When I first scanned my face back in NBA 2K18, it was perfect. Since then, every year it seems to diminish in quality somehow. Usually I can just redo the face scan and eventually I’ll be met with a perfect render of my face. 2K23? Not at all. I’ve tried dozens of different lightings, angles, it doesn’t matter what I do, my eyes are scrunched in, the nose is nowhere near what mine looks like, and the high cheek bones and lack of a chin makes it look so cartoonish and not like me at all. It always renders this exact same weird face that doesn’t look anywhere close to what I look like. Please fix this so we can enjoy MyCareer. FaceScan done with an iOS device btw.

For the past few years face scan has been completely inaccurate giving a face that doesn’t even resemble me and a skin tone that is far from mine as well. I suspect that 2K doesn’t care about this feature of the game anymore given it hasn’t been even close to reality in some time. Very disappointing. I would have given this a zero star rating if that was an option.

MyNBA2K23 is horrible, trying to send a new password to my email and it does nothing. Click it, click it, click it and nothing, based on the reviews doesn’t look like I’m missing anything. If it’s not broke, don’t change it, should of left it the same. I finally remembered my password, went thru the whole process and it looks nothing like me. I used a 4 white light background shining on my face and it still looks nothing like me, not even a little close. Why have it if it doesn’t work because it used too, better at least. AKA I’m white skined, not the planet of Apes person you created from my face.

This…app…IS…a MASSIVE WASTE OF TIME!!! Pure and completely utter garbage!!! Nothing about the face scan works. Did it no less than fifteen times and not one of the scans worked. Each one even worse than the last and the original first scan I did looked like a dog’s behind! It’ll look nothing like the actual player. Last time MyNBA2K23 worked was with 2K22 and that one was not the best either but at least your player(MP) looks like a human and not some ancient alien creature that got beaten with an ugly stick!! Save your space and time and please for the love of GOD for your sanity, ignore and bypass the 2K app!! Just don’t download it!

I haven’t played NBA2K since 2K19…How do I have a new iPhone Pro Max, a PS5, it’s 2023 yet my face scan was 100x better back on 19…I can’t believe y’all have not improved y'all face tech at all…

Like I said, I haven’t played since 2k19…Was seriously considering purchasing 2K24…They God I received 2K23 for free and tried out the face scan and uh uh nah…I will definitely NOT be purchasing 2K24…No excuse for 2KSports to make all the money y’all do off of VC alone over the past years to still have trash face scan in 2023

I’ve tried many times to get this face scan to work. With varying lighting and angles, the result being a squished face alien pretty much every time. I’d like to add I’ve had 0 issues with this feature in past two iterations of the game, they were spot on. This year is different. MyNBA2K23 is also glitchy and still can’t retain your log in information. Good to see at least you guys are talking about it here, 2k certainly won’t. Very disappointing.

I’ve been scanning my face into 2k since 2k18 so I would definitely say I got the hang of it by now. First it was bad enough that I couldn’t log in the sever when MyNBA2K23 first came out. Now that is fixed I still can’t scan my face. MyNBA2K23 doesn’t detect my face unless I constantly close & open MyNBA2K23 when scanning. 2K y’all really need to get it together because this is ridiculous. I really wouldn’t even give it 1 star cause if it’s not one thing it’s the other

I spent over an hour trying to scan my face holding my phone up to my face and turning my head side to side like 30+ times like an idiot while wasting so much time accomplishing nothing. It never worked at all a single time. I tried different internet, restarting my phone, restarting the console, deleting MyNBA2K23 and reinstalling, nothing worked do not waste your time like I did you will accomplish nothing and be frustrated like me.

I’m sorry 2k but MyNBA2K23 gotta be fixed ! I’m trying to get a face scan but when I do my account on my play station it sais error . Me personally never had a problem with MyNBA2K23 . 20 , 21, 22 were all good but I do not know what happened to this years app . Thank you 2k for all of your apps . I love 2k on my PlayStation . But MyNBA2K23 should be fixed immediately . Thank you for your time !

This piece of dog won’t even let me sign in. This is probably the most dog water piece of crap app i’ve ever seen and gotten in my life. It’s literally trash don’t waste your time getting MyNBA2K23. The graphics are even garbage. It has worse graphics than the original Nintendo. Not to mention the face scan doesn’t work and it make u look like the mole off of slugterra. Just a horrible app don’t get it.

I’ve tried to do a face scan more than 10xs and it never works. 2k knows it doesn’t work and they’ve done nothing to fix it. This is a feature that separates 2k from other games, since it doesn’t work for ps4 it makes the game less appealing. People really love seeing there real face and now everyone looks exactly the same. This needs to be fixed asap

You might as well settle for a default face for mycareer. I’ve attempted to scan my face a dozen times+ (with the iPhone 13 Pro) and none of them came close to looking like me. The faces appears to be squished in and elongated every time. Having my face on my player every year is the one of the main things that make me excited for mycareer. This issue makes me not even want to play it.

MyNBA2K23 doesn’t work for current gen at all. It just makes a squished alien head with 1% accuracy to the face scan you make on MyNBA2K23 . Also it failed to download the scan data on your current gen console, after 10 mins of waiting for the scan to be put on my myplayer. All 2k had to do was just keep the same stuff on app from last year, but this year it doesn’t work anymore. They tweaked something for no reason and now you can do a facescan in NBA2K23 anymore. Pretty pathetic for a multi-millionaire company. Don’t even bother to download this broken garbage of an app. I also had zero issues with the facescan app for the last decade so I don’t understand why MyNBA2K23 is sucking now all a sudden. You had one job 2k. Fix your broken app if you care about your community.

