I like the idea of aSmartHUD. Unfortunately on my car the reflection comes off both the front and back surfaces of the windshield, and consequently I get a double image which is mostly unreadable. I would recommend you open something else on your iPhone and put it on your car dashboard at night to see if you also get a double image before you purchase this.

aSmartHUD needs an update to support the screen sizes of modern phones, and to have a more intuitive and modern user interface.

I have a nice dock in my car for driving, but it's stuck in the portrait position. aSmartHUD only works in landscape mode... It would be nice if the user could go between the two..

Wow, I've been wanting to implement a complex HUD into my car for a while now (all day, lol), and aSmartHUD is certainly an impressive little treat. It works excellently at night. It's too bad the reflection is doubled because of the dual layers of my windshield, a problem that's common to most I believe. I'm sure there are DIY fixes. Few complaints about aSmartHUD , very fun, very accurate readings on speed. Compass seems to be off and can't figure out why

A very nice app that executes its feature-set very well. I do, however, have one bug that kept me at a 4-star rating: For some reason, on my iPhone 4, my preferences keep being lost. Since I alter pretty much every single one of them, this is quite frustrating. (As iPhone 4's haven't even been out a week yet, I assume this will be fixed in an update.)

Also, it'd be nice if I could set the home location--which is used for a distance and bearing--to any place on the map by dropping a pin instead of only at the place I'm at. This is useful for when I know where I want to go, rather than want to get back to where I am later.

It works well, especially at night. It also helps to have one of those rubber cell phone grips for the dash if you want the iPhone to stay in place. One thing that I found wrong with aSmartHUD is the 12 hr clock is off by 12 hours. It says it's 12:30 am when it's really 12:30 pm. That shouldn't be hard to fix for the next version.

This developer deserves praise for great customer service and responsiveness.

After having issues with the latest update, I sent an email and got an immediate, personal response. We since have exchanged several emails and the developer has both solved my immediate issue and taken information to improve aSmartHUD 's functionality.

A heartfelt thanks ~ now I have an app that performs brilliantly!

Even though I can only use it at night, I love aSmartHUD! Even my wife brags about aSmartHUD to her friends. It makes my cars feel like the new Vette. Thanks to aSmartHUD I finally know how far off my speedo is off after putting bigger tires on my lifted Jeep. The money spent I will save in tickets. Love it!

This item exhibits perhaps the cleanest, most comprehensive and easiest to read graphics of all of the many navigations applications I've downloaded. One is provided with several forms of customization allowing you to easily make use of this item. While it's odometer is off to the minus-side it's remains worthy of five-stars.

Great HUD feature, nice colors and east to read layout. Fullscreen speedometer is nice, too. Only things to implement in update would be more colors and color schemes, the 12-hour time intervals instead of 24, AND to change the brightness on the display!!!! It is easy to read it while it's in the HUD more, but being able to brighten it up a bit would be nice. GREAT APP!!!

After I figured out where in the settings to change the meter to miles; now I love aSmartHUD. Looks cool and gets the job done. Good job team!

The new map feature is an awesome idea, but could use a few tweaks. Firstly, it would be nice if you didn't have to pinch/pull to zoom in, as this would be difficult while driving. Perhaps an automatic zoom? Also, it would be nice to have a setting with the map behind the instruments, as opposed to a transparent overlay. Maybe this could optionally replace the black background?

I got this on my iPhone first and I liked it. As a HUD in mirrored mode I actually like aSmartHUD a lot better on the iPad when I double the size of the display.

The speed is very accurate. The display flashes to warn me when I'm speeding. The display tells me exactly how far I am from home.

aSmartHUD is most useful to the driver from dusk through dawn, but a number of passengers have had fun checking it out for a few minutes on trips.

If you have a 3G phone aSmartHUD works great, especially for the price. I got it and tested it against a Garmin GPS I have and it was very accurate. I did try the HUD feature and maybe it is just my windsheild but I showed a double image which I could quit figure out. One feature I would add to the unit is the capability to make the time 12hr or 24hr. Right now the only option seems to be 24hr. Other then that it is a great app for the price if you have a 3G phone. I don't know how well it would work on the 2G.

Took me a second to realize that I had to tap "HUD" in order to mirror the display. Everything else is under the tool menu (self-explanatory tool icon). Also, cool feature is a satellite dish icon which, when tapped, brings up detailed readings and measurements about your location (including coordinates). But it gets better; you can adjust the opacity of the latter display, so your speed is still visible. Very cool. I thought I'd be smart and mess with it, but the default opacity turned out to be the perfect amount. Bottom line? aSmartHUD is perfect as-is.

I have used HUD for over a year now. It is really useful to be able to see a digital display in your windshield at night. And a positive display in the day time. It shows speed compass heading and other info that is useful. The speed flashes red when you exceed your current speed a bit, even when driving a safe speed. If they could connect to the speed limit database for roads like they have on GPS devices it would be very useful; otherwise I'd suggest it be eliminated. I like knowing my true speed and altitude. It also shows distance from home if you turned it on at home. That's nice.

Overall I think this is a unique and useful app. Keep up the good work. Jim from Woodbridge, VA.

I've had aSmartHUD awhile and am very happy with it. It is soo many apps in one hot little package. I use it mainly for sailing, sometimes driving, or even use the gps to locate my position on a map while horseback riding back country. It is very accurate. I can plot a course on inavx(another great app) and use ihud in knotts mode to approximate arrival times to waypoints plotted. Night sailing is a lot of fun and easy to read the beautiful display ihud provides. So many applications for this and I love the customizing options as well. I also appreciate all the frequent updates the developer sends out. That truly speaks volumes to the consumer that the developer really cares about us and their product. Great job! -Wick

aSmartHUD is a hidden gem. It is worth the cost just for the accuracy of the compass -- even on the 3G without the built-in compass it works flawlessly. Yes, it is dim (but still visible) in the daytime, but the first time you drive at night with this sitting on your dashboard, you'll be blown away. I cannot put into words how awesome aSmartHUD is. It deserves to be in the top 10. Notes to the developers: the "HUD" button is hard to hit just right; I'd like it to start in HUD mode by default.
