Long way to go

Liquipedia still lists turbo and chrome as active on NRG roster. This doesn’t even like up with the website info. It also shows me rocket league Ireland matches? I don’t even know what that is let alone care about it. It should let me choose RLCS only. I’ll continue to use the website. This was a cool idea though, just not well implemented for my esport of choice. It may be better for league, dota, or CS, none of which I follow.

Best eSport site - worst app design ever seen

Wasted spaces, useless transition pages. Zero understand of user experience and human interface. You have the best cross table on the web, it’s easy to understand and follow, instead you opt for the useless, story-alike, space wasting score board. How do people check on the teams that they’re interested in? Tap slowly so they don’t miss it? There’re problem with the bracket view - why spend a whole page just to list [Bracket A- Bracket B], what if users want to view both so they can cross checking. It’s the very opposite of intuitive and minimalist design. Let user’s focus dictates what they want to see, and minimize the information shown on each bracket so it’s not overwhelming instead of stacking navigation view after navigation view. Liquipedia belong in the trash can for how useless it is. Please gives this app Liquipedia it deserves <3.

Most unintuitive UI imaginable

How is it that the website this is based off of is better formatted than the actual app. Liquipedia is garbage. Hard to find anything you’re actually looking for. Nobody asked for “stories” to display results of matches. You have a gigantic ad banner that takes up majority of the screen real estate as well. Just add the website to your Home Screen and save yourself the headache

We don’t want spoilers!

Liquipedia functions well, but there’s not an option to turn off spoilers. When I want the option to see what time my favorite team is playing, I don’t want to see the results of previous games. I want to be able to enjoy the thrill of watching a game and not knowing what the outcome will be.

I used Liquipedia a few months ago, deleted it the same day. Tried again yesterday hoping they’d fix it by now, but they haven’t, so that’s why I’m leaving a review. Hopefully the devs can change this, cuz I’d like to use the this app app as much as I use the website.

Just Use The Website

On team pages or player pages, it seems like a ton of information is not being shown. I don't wanna miss info that I could see on the website.

Ads make Liquipedia feel trashy.

When searching, it searches over every game. I only care about about Rocket League. I don't wanna see CSGO results when I'm trying to search for a team.

Devs, Liquipedia looks pretty but the functionality isn't there. If you fix these issues, I would definitely use it.

App requires too many clicks to view info

I think Liquipedia still needs some work - I think this could be useful if you follow multiple esports but single tournament view is not good for finding details about the tournament like participating players or bracket format. Everything is hidden under multiple menu clicks and half the time there are ‘TBD’ rows followed by the actual results? I like how the web view has most of the important info on one scrollable page, while Liquipedia feels like jumping from menu to menu and hoping you land on what you were looking for. If you are looking for a replacement for the website in app form, I would not recommend Liquipedia.

Easy to read, webpage is more accessible and accurate still

(Valorant focused)
As the title says, Liquipedia is quite simple and straight forward to navigate. My primary complaint is that the events shown on this app’s webpage (including VCT Ascension and other VCT tournaments) don’t show up on Liquipedia for some reason. Some events will have titles but no page. I assume these are slowly being updated as it’s nice to go back and look at old tournaments and placements to track team progress and see brackets. Prize pools are also incorrect among other things for some events that are accurate on the webpage version.

Another slight nitpick but I’ve noticed that my and some other coach/player pages have incorrect birthdays by a day when the webpage profiles are fully accurate showing that there is some sort of disconnect in the transferring of information. Once again many of the previously played or participated in tournaments for different players or teams, aren’t showing on Liquipedia when they do show on the webpage.

TLDR; Liquipedia has significant potential for purely checking recent match scores, but if you want any of the other features this app offers or to see ALL current tournaments, I would say it’s still easier and quicker to use the this app webpage for now.

