New version is really bad unfortunately

Look I bought Mobicip not Qustodio, I need a safe browser you were the best lightweight safe browser on the market and now you are just another easily defeated profile system. You have made your product unusable and on Monday I will be calling customer support to see if I can get my money back, you have lost a customer with this update.

Bring back a safe browser only option, I can lock down AppStore and unsafe apps on my own. It really frustrates me how much you have killed the product I bought into without giving me a legacy option.

Did you even consider your customers might NOT want this, that the people giving you money have a reasonable expectation to get what they paid for? I am beyond disappointed and frustrated. Worst update ever, as not only does it not 100% work (sits at vpn connecting) it destroys battery life and my kids can barely use their devices. RiP Mobicip.

This is the most glitchy crap I have ever seen,

I am very irritated by ParentalControlApp I tried to give this to my kids and told them this would be a new start for us. Me and my family found a game called Block Puzzle. It was very fun, but then, when their move a kid time ran out, I tried to give them more. After this happened, they sent me a request. I I approved it. We were having a family competition and it was going very well. After I approved my son’s request. It took at least 10 to 15 minutes for it to actually work. After that he got on ParentalControlApp for three minutes which I approved for 15 and I am not lying.
I looked everywhere to find how to delete the Mobicip app. it would not let me and my kids could not delete it themselves even though I may try turn that feature off. Then my daughters ran out, and I try to give it to her. after I did this it did the same thing with my son took 15 minutes to except and I I was sure we had good Internet and then only gave for five minutes of screen time after excepting 15 we then had to go to bed because it was so late. I hope that you can fix these issues and please respond to mine. Sincerely, Jamie.

I’ve always hated this app, but this is it.

I am a child who’s parent downloaded mobicip on both of my
devices and ever since I first got it I haven’t been able to even look up the word “water” or “rock” without it saying it’s inappropriate, but I have a bigger issue. I have a one year subscription for Video Star. Mobicip was put on my devices again a couple days ago and now it says that that subscription is no longer active? That’s so funny because it also did that with a game I had a subscription for for a month. It also stops me from using certain apps by claiming that my “wifi connection is bad”. We’ve gotten rid of mobicip before and the apps that said I had bad connection work. You idiots are either giving me $40 back or STOPPING YOUR STUPID APP FROM TAKING AWAY SUBSCRIPTIONS. ParentalControlApp is destroying my phone.

Complete trash, honestly

I’m on the kid side of this (I’m fourteen). You might think I’m biased, but hear me out. There is something very wrong with ParentalControlApp. It would delete my apps at a certain time and then put them back on at a certain time, even though my mom said I had access to it. She’s contacted the tech support multiple times, but they’d always give her answers that don’t make sense. They haven’t been helpful. It’s been screwing with my iPad. My apps keep giving me the notification that’s there’s bad internet, even when my internets fine. Then mom deleted it, and mobicip STILL thinks it has control over my entire iPad. It keeps trying to download ParentalControlApp . And I can’t access the internet. There are other things it’s screwed up too.

The bottom line is: DONT GET ParentalControlApp. It completely takes over your devices without you even telling it to do something.

Too Over the Top For Me. This app is very bad.

This program is absolutely horrible. Instead of only being able to reduce time on an app and at least get some time, Mobicip allows bad parents to get total control over their kids. One time I was trying to sign in on Google and because of Mobicip, 30 minutes of my precious time was wasted. I’m sure many other kids hate ParentalControlApp too. It seems like that parents can’t choose which apps to take off for screen time because there are some minor apps that are really important. IXL is one. Google Classroom is another one. Basically you’re limiting the whole device. On computers during off-time, you can’t even use the computers at all. This program is just over the top for me. It’s bad for the device too. It takes a very long time to charge when Mobicip is on. Mobicip is a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. Therefore, everyone should delete Mobicip right now. This program is just garbage. Garbage, garbage, garbage. 🔥

Disabled All Apps on my iPhone

I’ve had to contact Mobicip contact support no less than 12 times over the past six months. Once the new version of ParentalControlApp (monitoring Safari rather than as a browser) was downloaded it worked ok for a few weeks.

The problem is that the VPN that monitors the browsing within Safari would never connect. Because of this it would not allow me to use WiFi on my phone and would not connect to my phones LTE network either. This caused every single app on my phone to be disabled, sometimes days at a time. I would have to turn off my phone, delete and reinstall ParentalControlApp , contact support, and do every thing else I could to try and get ParentalControlApp to work. Eventually I gave up and have moved on to a different software.

