I enjoy the puzzles but being interrupted in the middle of one multiple times is very annoying. I can handle ads between puzzles but during a puzzle is just frustrating. And it’s not even one. It’s like every few letters you finish you get an ad. It would be nice if you had an option to eliminate ads by paying a few dollars for the game. Like $2.99 or something. I think a lot of people would be willing to pay that to stop having the ads.

I love the game, it is very challenging for me. I wish there’s an option to pay so I can start the next level right away. Other than that it’s great game.

If I were to create a game, and I was using phrases like this game uses, I would make sure that it’s spelled correctly, and make sure the facts are correct.

I’m on the Titanic puzzle, and it says “he wins a third-class ticket to board the titanic in a poker game, hoping to sell his artwork in Europe”. This is false. Titanic sunk on its way to New York, not Europe.

I’ve found several errors while playing this. Kinda annoying.

I can deal with occasional ads, honestly I’m not even opposed to paying a dollar or two to get rid of them. But they’re after every puzzle and there’s no way to get rid of them. It gives you the choice to watch an ad and get extra rewards, but even if you click no you’re getting an ad. Even all of that might be tolerable if the ads didn’t negatively impact the performance of Cryptogram , but it does.

Also, a quote from the movie Juno deadnames actor Elliot Page in its source. Not cool.

I enjoyed this game in the beginning. I guess I reached the end of the available games. Rather than saying this there was an option for “harder cryptograms” and “longer cryptograms,” which was fine. Then, although it indicated that there were a few unsolved puzzles, when I tried to play them it showed a banner that said that there was no internet connection. Really? I could connect to all of my other websites.

I’m sure that there is a better way to end the games!

I love this game. My only request is that there be an option to purchase no ads.

The puzzles are ok, but the ads that force you to sit and watch irritating and sickening things by not letting you opt out before it shows the ugly part is not. It’s disgusting and sickening for me to sit and watch the king of royal match get ate by a snake. I don’t like snakes in the first place.

I have brain atrophy and I find this game helpful in keeping my focus. Easy and fun to

It should autofill like the other ones do, but they have mistake trackers so I’m not sure that would work.

I absolutely loved this game when I first played it. I continued to play it and was loving every second of it. However, once I hit a certain point, the puzzles began to repeat themselves. This game had great potential. Unfortunately, I must delete it now.

I enjoy playing this app games, but this one has a problem for me and probably other people too. The numbers under the letters are way too. faint !!!! They are way too hard to read them.
Please bold the numbers so they will be easier to see and to work with while trying to figure out the Quote in the this app game!

Only thing I would like is the ability to zoom in on the puzzle. Can be straining on the eyes.

Any movie or book quotes should include the writer who came up with the words. Not just the character or actor who spoke them. Please give the writers their credit. Thanks!

I was having fun with this one, and I’m more than happy to sit for an ad, but this game has ads that depict body-horror adjacent animated images including a woman’s backside with a nail sticking out of it, covered in boils and pus. If you’re sensitive to this kind of image, toss this game in the trash. I’m planning on deleting it after I write this review just for the content of the ads.

I was really enjoying this game. I completed numerous packs and all that. Apparently last night my entire game reset itself. I don’t see anything in Cryptogram how to contact them. Guess I’m just going to delete because I don’t want to redo over 25 levels and numerous packs…

It’s a fun game and concept, but after the first couple puzzles it shows an ad EVERY TIME. Some are so easy to solve I spend more time watching ads then playing. Devs you should have an internal time clock where only display ads after x minutes rather than every game.

I like the game and enjoying playing it. However, most of the ads are absolutely disgusting. The depict pimple filled body parts with blood and pus. There are also almost naked characters in the makeover game. It’s understandable that ads are needed to pay the developers. Pick different ones and Remove this ads from the game as they are disturbing to say the least. I had to delete Cryptogram because of their choice of ads.
PS like other have mentioned I would be willing to pay a small fee to remove the ads completely.

It is so simple to fact check these days, there is no reason to have so much incorrect info in this game. Some of it is attributing quotes to the wrong people, and some of it is common sense; whoever is writing these out should know Romanian and Roman are not the same. There also needs to be an option for dark mode and other visual settings like font size and width.

This game is super fun, I’ve been playing it almost nonstop since I downloaded it. But the ads are super annoying. Before and after every puzzle there’s an ad even if you chose not to claim the extra rewards. I would happily pay a few bucks to remove the ads

After playing a few levels it’s not even worth it because you have to sit through the same super long scammy ad over and over and over and over and most of your time is wasted watching there’s ridiculous stupid ads and barely any actual time playing. Waste of time and seems really sketchy based off the ads.

