Suddenly unhappy

Until today I loved this game. I have played it at least three games a day for the past several years. Today I decided to pay for an upgrade so that I could play at the expert level. Once I did that, during a single game it will interrupt between hands to present an opportunity to purchase some other, completely unrelated game. I can’t finish my game in progress until I let the advertisement run its course. In the course of playing three games, I have had to watch a half dozen of these advertisements. I honestly hate this game now and I am looking for a replacement.

Too many ads!

The game is good - not great. What makes this game frustrating is not the level of difficulty, but the amount of advertisements. There is an ad after every play. It’s ridiculous! I stopped playing for a short time. Then got back on recently to see if there had been a change in the number of ads. I was hoping it might have changed due to the number of complaints regarding the over abundance of annoying- redundant ads. But, no change. So once again I will have to pass this game by.

PLAYING PLAYING OVER 10 YRs BUT GETTING READY TO Delete!

This game has been a help to pass the time while waiting for delayed flights, delayed dr appts, delayed wife / girl friend or both!!!
Having this game on my phone for 10 plus years i have seen the game with some changes that only reduced the quality of the game but still kept the playing great. What is the MOST DISTURBING at this time is having to deal with all the frickin ADS for child games!!!! WILD KING made a great game however if this continues i will be deleting because it annoys me as it becomes frustrating to get rid of the ads which seems to happen now after every “crib” count!

Why Does The Game Stall Out

I love this game. There is an intelligence to this game. But I have had to reinstall it 3 times in the last two months. The game will freeze up and nothing I do will get the ap running again except reinstallation. Well it just froze again and I think I am going to look for another this app game. I also hate some of the ads that pop up. I understand that this is a free application and most of the ads are tolerable, but there are those that run 30 seconds with no way of skipping them and others that require me to close the game and re-open before they will disappear. I don’t have this problem with any of the other free apps I have downloaded.

Unrealistic deals

I read this from another review as well. It seems as though, on the hardest free mode, the computer will get unrealistic hands dealt. The computer will get a 16+ point hand at least 1-2 times per game. At the same time there will be 10+ points in their crib. Miraculously the only time I, as the player get dealt a 16+ point hand is when the computer is about to win and my hand is not counted, as I am the dealer. I have played this app for many many years. 18+ point hands are very rare and 24 point hands, which seems to be the computers go to hand (4,5,5,6 and a cut 6), are extremely rare. I don’t see what the purpose is of having the computer win the majority of the time. I have deleted Cribbage as unrealistic deals make the game no fun.

Too many ads now

I agree with many of the recent reviews—too many ads now. I’ve had this game app for a very long time. I don’t mind the ads before the game starts or after a game is completed (or the running ads at the bottom of the screen), but now there is an ad after every hand is over (if lucky get to play 2 hands before an ad), so in order to complete a game I am spending more time watching ads than actually playing a game! It’s become ridiculous! I am extremely disappointed. If this doesn’t change then I will be deleting Cribbage & will try out a different this app game app.

Love mugging, disturbing ads/glitches

I love the fact that this game allows you to count your own cards and mug. The computer throws in a mugging or two that don’t always make real-world sense, like it may state that it has “0” pts when it has an obvious pair, but that’s ok by me. Also ok to me is that you do definitely get really great hands compared to the computer on easier levels. I’m not sure how else you’d have easier levels. However, occasional glitches and very annoying and disturbing ads make me continue to search for other count-your-own this app games. A number of times, when it comes time to count my cards, the pop-up screen that shows my hand and allows me to count doesn’t appear. I have to close the game and reenter it, clicking on “resume”, to be able to count my hand. The computer completely skipped counting its own crib once and moved on to the next hand. Most frustrating are the frequent ads, which make you progress from one screen to another trying to get you to “get” another game before showing you a tiny “x”. Or they make you listen to the beginning of a podcast before letting you close. The worst ad is one for a sniper game which shows you the beginning of a hostage-held-at-gunpoint with a sniper aiming at them. I am grateful that I am not a trauma survivor and if I find this forced-watch disturbing, how must they? It would be like being unexpectedly victimized all over again during a simple this app game.

Ad change not welcome

I’ve played this this app app for years; I tried many and found this UI and AI to be the best. Along with an unobtrusive permanent banner ad at the bottom of the screen, the game used to run a video ad between the end of one game and the start of the next, which isn’t too much for a free app. Lately however, ads are running between every hand, and many of them play for 35 seconds with no way to dismiss them. This new mid-game ad policy is making the game nearly unplayable. I would typically play 4 or 5 games in the evening before the change; now I’m so annoyed by the interruptions that I play maybe a couple games a week. Poor choice by the developers.

Going downhill

Gameplay has always been good, but in the latest versions, ads (sometimes 2 or 3 per game) are popping up in the middle of playing when thy used to only happen either before or after. In the latest update which claims “bug fixes” I have experienced more freezing than ever before when I never even realized the game had any bugs previously.
I’ve tried a few other this app games and as far as ease of play, aesthetics, etc, this is the best. Having an ad onscreen all game and one between each game is plenty for making money, the multiple interruptions have me (at over level 100) ready to look for other this app games altogether though. Sad how greed and profit are more important than a good experience for all players.

Good interface but.

The game has a good interface but the board is difficult to read on the iPhone. I wish there was an option to have a very plain board with no design. The designs make it difficult to read the board on the iPhone.