ParentalControlApp is a good idea, but the execution and willingness from the staff to help get their app working has been frustrating and non-supportive.

Terrible but sometimes ok..

ParentalControlApp is terrible. I am a child that is forced to use Mobicip, and let me tell you, this thing glitches. Me and my dad have this thing called restricted mode and free time. Between 9:30 and 4:00 I have restricted mode on my phone which does not let me go on social media, safari, etc.
I am not mad because of this, I have learnt to deal with that. It is free time I am targeting. Mobicip's free time lets you go on any app you have downloaded, with no restrictions unless you go on a website or app that is innapropriate. Almost daily, after either sleep mode or restricted mode, my free time apps will not come back. This really bothers me because I am clearly in my free time, but I do not have my apps. And guess what, Mobicip does not hesitate to count down my minutes for overall screen time to make my phone completely shut off. Great. I do not want to have a screen time app that tics down my time but does not let me use my apps I would like. I would like ParentalControlApp much much much more if it would not do this, so maybe, just maybe, someone could try to fix this.

Mobicip is great but has some issues

I’ve tried others like google family, ourpact, and others I can’t remember, but this one seems to do all of what others can do but on cross platform, which is pretty great.

Since we have kids and adults on this I’m noticing that I’m getting blocked on apps I need, like finance apps. The apps can be downloaded just fine but content never shows up. I tried going in and allowing web addresses that I think ParentalControlApp hits but still nothing.

I would recommend once they have that stuff sorted out.

Facebook and Instagram information could use some updates.

Does a good job of blocking websites. But does not do a good job of showing what is being looked at on Facebook or Instagram. I do allow my kid to use these on the web browser and I know how long he is on the site. But it gives very little information as what they are looking at. I wish it would send snapshots of the screen so I could see some of the pages they are looking at.

Glad to hear you are working on it. I do talk with my child about what he is looking at. But most of instagram just gives me a link to Instagram.

Thanks for you work in helping with this wild thing called the internet.

Great for parents with kids. Not for people trying to simply filter their own devices.

The new update had some major issues of attaching itself to your whole device and not letting apps access the internet, such as One Note, or any book reading app that that you would download books for offline use. Whether you whitelisted the apps or not made no difference. I was unable to use my device and had to unsubscribe. They reached out to me several days later to tell me they fixed the issue, so I’m returning my rating to 4 stars. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt, but will not be using it anymore. I have since found better (for me) and cheaper ways to filter my IOS devices. Just keep these things in mind if you try it out.

Great app, even better customer service

App is great. Worked like it says. After a year I no longer needed it and it auto renewed my subscription and charged me. I contacted customer service about how I don’t use that email anymore and so wasn’t aware it would renew and charge me. They refunded me and asked what they could do to improve. Woah!!! I was so surprised. I expected a too bad, it’s your fault or something. They didn’t have to do that but they did. It’s so refreshing to receive this level of customer service in today’s world of big companies who don’t give a crap! A++ in my book! And ParentalControlApp works well :)

Great parental control app and great support!

ParentalControlApp is a fantastic content filter. It has an easy to use interface, great filter categories and very thorough reporting on history. The ability for you child to request a site that is being blocked and be notified wherever you are and grant access is amazing. Also, I put in a support request when I ran into an issue and the support team responded to me the same day and got me taken care of quick and painless. It’s definitely one of the cheapest options for parental controls out there but it gives you the control of something much pricier.

I highly recommend!

Tried others, no comparison

This is not the first parental control software I had installed. The others have been uninstalled and refunded. I had trouble accessing a commercial website due to having a proxy server ( I think that was the issue), I reported it to Mobicip and they were very responsive. They kept me up to date on their progress and have fixed the issue. I would not recommend any other. UPDATE September 7, 2022 i had an issue logging into the AARP website and reported it to Mobicip. Within 24 hours they emailed me back with some suggestions to see if it could be simply resolved, it persisted. I reported back and they sent it to their development department. The issue has been fixed better than i could have asked. I STILL recommend Mobicip for all your VPN needs. UPDATE November 8,2022 I purchased a new laptop and was getting an intermittent “authentication error” message. I sent it to Mobicip and had a response and repair (partly my fault) within a few days. I now have no issues with “authentication error” and am totally satisfied with the quick response. I STILL recommend Mobicip for all VPN needs.