And, it is just me, but I find it aggravating to have that “helping hand” still on through the 3rd-4th puzzle.
If there is any way to turn it off, please tell me.

One really annoying this is all the adds like can their be an option to get rid of them. Also a dark theme would be amazing because it makes it easier for some people to read. A big issue I have is that I can’t get past level 7 in pop hits #1 because it won’t let me. If I open the level everything is already filled in and I can’t do anything. I can’t restart the level or try to get it to move on. It’s just stuck their so I can’t even finish that set of levels now.

I love this game. I’d easily give it five stars if not for one small issue. I’m low vision and colorblind. Some of the symbols, especially the colored ones, are almost impossible to distinguish. It would be nice if there was a colorblind mode that made all the packs use Numbers as its symbols.

This is a solid app (i especially appreciate the ability to change text size!), but there’s just a little too much ad time compared to play time… there’s even an option at the end of each level to watch an ad for a higher reward or skip it… except BOTH options play an ad anyway! Nor is there a “spend a few bucks to turn off ads” option, which most apps like this have, while still keeping that “watch an ad for a better reward” button. i’m going to try another app until a “Pay to Remove Ads” option is available.

I saw Cryptogram on my phone and forgot I downloaded it, so I thought it was some cryptocurrency app downloaded on my phone automatically by apple or from a pop up add on a illegal steaming websites.

I hate ads!! They take up too much time and I lose my train of thought.. should be an option to pay to remove them

I love this game it’s relaxing and challenging, but they are way too many ads. There should be a option to pay to remove ads.

I enjoy word puzzles, including this one. Downside is, they limit the number of incorrect guesses. So you’re going to have to write it down and play that way. The harder it gets, the more you have to use linguistic patterns to figure out the answer, which is exactly how it should be. But that requires making mistakes and testing your theory. But putting the wrong letter in doesn’t allow you to continue under that assumption, and try to correct it. Cryptogram immediately tells you you’re wrong, but it should be where it only checks your mistakes when you’re done. Other than that, still a decent game.

I like the game but i have a vpn that tells me when an app or website is dangerous and I got multiple notifications from the vpn while I was playing I’ve never gotten multiple notifications while using a dangerous app or website so I didn’t want to but I had to delete it don’t let this stop you from playing it but I just thought I should say something about it

Finally, a this app app worth playing with. Only problems right now are that the font is so light it is hard to see. Also too many ads. I’d pay for ad-free and ability to adjust the light on the screen for visually impaired.

I was having fun until I got to the songs, you do the lyrics and I got very confused after I did #8/10 and it says the lyrics are in the song before he cheats by Carrie Underwood. Now I’ve been singing that song almost my whole life and I couldn’t for the life of me remember where I’m the song said the line “I’m still alive but I’m barely breathing” so I googled it and that song has no lyrics that say that. So idk where this game gets their lyrics/quotes from but if you’re gonna quote someone I feel like you should do it accurately. It’s a good game, gets you thinking a lot but now you’re making me want to fact check every quote and song lyrics to make sure they’re all right. Maybe it’s just me.

I love this game and I play it all the time. It's super rewarding, the daily challenges are fun to keep up with, and there are not too many ads. My only suggestion, and it's a small one, is that there is at least one quote attributed to actor Elliot Page, but credits his deadname. It may behoove someone to change it to Elliot if possible. Keep up the good work!

I really like the game and is why I gave it five stars, but is in 9/10 on songs #2 and it is stuck. Everytime I click into it, it goes to the one already finished. Would love to get this issue resolved to be able to finish that one up.

Inappropriate content via ads. It’s not often you find apps that don’t want all your information, I was excited that this one didn’t and was kinda a puzzle, which it’s not. And the advertisements aren’t frequent but they are not 4+ age appropriate. Sooo parents don’t be suggesting this to kids and this ap needs to change its age range because they know what ads they allow on this… and that is illegal to bait KIDS to inappropriate content …

I love this game!! Only downfall is too many ads and no option to buy out of it. Also, I wish there was an option to read through old solved quotes. Some of them are really good quotes that I’d like to refer back to!

So I was enjoying this game SO much! I hadn’t lost 1 game, thanks to the ‘ad revive’ feature, I was able to come back and it never took me more than 3 mistakes! Then it happened. I used my ad revive and the game froze! I waited 5 minutes on that ad screen for it to give me an ‘X’ to close it, but nothing! I tapped frantically trying to trigger a restart or SOMETHING, to no avail. Left the game and came back to the same results. I had to actually close the game and open it back up! When Inwent back, it counted a life lost! Not only that, but the mistakes I do usually make are because I ‘fat finger’ (accidentally press the wrong letter next to the one I intend to) and it counts against me! Again, the only issue I have so far is I lost my streak. Great game, not too many ads, and quite challenging. Very fun.