Doesn’t have Overwatch

It doesn’t support Overwatch content even though it advertises on the Overwatch this app website

OWL not included

As Liquipedia is still relatively new, I’m sure this is something that’ll be added later, but for some odd reason it doesn’t include OW esports. OW is the only esport that I follow so bit odd.

Hope it improves

Currently Liquipedia is quite terrible. Lacks information and UI to find relevant tournaments. Advertisement covers second half of Liquipedia . Please improve and I will use.

Glad it’s here but I can’t use it

I’m so glad there is an app for this app finally, but it is so unusable. The layout is so confusing and information has to be worked for. The home page gives me so much useless information and events that aren’t important to most people. Going to the website on my phone is still so much easier to navigate and get quick information from. Honestly I would have been so happy if Liquipedia was formatted exactly like the website.

Disappointing layout and hard to use, hopeful that they will make it easier to use and more simple.

Good and useful, can’t remove ads

I’m begging y’all to let me throw some money at you to make the ads go away

Solid but missing some features

I use Liquipedia to follow R6 and while I like the interface it would be really helpful to see which map the matches are taking place on as well as the side statistics. Also would love to have the option to follow Smash Bros on Liquipedia as well

Early MVP

Liquipedia seems like an early MVP and suprisignly very distant from the web interface. I guess most of us are used to navigate the web interface and reach all the data we need/want and Liquipedia is now a shock where there was obviously a design decision made to go into a different direction (non wiki style) but frankly I follow Dota 2 most of the time and it’s frustrating to not see team rosters. Trying to generelize the data model for all games is hard. I wish you’d rather focus on game by game experience in-app before pushing an update.

Thank you for the much needed app and hard work that has gone in to it. I hope you can iron out the wrinkels.

Great app but their is no Apex Legends

I downloaded Liquipedia bc I’m strictly playing apex legends. :( it’s ok I’ll just use the site

Willing to pay extra for an ad-free version

Bout time we have an app for this app. UI looks decent yet I still prefer the looks on the website. Maybe give us more customization options? Also an in-app wiki editor perhaps?

Good and useful, can’t remove ads

I’m begging y’all to let me throw some money at you to make the ads go away

LOVE the web version…not the app

I really do wish Liquipedia were half as good as the website. And, truly I’m trying to be patient with the developers as they work on it more. But man, things are glitchy and clunky. I really wish coaches would be added to team rosters. That’s a simple ask, yeah? I also cannot edit anything on my profile. Overall, the basic function of Liquipedia is ok. I do get notifications of game and scores. I like being able to make favorites for teams and even players. Long way to go, though. Oh, and I am paying the yearly sub because I want to support the dev team and their improvements.

2 recommendations

Liquipedia is nice to have however it would even be better to add Fortnite as a game you can keep up with. I honestly do not care about any of the games that are listed. Personally however on your website you can search Fortnite tournaments the results search up the players from fortnite Etc. Having that on Liquipedia would be nice. Also having Call of duty or Call of duty league as one of the games you can keep up with would be nice it’s very popular and many people keep up with it. Those are the only 2 things I recommend other than that it’s a great app. Very well informed updates are good!

Glad it’s now on an app

it’s good that now i can see all the info on an app but the only thing i can say is that i feel that it could definitely be more organized whenever we’re looking for or at specific tournaments. overall it’s good

Website is still better

Was exited to see Liquipedia was released but unfortunately it’s not a great experience. Much more difficult to navigate and information is weirdly laid out and presented for groups/swiss/standings. I’ll continue to use the mobile site which is still amazing.

Has potential

Clicking the “Sign in” button does nothing and I’m assuming not being signed in is why following sports and tournaments and get notifications on matches doesn’t work. Notifications is the only reason I’d like to use Liquipedia over the website and with this feature unavailable to me, I find myself using the website exclusively over Liquipedia .

Needs a bit more work

Tournament names are cut off and hard to read. Too many different menus to click through to see the results of different stages. I understand devs need to eat, but putting in ads and giving no option to purchase Liquipedia to remove ads is not great (and no please don’t do the scummy monthly sub model either). With the exception of the ads, I’m sure Liquipedia will be great in a few more iterations. But for now the mobile website is far superior.

