I’m so glad I did! The barcode scan makes it a breeze to use. The online search - when the barcode isn’t available - works wonderfully. As with any app it takes a little getting used to in order to figure things out. When my newness to CLZMovies left me unable to find a feature, a shout-out to support was responded to quickly. I can look up my dvds by so many features, and personalize individual entries. CLZMovies is exactly what I needed! The annual fee is a bargain for what you get. Don’t hesitate - buy it!

I have a substantial number of movies on disc. For years I’ve made spreadsheets and printed out updates so that the family could find where the movies are in the cabinets.
When I finally decided to make it a fully digital storage and search system, I tried most every app available. Most of them promised exactly what I was looking for. All of them seemed to fall incredibly short.
When I had abandoned yet another app and got to CLZ, I was just as hopeful though a bit skeptical at that point. Disappointment was the only constant between the apps.
CLZ changed that. The initial setup was clear and easy. The design and layout is attractive AND usable. The info you need and want is always right there; no hunting for what’s important.
To make CLZMovies 100% functional IMO, you need to subscribe to CLZ cloud. The bulk import functions alone make that worthwhile. But then I can also share the list in a read-only mode for the family.
And it’s one of the few apps still developing and trying to innovate.

I received a nice reply from CLZ regarding the subscription service. I think it was a miscommunication, in how the subscription service was addressed. When I say miscommunication I mean the wording lacked some clarity and definition as to what is going to happen.

That and the quickness in its execution, and not have time to understand to whole picture of how the change is going to effect the future for grandfathered users.

I started using their products from the very beginning, and although there have been a few ups and downs, I think this is a fantastic product. Finding my movies would be impossible with out it.

Unfortunately Apple’s new push for even more profits in wanting everything to go to subscription service payments, is getting out of hand. Which could be the downfall of this company.

As soon as I have time to download version 5, I will give an updated review.

Up until this point, I had been keeping my movies catalogued in an Excel spreadsheet. I still use my spreadsheet, but now with CLZMovies I don’t always have to check my laptop for the information I want/need to know. It’s now in the palm of my hands. I really love the barcode scanner and how it lets you add movies more quickly.

At first I wasn’t too happy with the price. This was the first app I’d ever spent over $3, but hopefully I get my money’s worth. One major downside is that I can’t utilize CLZ’s computer application version of CLZMovies without spending $50 for it (hence why I’m still using my Excel spreadsheet).

It would truly be nice if I could also access this information on my laptop, but until that happens I’ll have a mobile app version and an Excel version

I've been using CLZ products for Windows, Mac, and mobile for more years than I can remember, probably 20 or more. My DVD/BluRay collection has grown to 1000+ items. CLZ apps are extremely well designed and continually maintained and updated in sync with ever changing devices and operating systems. The features are abundant and interfaces intuitive. In the rare case you experience problems, customer support is fast and friendly. It's rare to find this kind of quality, even more so at such a reasonable price. I'm remiss for waiting so long to write this review. Kudos to this developer!

I’ve been using CLZMovies for years now. It’s one of the best databases I’ve seen. Being able to list movies a variety of ways, so very useful. I do have a few suggestions if your developers are up for the challenge — 1st: being able to “highlight/favorite” actors & directors would be such a plus as well as listing their movies. 2nd: adding a filter would also be great, omitting certain movies in a list (such as filtering out movies that have been watched). Again, you have an A Class app!

I don’t have as many movies as others but over a hundred is a lot to me. I keep note cards of all my movies in my purse so when I’m out and see DVD’s I don’t duplicate my purchases. CLZMovies does this for me as well as my wishes DVD’s. I’m in heaven because I always have my phone in me but not my purse, lol. Many other things can be done on CLZMovies but listing all my movies and being able to keep track of what I have means the most to me. It’s free for the first 100 movies so give it a try. I don’t feel you’ll be sorry. :)

It’s pretty bad that the subscription info is hidden in the text if you don’t drop it down. Just let me buy CLZMovies once and have it forever. Subscription models are a huge put off.

EDIT TO DEV RESPONSE: The subscription info IS hidden by having to expand CLZMovies description. It is placed just far enough down to not be visible until you expand the description.

In regards to the subscription model response: I understand your POV from a business stance. One way around this is to purchase an app for say, $20 and get free updates for a year. After that, you must renew to get newer updates. Or alternatively, build CLZMovies to allow for day $5 gets you 50 movie scans and you can buy more increments.

I don't review apps often, but when I do it's for a good reason. I've tried a number of other apps and had not found one that had a simple UI, that was dependable, and allowed me to enter movies quickly. This one does.

Get the "pro" version, it really is worth it. To top it off, if you do have a question you can email the developers... and they will actually answer quickly! (That alone can only be said about a very few apps.)

I have a massive collection of movies and I love shopping for new movies CLZMovies keeps my movies in alphabetical order and I can search within seconds to find out my status before purchasing ones I already have. It is the perfect answer for my children and grandchildren to see quickly the movies they want to watch! I recommend this to everyone who takes pride in organization of their movies... Best App Ever!

The 5 Star Movie App is here. I’ve been waiting years for this feature and now it is here, to be able to make your thumbnails smaller or larger by a slider. I’ve been begging the CLZ team for many years for this feature. It was the only thing left from keeping CLZMovies from being a 5 star app in my opinion. IT’S A ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ APP NOW and still the best movie app on CLZMovies Store. Thanks you to the CLZ team for making this happen 😁.

I was looking for an app for both desktop and iPhone to sort my movie collection, and this one had everything I needed. And when I ran into difficulty (the phone app wasn’t updating the covers I’d put in the desktop app), they were quick to help! I got a response the next morning. Their solution was quick and easy. So far, loving CLZMovies!

This software is the best I’ve used to catalog my over 3000 movie collection. Every feature you could ask for and they keep adding more features and improvements. I had a couple issues that were my fault, the response time was fast, professional and solved my problems quickly. I highly recommend CLZMovies and this company and their very professional staff.

I’d been using CLZ Books to catalogue my books and it’s been so handy I decided to get this CLZ Movies app as well. Purchased it on a weekend and had some trouble signing in, so I shot off a request to customer support and figured I’d hear back on a Monday. Instead I had a response and solution over the same weekend! Very impressed with CLZMovies and the support backing it up. Highly recommend.