I would totally give this game five stars but currently it’s only at four because of the ads. After each game or a new event there is an ad. It’s quite annoying and there is no option to buy ads free. Besides that it’s a fun game and gets your minding thinking. If they put a remove add option I will update to 5 stars.

Game is very enjoyable and i love it! My only suggestion is adding an option to buy the ad free version. I would absolutely be willingly to pay a few dollars to go ad free because this game is fun! It stinks that there are so many ads that are completely unavoidable due to no option to go ad free. Please look into offering this!

I really love this game but I can’t get pass a certain point. I’ve tried getting a clue but it says no internet connection. I’ve deleted the game, went to off of my data, didn’t work. Deleted it again then tried my wifi, didn’t work. I’ve done both with even restarting my phone. And I know my wifi and data is good. Cryptogram just won’t work so now I can’t even play the game because of the error.

I’m really liking the game, but I want more bundles of levels, and the ads can get very annoying.

I mostly want more level bundles, though, so I can still have puzzles to solve besides the daily ones. Even if it’s one addition a week, I’ll take it.

This game is amazing with lots of new, fun and engaging levels for different topics, ranging from Sherlock Holmes, to Titanic, to rock hits to quotes. On top of that, there are daily levels which require a bit more thinking because a letter can be locked until you solve the letter to the left and right of it. (For example, ‘O’ in word ‘for’ would be locked until you solved ‘f’ and ‘r’). Each daily level you solve adds a square to a picture. My only wish is that I wish I could see past solved Cryptograms since some of the quotes are wonderful, or play past cryptograms again.
But still, I would 100% recommend this game to others.

Lastly here are some this app tips to help you out:
- Look at the whole picture especially if it’s a song or a movie quote- you might recognize it if you’re not so focused on one letter.
- Try to find the theme of the quote. This can help provide some context. If a quote is talking about a plant, they probably aren’t going to mention something completely unrelated like a sticker.
- Fill out the letters you know
- Think of common words, like Is, that, and, the, and, etc.

Absolutely love the game. It’s a great challenge and I don’t mind the “punishment” of starting over when I make too many wrong guesses. I feel like that is an important part because I don’t want to be allowed to just guess things randomly and keep playing. There’s no challenge in that. Only reason I’m leaving my review at 4/5 stars is because I WANT an option to remove ads for money. I don’t care if it costs me $10, I want to pay to remove them. This game deserves the money, and I’d play even longer if I didn’t constantly have to watch an AD before playing a level, and after.

The game is really fun but it keeps showing me ads for some disgusting pimple popping game and I can’t take those anymore. I looked for a way to pay to remove ads and this game doesn’t have that. Unplayable until they ad a way to remove ads.

The game it self is addictive and fun. I have no issues with the game itself. It’s the Ads. At end of every puzzle, option to watch an Ad and get 250 coins. If you want to forego that and settle for less coins? Oh yea. Watch the same length Ad for less coins. What can make that worse? Let’s make every watch an Ad midway through a puzzle… stupid. Easiest way to make me stop playing your game.

Been playing this game for several months and recently I have been getting pop up’s from the game to my internet browser for some survey. And ad breaks ever so often. I understand getting ads to revive or to when you want to get hits or starting over, but not right in the middle of my game. Getting to the point where I will uninstall if I keep getting pop up ads when I’m playing.

Look it wasn’t that expensive but when you pay to exclude ads there should not be an exception unless it’s stated somewhere!!!
When you pay the $4.99, you still will be forced to watch the ad for the higher coin amount to get 250 coins. Also, the x5 should be after the 25 coin block, not the 250. 5x 250 would be 1250!

I’m pretty patient with ads but this game has an ad when I start a puzzle and when I finish it, which is usually just a few minutes at most. Back to back ads between short puzzles is not cool.

Also this game needs a dark mode so I don’t blast my eyes with a glaring white background when playing at night.

There is a hang up with the game anytime I try to watch videos for the ‘free’ categories. The screen goes to black and just sits there. Even after a minute nothing progress. I have to go out of the game and back in to continue playing. Please fix this if it a programming problem. I do not want to delete and restart all over…. Thanks

This game is straight up awesome! I got addicted once I started! Unlike the others, this apps ad was actually truthful. I love how the game used inspirational quotes from others in this game. This is truly a satisfying game to play, especially on your free time.

I love the game and it is very fun and relaxing. However, once you do the puzzles, there are no more other than the daily puzzle. It turns you off at the end. Leaves you wanting to play with nothing to play.

PLEASE ADD MORE PUZZLES AND LEVELS!!

I have competed them all and can only do daily puzzles and it makes me want to delete Cryptogram and find another. I will keep watching for new levels and puzzles. Thanks for what you do offer. I did enjoy them.

