After further use of the cleaner and checking my photos using the recently introduced swiping feature, I noticed that several similar or duplicate photos were not detected in the Similars tab (I want to preface that my photos include Real-Life photos and some Anime illustrations that I found to be really cool). While it does detect some similar or duplicate photos, it misses a significant portion of them. This issue is somewhat alleviated by the built-in duplication detection feature in the stock Photos app. Although the Photos app has similar shortcomings when it comes to identifying certain duplicates, I find it slightly more reliable overall.

That’s not to say Clever Cleaner is bad. It offers a more intuitive way to review and delete similar or duplicate photos, and the new swiping feature enhances this by allowing you to manually go through your photos on a month-by-month basis. This helps you identify and remove duplicates—or simply delete photos that you feel aren’t worth the storage space.

Unfortunately, if you’re looking for a more automated solution to remove similar or duplicate photos, it’s best to wait until the detection capabilities are significantly improved. With further refinements, I think CleverCleaner has real potential to be a great tool for freeing up a bit of extra space—especially if you tend to hoard data. But right now, it still needs more time in the oven.

For me, the only (somewhat) useful feature is that it will detect photos that have “similars,” But it is not accurate enough for me to feel confident that CleverCleaner would not delete photos that I want to keep… So I still have to go through all of my photos to make sure that I will have all the content that is important to me.

What annoys me the most about CleverCleaner is that for the other three options/categories of the data it sorts through, there’s no option to view it in context/ among the timeline.

It just pulls and separates it by size (which is somewhat useful); but
It is as if CleverCleaner is saying, “here’s your stuff. Get rid of it,” instead of “what’s important for you to keep?”

Why does it automatically assume that because the pictures is a screenshot that it should get deleted? that is annoying as well

I want to congratulate you first of all for letting us have an almost complete media deletion tool. You need to let users zoom in/out when previewing a media file. GIFS aren’t supported from what I notice. Knowing if it’s a RAW file, just a normal JPEG, PNG would be great. Preview from live pics it’s also missing inside the the swipe function which is the fastest way from my perspective to check fully whatever media file and save/delete it …..

Today list is missing and even a random list could be there too as similar apps offer these.

The reason I didn’t give it full stars is that when deleting duplicates, the photo that I didn’t delete disappears in CleverCleaner reel. It doesn’t seem to actually delete it as it’s still in Photos, but it did freak me out a bit, and makes me a bit hesitant.

The only other issue is the loading time of some images and all videos. That’s just a small inconvenience and wouldn’t affect my rating.

This is a pretty good app. It helped me do something I had been wanting to do for a while — get rid of similar photos.

It also compresses Live photos, which is great. Keep in mind that you will lose how you framed the photo if you use 16:9 because it is giving you everything that’s there and changing to a different ratio. That’s not so bad, but I’m annoyed that I lose all of my edits to my photos. I didn’t realize this until I had already processed several gigs of photos. I wasn’t happy about that.

It would be five stars if not for that last part. As it is, it’s 3.5 stars for me.

so so good—i feel like im waiting for a catch, a data breach, something, but as of now it’s so perfect! does exactly as advertised, and is good at finding duplicates/similar photos. what a lifesaver for my storage!

one minor improvement: having a select all button when looking at similar photos would be super helpful! sometimes i stumble upon photos that i realize i need ZERO copies of and it’d be great to delete it in one button.

CleverCleaner puts similar photos side-by-side for you to decide to manually delete (it chooses what it thinks is the best photo to keep, which you can uncheck).
I now see side-by-side how similar so many photos are.
So many of what I previously had decided to save, I really don’t need. So I just deleted 192 pics I truly won’t miss. Haven’t paid anything yet….