MyNBA2K23 is so bad I cried when I tried to scan my face it doesn’t work like when I try to scan my face it wouldn’t even pick it up the lighting. You need so much you’ll be blind because my face was not picked up. Don’t download this it’s a waste of time and a waste of sanity and I’m trust me. You will cry. It’s so horrible. Don’t download it like if you download it you could be doing other stuff but you’re wasting your time using MyNBA2K23 like 2K update this or make 2K 24th and make MyNBA2K23 for 2K 24. OK you’re wasting peoples time lower the price on 2K 24 because of what you did. I hate you guys. And 2K is not good anymore

I play this game every year and love that you can use face scan. But unfortunately, year after year it’s never ready at launch. Players are forced to begin a MyCareer using the default skins. With this new app I now am unable to sign in to my account. Attempting to delete and redownload to see if that will make any difference. How hard is it to do the same thing each year and still be late or get it wrong? 2K can do better. Especially for returning diehards like myself.

I can’t even scan my face in the game (which is the only thing you can do on MyNBA2K23 at the moment). Can’t even sign in to my PlayStation account to use this feature. 2k needs to fix this cause this is a yearly thing!! 🤬😡

In typical 2k fashion, they didn’t even have their companion app released on time for their game release of 2k23. And then they finally release MyNBA2K23 , but you cannot sign in. It encounters a “problem” and you are not even able to sign in.

Maybe one day 2k will have a smooth release of a game with all their ducks in a line. But until that day, we are stuck with this…

MyNBA2K23 is garbage. Every year there are issues with being able to log in and use the face scan feature. How have the people at 2K (EA Sports) not figured this out yet?? Unfortunately, this is our only means of utilizing the face scan feature. Don’t count on doing that easily.

Every year you know you’re gonna drop MyNBA2K23 and every year it’s behind the cycle of the game release, full of bugs or not functional for days. It’s a companion app so it’s supposed accompany the game. No one is even addressing the fact you can’t even connect your 2K account via the 2K app! This is not acceptable. Fix your product!

Every time I try to login onto MyNBA2K23 into my playstation account it goes through and then says that an error has occurred...idk what the actual problem is because I have a save but it just wont let me log in to do my face scan.. pls fix

Garbage, u announce a fix so PS users can use it but it’s been a issue since u launched MyNBA2K23 , which allowed XBOX n other users to actually redeem the VC codes faster since typing is much easier than on Console. Fix this within a day please U charge up to 150 dollars for a game but can’t even fix a app?

Doesn’t work. I keep getting failed login message. My account it linked properly, I triple checked that. Very disappointing when you’ve been waiting for this to come out forever only to be slapped in the face when it doesn’t work!

I can not log in to my platform (Xbox) I’m seeing everyone is having this issue and it needs to be fixed asap I don’t even wanna play the game if I can’t use my face honestly feels like a waste of money. Hopefully I can get a refund if this isn’t fix

Doesn’t even let you log in. It just says failed every time. Then we can’t win any of the free vc because it doesn’t work. They need to fix things like this before doing these type of the events.

You can’t do a face scan on MyNBA2K23 . It keeps showing error messages. Why would you tell everyone the facescan is available at once if you know your severs been trash since the game started.

MyNBA2K23 won’t let me login with my PSN account considering I had to Google MyNBA2K23 bc the only thing that shows up in MyNBA2K23 Store is the 2022 version. Downloaded it and it still won’t work. Talk about disappointment on season 1.

I downloaded it as soon as I heard that there was a face scan feature and I signed in to my Nintendo account but when it scanned it either looked nothing like me or it wouldn’t even scan so I honestly am pretty disappointed

SMH idk who face they are putting on my player but it’s not mine, I’ve tried to scan my face over 20xs no exaggeration with different lighting to get MY FACE to scan but some reason it looks NOTHING like not even a tad bit. I didn’t have this issue with the 2k22 app

Idk what y’all talking about, This is the best face scan I’ve done yet. Granted I am on next gen. But I’m very satisfied. My player looks exactly like me. I no longer feel weird putting clothes on a man who looks nothing like me

This is hands down the best App on the Playstore to turn yourself into a monster. There’s plenty of other also free applications that can do this, but if you like ball and spooky season use MyNBA2K23. Only thing that is missing is monster mash animations in game to really give it the edge, or every game should be the Halloween game for the added vibes.

Best game ever! Join it it’s gonna be amazing it’s so fun! You can experience real nba life from all through out ancient nba history from the 1940s to the 2000s this game changes your life it changes you and your actions and personality you will not believe me now but when you do that’s when the fun starts because if there’s anything that is making you depressed or mad this is the game for you and it’s so popular it’s new and I know your going to like it get ready everybody this is gonna be a new experience for you a friend or a family member!

idk why there is so much hate, this is the best the head scan has worked in years (for me at least).
if you come out looking like a “monster” as the other reviews say, then try going outside when its not too sunny out but theres good lighting. The sun will make your face a lot more red so make sure it aint too sunny. Hope this helps someone.

I love MyNBA2K23 because I have nba 2k23, but I have one concern. I think there might be a bug in the game as of right now. Every time I log in, it says “Fail to log in to 2K sports”. I was wondering if the 2K support could fix this bug because I’m dying to make a face scan and add it to my mycareer player. Hope you saw this.