First off, let me say, I love word games. Gameplay for this game can be challenging but that’s what makes it so fun!!

The reason I’m leaving a 3/5 star review is that ads get in the way of gameplay. I understand that you may be a small company that rely on ads to make any money, but there are way too many.

Example, there are daily challenges - before you begin to play an AD shows, sometimes you can skip after 5 seconds. Then after ad you start to play. A little time goes by in the game and the DURING gameplay, there are “AD breaks” where you have to watch another ad before resuming. These can happen multiple times in a game. Then once the level is finished, you watch another AD before continuing.

I understand ads before or after but not before and after and during gameplay.

I’d love to continue playing but these ads are too much!!!

While this game is well made and has a lovely variety, I with there was a way to make all of the indicators numbers instead of colorful music notes or what have you. The colorful music notes and such are much more difficult to work with if you are color blind or have dyslexia. This limits the bundles you can play extremely. While having different indicators is fun it would be nice to have an option to turn them off in favor of numbers.

I downloaded Cryptogram a couple months ago maybe and I loved the category options and the different symbols used for the codes.

However, the ads during the level is really excessive. There are already many ads but I am used to the ones before and after a level. The ads mid level that I can’t even skip?? Those are ridiculous and I don’t care about the 5 coin “prize” for watching a full ad I didn’t have the choice to avoid. Please take these out!!

I love playing this to pass the time, it’s the perfect amount of challenging and fun for my brain (: but recently the game started freezing up on me when i try to play the events.. so i stopped trying with the events and just played the other levels, no biggie i guess… but now i can’t play anything at all. Cryptogram opens fine but once i try to play it freezes on me ):

The idea seems really unique and cool but whether it is a flaw in design or the nature of the puzzle many puzzles are literally unsolvable without blind guessing and hints. You are often left in a position where you are effectively playing hangman but unlike hangman you have to guess the letter and where it goes to get confirmation. Ive had multiple puzzles where it started with only 2 letters and both were already completed so i had no possible way of placing a single letter without random guessing. You can do minesweeper deduction logic where you make assumptions and see if they make sense but without the ability to play letters in the wrong spot instead of just being told you are wrong that is impractical. If i could turn autocheck off it would be an alright puzzle game but with it on the game is just a lot of random guessing or watching ads for hints to get an actually reasonable number of starting letters.

Above all that the ads are so intrusive trying to navigate the menu to pick a category requires watching sometimes 4+ ads in a 30 second period. Thats not a huge problem though because if the game is good i would just pay to remove ads but its not so its not worth it.

I love Cryptogram . Nice graphics. But the developer has injected advertisements where ever possible. Make 3 mistakes? Watch an ad. Want a new pack? Watch ads to get the coins. Completing a pack gets you 500 coins but the packs cost over 1000. It is designed to lead you back to advertisements. Want to open a chest? Just get 150 keys. Each puzzle in a pack gets you roughly 3 keys so you need to solve 5 packs at a cost of over 5000 coins. The chest won’t give you back 5000 coins, so it is another way to sell more advertisements. I really love the game but I waste SO much time on the ads it starts to seem like I am watching ads more than I am playing the game. By the way, I paid the real money for no ads but realized I still have to watch them if I want new packs. SO much promise only to ask users to pay the price.

I’ve found this game to be very comforting as a daily puzzle to get my mind working. I love the different types of symbols ranging from colorful shapes to numbers. It keeps the game interesting. I also love the wide variety of categories to choose from for playing. As a suggestion, I’d love to see a category where each puzzle uses every letter in the alphabet!

I feel like the whole point of trying to solve this type of puzzle is not knowing ANY of the letters and finding patterns and recognizable words, not just filling in blanks. I wish there was a way to turn off the hints and solve it with no help. Sometimes all you need is one letter to figure out the rest of it. I don’t mind having the option of a hint when you need it, but giving away one or more letters is giving the whole thing away. Too easy.

The reason I am giving Cryptogram 1 star is because the daily challenges are very clearly created by an AI. Most of the quotes cannot be attributed to a real human being (despite the completed quote always claiming to be written by a specific person), and a quick google search for each quote proves this. The quotes are always some variation of:

The film industry in [city name] provides a rich tapestry of diverse…

The science of [city name] has created many innovative and creative…

[city name]’s streets have history on every street corner, and…

If you don’t believe me, complete these quotes yourself and see if you can find a real source for them. They don’t exist. I’ve inputted these quotes into AI detectors and shown >90% likelihood of AI being used, but I didn’t even have to do this for myself because it’s so obvious by just playing the game.

I will adjust my rating if this practice ends.