It would also be nice if there was an option level between automatically counting your points and losing points when you make a counting mistake. Like an option that shows “You uncounted. Count again,” and “You over counted. Count again.” This would be helpful for learning difficult to count card combinations.

Loving it, except...

I really love this game except it won’t give me all the points I understand I have earned. According to the rules I have read, if you have 4 cards (in total with the flip card) that are of the same suit you get 4 points. 5 points if all 5 cards are of the same suit. This game does not give you these points for 4 of a suit. I have no idea about 5 of a suit as I have not had that opportunity as yet. I do love that you can count your own cards even though I occasionally screw myself out of a couple of points. I think it makes me a better player and exercises my counting talents for when I play against my daughter with real cards and pegs. Contemplate adding the points for 4/5 of a suit, but until then, Job well done!

Straight forward cribbage

Simple to play, un-complicated interface. Set game to do all the work or count everything manually. AI is challenging enough although good hands seem to come more often than a real game; inordinate number of double-runs and 15's.
Single player or upgrade to play live. Customizable cards, boards and tables. Good time waster. If you're looking for a relatively ad-free, straight to the point, no nonsense good game of this app, this one definitely fits the bill. The only reason it's not a 5 is that you have to pay to unlock expert mode! Whaaaat? ..ohh mannn, booooo! ....Great game!!

30 second Ads now between EVERY SINGLE HAND

I have enjoyed this this app app for several years, and was fine with having to view 2 or 3 ads per game. Playing today with a long ad with every hand is so over the top I won’t even consider upgrading. Developer, do you really get paid for running the same stupid ad multiple times to the same person who obviously doesn’t want Cribbage ? You’re making nothing from me now because I’m going elsewhere.

WHAT A GREAT APP!

I love this this app app! Everyone, from beginner to advanced, can play this game. I haven't seen any other this app app that has a three player game, either! The ads that run at the bottom of the screen can be annoying in the beginning, but now I hardly even notice them!

I do have a few gripes, though. Many times the automated dealing of the cards will often favor my opponent, the iPad, at every level! Also, when given a chance to count the opponent’s “hand”, looking for points to mug, it is way to easy to “tap” the screen which forfeits my ability to mug. And, lastly, I truly wish you were able to play against other players over the web using this game’s format.

This is a great game, though! I’m so glad something like this is here! I wish there were more apps like this!

-this app, an endangered pastime of skill, forethought, strategy and luck!

Well implemented.

I have been using Cribbage for years. I’ve seen it grow and change for the better. I’ve made some suggestions and actually seen them come to fruition, though it probably wasn’t just me as the impetus. Here is another one. Regarding the daily goal: for those involving pairs (e.g. 29 pairs scores 200). Three-of-a-kind is scored as 6 because it is actually 3 pairs, four-of-a-kind scores 12 because it is 6 pairs. Include these when tallying points toward accomplishment of “Pairs” Daily Goals.

I have played a lot of this app since I first learned the game 43 years ago. I find it interesting that I have difficulty beating this on the highest free level, not because I don't know how to play, but because if I am up by more that a few points the game will deal out all even cards to me and with the turn card end up with a very nice double or quad run with scores that just don't happen in real play. I've had the game score 24 in its hand and 16 in the crib. Interestingly I didn't remember discarding any of the cards in the crib.

Bill from Springfield Illinois.

My dad and I played this game almost every time we were together, through the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. I lost my this app partner about 20 years ago and haven’t played since.
The other day, while the on vacation, my youngest son gave me a gift. It was a homemade this app Board. I have to admit, it was the finest this app Board that I have ever seen. We played 1 game after everyone went to bed. Of course, I had to relearn the game and my son had never played the game.
So I went to Cribbage Store, and thumbed thru the different this app Apps, until this one caught my eye.
I played one game just minutes ago and loved Cribbage . Because it has a button to tap to show you how your points are scored, it is the perfect app for the beginner or seasoned player. I took a snapshot of Cribbage and sent it to my son.
I give Cribbage 5 stars because it is a great learning tool for the beginner, or the perfect partner for the advanced player that has a few extra minutes to get a game in.

Lots of Fun

Very entertaining and fast moving. My only suggestion is to improve card counting for my opponent. There are many instances where I’ve been able to claim muggins, and it’s usually on pretty simple things such as a pair or perhaps a run. I don’t mind pegging some extra points, but my opponent is excellent at calling muggins on me, so it seems a little strange that I’ve been able to find so many instances of missed points.

Cribbage is great

My Dad and Grandpa played this with their fists clenched (for sport) to the delight of my brother and me! We, learned it, too, but the habit got lost in the shuffle of life. Fast forward, I inherited my Dad's revolving this app board and have since given that board to one of my sons as I discovered he was resurrecting the game once again. This online game is giving me valuable practice so that soon, at age 66 (and with fists clenched), I'll be offering my 37 yr old son a challenge - with confidence!!! Love this game!

Just can’t stop!!! :)

I love this game, I got into this app about a week ago before going to visit my family and couldn’t find anyone to play this app with, but I downloaded this and haven’t been able to stop playing! I really like that there aren’t many ads...however you don’t have many decent choices for boards, cards, pegs, and mainly backgrounds. Overall I’d give it a big thumbs up!