Easy to use but…

I downloaded Liquipedia for RLCS. As Liquipedia is very easy to use, it’s missing a lot of information that’s on the website. Main complaint is there is nothing for standings. Feel like Liquipedia would be good for live updates on your favorite team, but not for keeping track of the whole tournament or how the season is going. Hopefully they update and continue to improve Liquipedia … but for now I will be sticking to the amazing website they have put together.

Ads already?

Edited since the developer responded and is reading feedback and improving Liquipedia .

Would prefer less intrusive ads or a one-time fee to remove them (would pay $20).

Also, wish there was an option not to show scores on recent matches so I can enjoy watching the replays without spoilers!

Other than ad placement it is good and expect it to get better

I use it for RLCS and Val and super handy to use on the go compared to the mobile website, desktop is still best but for a mobile interface this is the best of the other options

Great app, but still prefer the websites as of now.

I keep up with a lot of esports, mainly RL, VAL, and LoL. As cool as it is to follow the results of a specific team you like, Liquipedia is severely missing things like Champion/Agent selections for map, map results, overtime length, game scores, etc. Once all of those are added, I will definitely use this over my multiple chrome tabs for different leagues I am keeping up with. Great start though!

Best in the Business Right Now

I love the introduction to Liquipedia being able to choose your favorite games, teams and players to follow and scrolling through match results like instagram stories works surprisingly well. My one question is when is apex legends tracking coming to Liquipedia ? Would have been an instant 5 stars with Apex, but I’m happy I have R6 and CS still

My thoughts on the app

First of all sorry for my bad English because it’s not my main language. I usually don’t write reviews but I thought I really have to send a message for all the people who are working on Liquipedia. I want to tell you guys to keep up the good work and please keep updating and making Liquipedia better and better because it has so much potential and future. I fully support you guys and I do see a bright future for Liquipedia. Of course there are lots of bugs and cons that I hope you guys fix them in the future and I know you will. Keep updating Liquipedia and keep up the good work my friends 🧡.

THE Esports Wiki in your pocket

I prefer Liquipedia to the mobile version of the website when I want to keep up with the scores of an event that is live.

The core functionality of Liquipedia is solid and load times are great. Some other reviewers are correct in pointing out that Liquipedia could use some improvement or that it feels unfinished.

Lucky for us, the dev team is responsive and appears to be working around the clock to push updates. Everything I reported in beta has been taken care of. At this rate I think Liquipedia will be in a place where most users are happy with it by the end of 2022.

Amazing

From an RL fan, I can keep track of the multiple matches (ex. The Draw, RLCS, Johnnyboi) in a very easy way.

Helpful to follow games!

The notifications are amazing to know when teams I like go live! Excited to keep exploring and using Liquipedia .

Finally!!!!

I just downloaded it, can’t tell you guys how much I hated having to open the browser on my phone to look for results! I know your app is still a work in progress but I’m so happy that finally you made the jump! As a SW developer I understand the hesitation! My 5stars go for the balls of making Liquipedia !
I love Liquidpedia!

First

First ever review let’s go

Automatic 5 stars

They finally have an app!!!

Honestly Amazing

I know Liquipedia just came out but Liquipedia is beyond great for esports information. I’m into sports apps in general to keep up to date with things and I personally follow Rocket League just as much as I follow NFL. Liquipedia is so informative and simultaneously user-friendly. A future idea I think would be cool is fantasy rocket league (similar to nfl fantasy football) and Liquipedia has all the tools for it!!

Authority on Esports

The best esports source on the internet finally has an app!

Perfect for following specific teams or individual events for any esport. I only encountered one bug while using it and the dev team responded to my issue quickly and had a fix out in a few days.

I use this app all the time on my computer and now all the time on my phone.