The game is really addicting, and to anyone I show it, they cannot move their eyes away from it. The only thing is that some of the levels like literature 1 and movies 3 are not letting me into the pack after I purchased them. If that bug could be fixed, that would be perfect. Thank you and the team for making this gem.

Update: now it even won’t allow me to go into the hint shop without the whole game freeezing

I’ve had this game for about 3 months or so and I love it. I play it more than any other games I have. But today when I updated it I couldn’t play. I tried tapping on the settings and all of the other things you can tap on and nothing is happening. It’s like it froze up. I tried redownloading it and it worked through the first couple of puzzles but after that it froze up again. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to delete this game I would like a solution for it please.

I really enjoy the game but the glitches alone are making me look for a different app with similar puzzles. On the hidden spots where you have to get the letter on each side to reveal the blank, I will get both letters but it’ll still show the hidden spot as locked. The only way to unlock is watch an ad for a hint when I don’t need a hint. And then that finished the puzzle but it’s still telling me I have more to solve. I can’t pass that level now even though it’s solved and finished. So I physically can’t continue to play, it won’t let me advance. Fix the bugs and it’ll be a solid app.

It would be much better if entering a letter filled in that letter everywhere in the puzzle. It is a waste of time to find every place every letter goes, especially on long puzzles. Too easy to accidentally hit or bump a wrong letter and only be allowed 3 mistakes and then have to wait through a 60-90 second ad to wipe out only 1 mistake, not all 3 mistakes. Please rethink this game from the vantage point of the players, not trying to insert ads everywhere possible.

I like this game but it is very irritating that it doesn’t automatically fill in ALL the letters when you have solved the letter. I have played many times and most of the time, if I made a mistake it was due to accidentally putting the letter in the wrong space when I was filling in all the spaces with the correct letter. If it would fill them in automatically, I would hardly ever have a mistake and the game would go much faster. I would like and appreciate that much better. What is the point of having to fill in every letter if you already know it is correct? That should be the advantage of playing online and not with a pen or pencil.

The game was originally pretty fun but I’ve had the game for about 3 days and I’ve had 2 puzzles become unsolvable because double-locked tiles don’t always unlock after you’ve solved the letters around it, which I wouldn’t mind if it were as simple as restarting but that resets the entire puzzle and you have to watch an ad to do so, and likely get another ad break while redoing it. The ad pacing would normally feel fine without the need to restart some levels, triggering more ads.

It’s just frustrating to have to redo the puzzle at all, on top of having to watch the ads again, and sometimes losing event rewards in the process.

I like the game itself a lot, but the number of ads is honestly absurd. I don’t mind having a couple ads in a game; I understand that developers want to make money. But here, you have to watch an ad before you play a level, DURING the level if you take “too” long (sometimes more than once! and it’s really not even that long!), after the level, so on and so forth. I’ll probably look for a similar game from a different developer because I really feel like I’m watching more ads than I am playing the game.

Daily puzzles STOPPED WORKING as of December 31, 2023 & all appearances prove that this game apps developers do not bother to concern themselves with the updates or running or Cryptogram when part of it goes down. In addition, it might be more helpful if developers had thought to create a miens of contacting them THROUGH Cryptogram ! But equally evident is the fact, they DO NOT & it took me a little time to find an email address to contact them! I’d give Cryptogram 5 stars if I thought for a second they CARE…BUT THEY DO NOT CARE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON Cryptogram. PLENTY OF OTHERS LIKE IT TO TRY. PERHAPS ONE OF THOSE MIGHT TRULY WATCH Cryptogram TO MAKE CERTAIN IT IS ALWAYS RUNNING CORRECTLY.

This is one of those classic word puzzles that never gets old. Cryptogram does a great job with it and has a nice interface that makes it easy and fun. I highly recommend it.

That said, there’s a new feature where it waits until you least expect it and then throws an ad break at you. I don’t think that’s a good move when you have a game that involves concentration. It’s completely jarring and ruins wherever I am in the puzzle. Once I click through and get back to the game, my focus is all off and it takes me another minute to get back into it. It’s particularly bad and might send me looking for one of the many other games that deliver the same puzzles. Short term revenue for a long term loss. If that feature disappears, id give this 5 stars and recommend this to anyone who likes word puzzles.

The game itself is great, but I don’t recommend for a long term player. I liked it well enough to pay for ad free version quickly, but I didn’t realize that there is only enough content for a few weeks of play before I’ve ran out of levels I can do. You get coins by doing collections/levels and daily puzzles; you use those coins to buy more collections. While at first a lot of the collections are cheap, they’ve gotten more expensive to where there’s now a net loss of coins. I now can’t do any more puzzles without buying coins or watching ads. I’ve done all the backlog of daily puzzles, and as many levels as I can. Now I have to wait for a daily puzzle a day to give me 25 coins, to wait on them to add up before I can unlock any more puzzles.