Helps me stock my siblings when they are using my iPad

Hello I’m a teenager and I love ParentalControlApp it isn’t being used on my phone but on my iPad my siblings like to use my iPad and i say yes but to be able to stock them and spy on them features i love i really like that i get notified when they install new apps i love that i can pause it so lets say there being annoying i can pause my ipad one time i played a prank on my sister and brother with another app i used and they got really mad i also have family sharing connected to both my iPad iCloud account were i enabled screentime i can prevent deleting apps installing apps making in app purchases set downtime and app limits restrict and lock privacy settings prevent passcode changes i also use a app called kids security my sister use to use my iPad and take it to her friends with find my friends and kids security and Mobicip i can track there every move it is indeed sneaky so if your installing ParentalControlApp on your child’s device be honest

So far so good!

I've tried several other web filters and found mobicip to be the best for our family. It is flexible and comprehensive and always leans towards filtering too much which is just fine for me as I can adjust from there. With a very curious 7 year old in the house, searching is often done by images, so we tested this out thoroughly before turning him loose with your product. Too much filtering is best. We tried others with the VPN tied filtering which slowed down our older model ipads so much they were virtually unusable. Thank you for making a product that works for our family. I also appreciate that you allow a true free trial period so we could test it out. I contacted customer support and found them to be very reponsive.

Best app ever!

I have recommended ParentalControlApp to dozens and dozens of people. It is an incredible app because it keeps children safe. Apple is attacking these apps. Apple says that only companies should use mobile device management to manage their employees. Apparently Apple believes that the company/Employee relationship is morn Porten and then the parent/child responsibility. Apple does not care that parents want to protect their children from the filth and vile that is on the Internet. Apple does not want to lose the enterprise business that would result if they restricted companies from using mobile device management. Instead they cowardly attack parents by restricting the most protective apps. Parents are simply trying to protect their children from the most harmful exposures. Apple should be ashamed of itself.

Served Its Purpose

We used Mobicip for quite a few years while our kids were getting “introduced” to technology. It allowed us to give them access to the internet without fear of accidentally going to bad locations. ParentalControlApp allowed them to request access when needed, making it easy for us to discuss why they should or shouldn’t go to specific sites. Some may complain that it is too strict but at this entry stage I would rather block 10 good sites than let 1 bad site accidentally sneak through.

We just cancelled our subscription as the kids are old enough now to rely on controls available in their devices. Cancellation was smooth, efficient and professional...no issues.

Mobicip served its purpose and helped us teach our kids proper use of the internet.

The best filtering solution.

I’ve tried various apps and programs and all have had one shortcoming or another. Of all I’ve tried, Mobicip is the best solution. The combination of customizable filtering, time limits, and accountability in a self contained browser that works is something I’m grateful for.

Pro tip, you may need to set safari to ‘only allow certain websites’ and then list whichever positive sites you do want access to using Mobicip in tandem rather than simply blocking safari and leaving this as the sole browser. I say this because some other apps have built in browsers that run a type of safari within ParentalControlApp and simply removing safari doesn’t remove their access but by allowing only specific ‘good’ sites on safari this will block all other access even from within other apps.

Mobicip is a great product, I’m thankful to the team for doing the work and putting it out there.

Great help for parents

As a parent and a teacher this is one of the better monitoring applications for kids. Schools monitor what our children are doing online and so should parents. Mobicip was very easy to use, great technical support and it worked on my son's Apple products and his Windows computer all with one nominal yearly fee. I was able to set different monitoring levels for my sons, who were different ages. I could turn off their access to the Internet in hourly intervals and it could monitor applications they loaded. It worked seamlessly with the existing parental controls on their Apple products and with the computer. Anytime I had a question about using or changing something with Mobicip the tech support was quick to respond and they were always able to resolve the concern. I have recommended this application to all my friends and colleagues. This is a great investment in your child’s safety.

My children safe on the net -

To be honest I trust my children a lot. But I am sure that at the age of 7 and 11, my children can't differentiate between what's appropriate and what's not. I installed Mobicip's parental control it has made our family's online experience safe and secure. When I get notified that my child is trying to visit some inappropriate website, I sit down with them at night and have an open conversation; often they chance upon inappropriate links by mistake. They were very embarrased at first, but today I can say that enforcing parental control was maybe the best decision.