It lets you see large files to delete so I can clean my iPhone storage more easy, the default photos app doesn’t let me do this and my phone storage is so bad it keeps freezing and stuff and it made me so upset I slammed it and shattered it and it’s a 16 pro max so definitely recommend CleverCleaner to make your phone run better and clean stuff you don’t need it’s amazing

Have had the software for two weeks and been able to eliminate 40 GB from my photos on my iPhone. The best feature is the ability to review live images and compress them in bulk rather than having to edit each photo.
No ads or pressure to upgrade or pay for software which I will gladly do as soon as I figure out how to pay.

Pretty good app! You have to manually go through your photos, of course, since you wouldn’t want just any app deleting them. But it does a very good job identifying the best of a bunch of similar photos and highlighting large videos you might not need anymore. I highly recommend it!! I usually don’t leave reviews unless something is pretty good.

Every time I take a picture, I take multiple shots of essentially the same thing. Just in case. After years of doing that, I end up with a ton of photos that are essentially the same photo taking a half a second apart. Clever Cleaner is a great app for helping wade through that mess. It makes the process very easy and the kind of thing that you can do when you have a few spare minutes. Definitely recommend.

It worked as advertised (on photos and video), and I wonder why it isn't a native iOS feature. For safety, I disconnected from all networks, and CleverCleaner seems to run as a stand-alone app the device, not exfiltrating data. It is the sort of app that I will never run while connected to any network, because of what it could be learning about me while scanning my data.

With each new update, my XS iPhone would always inform me that I didn’t have enough available storage. So I would manually go through and try to get rid of games that I don’t play in pictures that I didn’t need.
Then I saw Clever Cleaner when I was looking at a review for which app cleaned for storage. I wanted to find something that was easy and free.
Clever Cleaner is just that! I’m not real phone savvy. I still have my XS, so I wanted to give this one a try and it is great it condenses all your long videos of which I had way too many. Looking forward to seeing what else it’s done for me in regards to getting rid of duplicates and cookies.

I usually don’t post reviews for apps, but this a worthy case! 🙌🏻 Just cleared 45GB 🔥 of junk 🚮 with Clever Cleaner in minutes. The AI duplicate photo remover is actually easy to use. Oh, and it’s totally free, no ads (which is rare these days!). If you need to free up space fast, this is a solid pick - saves you 5 hours of manual cleanup. Cons? Maybe missing email cleaning or merging duplicate contacts, but honestly, for a free cleaner app, it gets the job done. Strongly recommended!

Clever Cleaner is the best free iPhone cleaner app I've found. It's straightforward, works quickly, and has no hidden charges or annoying ads. CleverCleaner makes clearing out duplicate photos and unnecessary videos so easy. However, I'd like to see it expand with features like email cleanup or detecting similar videos. Also, the similar photo function could use improvement - it doesn’t always pick the best shot. Still, it's a great free tool for keeping your iPhone tidy.

CleverCleaner is just amazing. You don’t have to pay any money for it ever, you can do a detailed search of your photos to find the duplicates, and move them all to the trash for you. It even shows you what photos videos and files are taking up the most storage and you can do smart cleanup, which will pretty much do everything for you. CleverCleaner is amazing and I would recommend it to anybody. to the creators of CleverCleaner I give you a round of applause.👏You’ve made something amazing.

I was a bit skeptical about CleverCleaner. I am not very trusting when it comes to other people/things deciding what to get rid of and what to keep. Granted, I still look through all the pictures it wants to delete, but it has been about 99% accurate in its suggestions. It has saved me tons of time in the decision-making process, and I love that I can do it a little at a time instead of in one big lump that would take me days to go thru. Definitely recommend CleverCleaner!

Free forever, free I’m so happy I found it literally it’s the best app no annoying ad no freaking paying ever. You don’t even have to create an account. You just hit how much you want to share. You delete what you don’t want and Bam you have storage I recommend you download this because if you don’t, you’re stupid just sitting there looking for apps that want you to pay that say yeah they’re free but they’re lying. I have completely run out of storage and was missing special moments that I couldn’t capture. So far CleverCleaner has been awesome if cleaning out duplicates, lives and screenshots in order to make room for more photos. I like being about to manually go through them myself but love that it can group it all together.