I really do like the game, but there are some things that would make it a better experience.
- It easily heats up my phone and can get really slow/glitchy if it’s running for a long time and/or you have anything running in the background.
- I don’t like that the super long puzzles have the same number of hearts as a short one. It would be nice to have more leeway just in case you accidentally click the wrong letter.
- It would be nice if, when you click on a letter/symbol, it highlighted that symbol all over the board. It has this in the tutorial, and I was disappointed when it disappeared. This would also be really helpful for people who are colorblind when there are colored symbols.

Don’t get me wrong, you deserve ad revenue to continue making a living. I can understand that. I can give up a section of the screen for that minimally intrusive banner ad for that reason.

There’s justifiable, avoidable and voluntary ads(example: extra 250 coins for watching an ad, retry chance for watching an ad) that I can understand too. And if I were to wish so, I will watch them.

But there’s intrusive, screen-hogging, unavoidable, immersion-breaking ads after every game that embodies the word “punitive”. It’s punishing, not rewarding, the player when you force an ad immediately after each game clear. That just boggles my mind. And unfortunately seems to the norm for so many games. But isn’t acceptable for me, and this is yet another one.

I LOVE this game but, glitches are ridiculous and costly. I have now had to delete and reinstall Cryptogram 3 times now to get it to continue. The first time, I had an locked letter that should have unlocked open but did not. I could not proceed to go back. At that point I had spent around $5.99 on hints which I then lost. I re-installed it and then it froze after solving the puzzle. It would not move on to the next puzzle. Again,delete Cryptogram and re-install and again lost curchased hints. It is currentlyq frozen AGAIN after completing a puzzle! This is the last time I’m going to lose another 5.99. I just going to delete Cryptogram . Such a shame; otherwise it’s a great game!!!!

I really love this game. The cost for no adds is reasonable and you do not have to spend anymore money to keep playing. My only issue is that the daily challenges are not even remotely challenging. They are little more than a search for which letter goes with which number. The only puzzles that are slightly challenging are the “ultra hard” ones. By the games own stats, >99% of people can finish the puzzles on the first try. I am in hopes that writing this review will induce the devs to add more difficult puzzles.

The game is, honestly, quite excellent: five star quality… but:

[• Battery draining: possibly related more to my model phone model than Cryptogram , so I’ll give it a pass; but if I didn’t have the ads, my battery wouldn’t be drained).

Ad-Free Version just $4.99!…? No?!?
The Developers ADvertise the promise of an “Ad-Free” experience for $4.99; a fair value for the quality of this game when considering the quantity of those ads. Unfortunately, when you look up the in-app purchases, this is the one ADvertised feature missing from their menu. As teases go, that’s harsh.

Developers: seriously, fix this. Please! You [almost] have a perfect game.

Final Thoughts:
If the $5 ad-free option/version is made available, this would easily claim the title of best puzzle/word game… better than Wordle.
With the ads it has now, I’d rate it on par with Microsoft Works [not a typo… for fun, go look up the original release of that software].

I play this game all the time and I absolutely love it! I enjoy puzzle games a lot and this is a great addition to my digital puzzle game collection lol.
I wanted to note that there is a quote in movies #2 from Juno which deadnames Elliott Page on the end screen like once you’ve completed that level. As a trans man myself, I feel it’s important to change that. That’s my only complaint

I’d give 5 stars to this game if it weren’t for the KINDS of ads that come through when I play, and the amount of them.
Don’t misunderstand and think that I wish it were free to play and be ad-free at the same time because I know that’s not how it works.

There is an ad that plays when you launch a puzzle, there is an ad that plays at the end of a puzzle, and sometimes there is an ad that plays when you complete a letter-set. That’s too often. Especially so when the ads break and freeze up Cryptogram that I have to close and restart to continue playing.

I have a further issue when ads for apps that are rated 18+ pop up and are unskippable and have no way to report them as inappropriate. I’m pretty sure this game is rated at 12+ so having those kinds of ads makes me wary of playing it in the presence of literally anyone else without worrying that they’ll see it and think that I am into that kind of thing. I tried contacting the devs for Cryptogram to tell them directly but my in-game message to them under the ‘contact us’ tab has gone unanswered for nearly 2 weeks.

It is a great game though, challenging but not impossible puzzles and a good variety. Sort out the ads and it’s a 5-star game all the way.

