Probably the worst app I’ve ever tried.

Opened up ColorIdentifier with my daughter to find out what color we created with two paints. First ad that popped up was for a dating app and showed short videos of seductive women.

I’m fine with ads on the free version of an app, but that felt way off for a color identification app.

Seemed to just sort through random colors. I was trying to find the HEX for a grey color and it said it was bright green, pink, aquamarine, deep blue, red, and many other seemingly random colors that changed every time I slightly moved the pin.
Tried it on a red color too and it said it’s light green, navy blue, screamin green, Kelly green, and neon green.
I’m not colorblind, I’ve tested myself on it for fun, ColorIdentifier just doesn’t work

It doesn’t automatically identify colors it completely doesn’t work

How is ColorIdentifier a 4.7. The colors are completely wrong, it can’t differentiate between shadows and light. Plus the price is way to expensive and it tries to confuse you into making a purchase. Extremely predatory app. Deleted.

Sees everything wrong. White as grey. Blue as silver. Green as grey/silver.

Doesn’t follow the color on screen. Just pops up a random number/color every time you move the screen. Ranging from blue to black to white to red for the same spot

App’s screenshots SPECIFICALLY shows Pantone swatch data along with the usual RGB/CMYK/Hex data. But download app, agree to the subscription, and not only does it bug you with a pop up “How can we make this better?” before you’ve been allowed to even DO anything, but once you get the image or snapshot up to scan for colors, it gives you the usual data…but NO PANTONE ANYWHERE and no way that I can find anywhere to get that info. DON’T SHOW SOMETHING IN THE PREVIEW SCREENSHOTS THAT YOUR APP DOESN’T ACTUALLY OFFER. Just for that alone, one star and I immediately deleted app/canceled before I could get charged for this waste of time.

YOU HAVE TO PAY 20 DOLLARS A YEAR TO EVEN USE ColorIdentifier ! It doesn’t even have that many features when you pay for it. And it just tells you the number of the color you’re looking at which is ultimately useless as ColorIdentifier doesn’t tell you what color it even is! And the camera is way off. So either make the features free or take down ColorIdentifier all together.

Delete ColorIdentifier

ColorIdentifier is truly amazing as to how accurate it can be. I’m really glad I found it and I look forward to using it when I paint the house. Great work thanks again.

Great app, depends on the lighting on the subject but not enough to affect consistent results.

As a red/green colorblind individual I have absolutely no idea if ColorIdentifier works but it appears as though it does.🥴