I’d love to give this game 5 stars but they can’t get the bugs fixed. I really like Cryptogram. Tried three times to send a message asking for help with one of the packs — The Brothers Grimm — it got stuck after I completed the 5th puzzle. It won’t complete and move on to the next. Several of your ads get hung up and I end up not getting the 250 points at the end. Yet you just did an update that says it fixed several bugs. Please help. It’s a little frustrating. And the ads — too too many. Paid the $$ to get rid of them and there’s still too many. Please please do something. Or people, myself included, will move on to a different this app game.

This game has so much great potential. It is quickly ruined because of a couple is things. One, when you get to a certain level, you have no choice but to use the hints because the letters they give you don’t help at all. Two, in order to get a hint you have to watch these ridiculously long ads. Of course you can remove the ads for a fee but then you need to purchase hint packages. An absolute ripoff. Why can we not accrue hints as we solve puzzles? Why is it so difficult to give more letters the further you move along in the game? Yes I get it should be a little more difficult but NOT to the point where we HAVE to watch and ad or purchase hints. Deleting this game because it’s nothing but another cash grab.

This game is fun and engaging and challenging. I would give it 5 stars but decided to give three for a few reasons:
1. The ads. They are everywhere! At the start, end and middle of the puzzle. Yes, middle of the puzzle, which is annoying. This is a common complaint I see in the reviews.
—— I did purchase the ad free version, because I really enjoyed it!
2. After a few days of having Cryptogram , I’ve noticed my battery is considerably lower after using it a short time. This is a bit suspicious as there are no high graphics or fast processing(at least I assume) so it makes me wonder if there are background programs running.

I love that this game has amazing qualities such as, being able to do a this app at the end of the day, or even at the start! This game is fun for the whole entire family! My 3 month-old loves to play this game at 6 in the morning! You can give this game as a gift to a friend or a family member for Christmas! I play this game all the time! Sometimes I even skip work just to de-code the levels. When I can’t pay rent, at least I’ll have this awesome game. You can use the deep meanings and phrases in real life! I love this game,

This is a fun game that you can pickup on a whim. It’s very relaxing and I’ve found a lot of quotes I’d never heard before. They’re not always the typical ones you find all over motivational posters in dreary offices. I particularly enjoy the quotes from the daily challenge. I’m not sure if they do this all of the time but so far this year they’ve picked a city to focus on each month. That entire month has quotes from prominent people from that country. I’ve learned quite a bit.

My only complaint is the size of the numbers you read to decode the quotes. I’d like if there was an option to make them larger or maybe just bolder. It can be difficult to read if you don’t have perfect eyesight. For this reason I can’t play as much as I’d like. My eyes get tired after a while.

A great classic puzzle game! I paid the few dollars to remove ads, but the downside is, if you guess wrong more than three times you have to either watch an especially annoying ad or start the level over. Not an uncommon thing, but annoying.

My main beef though is that I’ve apparently run out of new puzzles because they’ve started repeating phrases. Also, someone mentioned in another review that the puzzles are too hard, but they would definitely be in the minority because I haven’t encountered a level yet that had less than 80% of players able to solve it on the first try. So it becomes less of a challenge and more of a chore to just fill in all the letters you’ve already figured out.

I love cryptoquip. That’s the name of the game that’s played in the newspapers. Yes, I’m old fashion I still get the newspaper. Anywho, every game is the different. For 20 some odd years, two different states, multiple cities- the problem is always something different.

Now, this game was fun. Until about level 10 when the problems began to recycle. The weirdest thing is with new levels comes new challenges where letters are locked and you unlock them to take a jab at solving the word. However, the puzzles are recycled so we always know the word.

What I do enjoy is I don’t have to erase it I get a letter wrong, thanks to technology and the creators of the game. Yet, I’m on level 44 and I feel cheated.

I basically like this game. However, I’d like it better with a few tweaks. I wish I could control how many hints it puts out - maybe start with one or two and let me ask for more if I want them instead of putting so many out automatically. And I don’t like having a long run of “themed” puzzles - like I’ve just had about six n a row about what cooking is like. I’m dreading opening the next for fear it’ll be yet another “cooking is like…” puzzle. And finally, I’d like some more obscure quotes, and/or a section for non-quote puzzles, because some are so well known that after recognizing a couple or a few words, the whole thing can just be filled in without regard to letter values, which kinda makes them not very puzzling.

Ok so I really enjoy playing this game for the most part but it has some glaring flaws that ruin the experience for me. First of all, it absolutely DESTROYS my battery like nothing I’ve ever seen. I can play any other game on my phone off and on all day without issue, but with this game suddenly I’m in low power mode after only a couple rounds. (When it was fully charged all of 2 hours ago). I wish I would’ve played it more before I paid the 5 bucks to remove ads but that’s my bad. Speaking of the 5 bucks to remove ads, that’s a laugh in itself considering you still have to watch 3 minute videos every time you need a hint or need to revive. Which by the way, of all the “mistakes” I’ve made probably 90% of them are actually either the game lagging or clumsy thumbs. So you get 3 chances to clumsily select the wrong letter per round then you get to watch a 3 minute (interactive) video ad each time after that. I understand how mobile games earn their creators money, but this particular setup feels really greedy to me.

This game concept itself is GREAT! It keeps you entertained and tuned in, but there are so many negatives that I deleted the game after two days.
-Way too many ADS!!! I understand you have to live but there are so many ads in this game that not only have I deleted the game, I also refused to download or purchase from any of the games or merchants from the ads that I’ve seen. It’s actually very counterproductive. There’s an ad to start the game, to end the game, as breaks when you take a long time on a longer puzzle, add to even go to a new screen within the game (checking event status, coin buying screen, etc)
-After reading other reviews, I’m glad I didn’t pay for the ad free version because there STILL seems to be an overload of ads.
-If you play the game too long, the game will start to lag tremendously and it overheats your phone. Eventually, you have to force close the game and wait to reopen it after your phone cools down.
-It’s built to have the user paying. It’s inevitable that you will have to pay for something, REGARDLESS of the excessive ads.

It could be an amazing game and it was great for two days but you’ll only be playing the game 50% of the time that you’re on Cryptogram . As much as I hate Royal Match ads, at least they don’t have ads in the game.

I love this game, I play it every night before i sleep. The only problem is i can’t really buy more packs to do because I don’t have enough coins. I could watch an ad for 250, however considering the amount of coins i need at this point are 5000+, its not ideal. I could spend real money on the coins but I do not want to. This game is amazing and the new updates like having different challenges for your levels is great. You could win coins among other things from the special events. But its not guaranteed what you will receive. This is the only flaw and I’m not the only one who is having this trouble. When you play a game from a pack and finish a level you get a choice to receive 50 coins and move on or watch an ad and get 250, I always tried getting 250 when I could. However you don't receive coins from daily challenges or the regular challenges, it’s not an ideal thing but definitely not a hater this game is nearly perfect and I would love to see it in a dark mode edition of some kind for those with sensitive eyes as well as the coin problem, where there is a way to guaranteed way to earn coins with no extra cost of an ad or money.

A good game, a bit of a challenge. But there’s one huge overarching problem of poor interface design. The game is FULL of white space, making the digits under the letters too small.
Developers, do you intentionally want to prohibit a portion of you audience? Seniors would never see the tiny digits under the words! As doctors have started suggesting seniors play puzzle and word games to keep their minds sharp, a game like this would be ideal.
There’s plenty of room to make the digits larger— TONS of unused empty space.
If developers are wondering why people download this game, try it and delete it, this is why—- WE CANT SEE THE DIGITS! Not even with reading glasses. Phones are already small screens and when you have a 4 point font you can forget about it. Many people start getting reading glasses in their forties. That’s a lot of people you don’t want to be able to play your game. Fix it, make the digits bigger, and I’d be back.

I’ve been wanting to play a this app game for a while and was not disappointed in this one, at least not completely. The puzzles are great, a nice mix of challenging and fun. The downside to Cryptogram is the amount of ads. I know for F2P games they require ads to help make revenue, however there seems to be an excessive amount, so much so that it’s a little off putting. Another issue with Cryptogram is how hot my phone gets while using it. It’s almost to the point I can’t hold the phone. I’ve never had an app make my phone run this hot. Whatever it is that makes the phone run hot it is probably tied to the excessive battery drain. If the devs can address these few issues, I feel they’d have a fantastic app.

So I have played quite a few “free” games on my phone and have dealt with a reasonable amount of ads. This game though…… it’s completely unplayable due to the amount of ads that spring up. Even mid-puzzle an ad will just appear out of no where. You start a puzzle, there’s an ad, mid puzzle there’s an ad and maybe more than one depending on the amount of time it takes you to solve the problem. Any time you change the screen in Cryptogram there is an ad. The ads aren’t small ads either. Some are 30-45 seconds and others are a minute and a half long! I got so frustrated with all the ads that I just uninstalled the game completely. I will find another puzzle game that won’t throw a lifetime amount of ads at you in 15 minutes.

I’ve done all the levels I wanna do, (numbers & colorful puzzles), now I’m bored. I hate the weird symbols levels. Couple months in and I’m done. Why aren’t there new puzzles added? The colorful symbols and music notes are the best, but nothing new has been uploaded making for a boring game. They changed the game recently, so I had to watch a lot of videos to get coins to even get new levels, cause spending $10 on a level I can beat in a day is ridiculous. There’s not a big enough pay out when there’s events. Not enough happening, so now I have to give up and play something else. It was fun while it lasted.
