NBC Sports Bay Area CA Reviews

The MyTeams app used to be pretty solid, but this new version is straight trash. It’s hard to navigate and is arranged chaotically. I can no longer watch games because whatever tech failure you put in charge made it impossible to find or use a streaming function.

Fix it or burn it to the ground.

NBCSportsBayAreaCA is horrible. I downloaded it because it was new, but the old app was better. For example, favorites. I want my favorite teams. I don’t want or care to hear about the other teams. It’s not user friendly. It took me a few just to find the settings on NBCSportsBayAreaCA . I get that’s you’re trying to include all the teams, but it’s counterintuitive to force non fans to learn about the other teams if they don’t like them. NBCSportsBayAreaCA needs an update fast, or you will lose a lot of unhappy fans. The Bay Area fan base is passionate about their teams. Let us enjoy the teams we want to follow.

What a downgrade from the previous app. Now every interview is broken into 45-60
second segments with each labeled as a separate “story”. And you have to watch at least a
30 second ad between each segment. C’mon. Ridiculous. Way to ruin a perfectly good app.
Apparently NBC is now brining on more ad revenue. While spoon-feeding tiny sound bites and forcing ads down our throats. No thanks. And, there is very little useful factual information on games, schedules, etc….Or if there is? It’s buried someplace and I haven’t found it. The way it’s going they probably make you watch an ad to see a schedule. Wretched.

Why did you guys change MyTeams into 4 different regional apps? NBCSportsBayAreaCA is horrible. User interface on the original was far superior. What happened to favorite teams? Reading articles now is also a miserable experience full of ads. Man, you guys had a good thing going and as always had to go and ruin it with updates.

Unless you like watching ads for every single thing you click on, avoid NBCSportsBayAreaCA like the plague. Want to read something? There’s an ad. Video? More ads. And these are the worst kind: no timing, no indication when content might load, just wait and watch.

What’s impressive was the last version was bad but not this bad. And don’t believe the apologies! They don’t care about viewers in the least.

How can you delete push alerts on some teams? Can you delete some teams completely. If I can’t I will delete NBCSportsBayAreaCA . Old version was much better.

Please have someone update the Roku app for the strange echoing in the audio (same broadcast doesn’t echo when I watch on regular TV or MLB At Bat app). But more importantly, NBCSportsBayAreaCA crashes all the time!!! There’s times where I flat out can’t even watch my team play. It’s ridiculous

The previous app worked very well and it didn’t load the same videos at every article and now later seems like there are less written articles and more videos that take forever to load. I miss the previous app. I think I’m done with this one!

So the teams I actually want to know when there games about to start or updates on the games they played etc…don’t pop up on my phone and there is no option to select the teams who’s data you want to track to get their info to pop up. The only teams info that keeps popping up is the A’s and Sacramento kings and I don’t care for either of those teams . My teams was a better app. Hopefully you guys will fix this issue

The old “My Teams” app was much better allowing users to customize and follow only the Bay Area teams you want not all Bay Area teams. I don’t review apps but NBCSportsBayAreaCA is so incredibly bad it motivated me to say something. Please fix it or I’ll be deleting it. Thank you.

Too many ads. Impossible to navigate around them. I deleted NBCSportsBayAreaCA .

Can’t find stats on game(scoring details by inning); player stats each game… give me the old app!!!

Schedules page doesn’t work at all. Ugh!

Big step backward from the previous version.

Just meant to show more ads. The new format makes it hard to read the actual articles. Such a shame…

NBCSportsBayAreaCA is trash. I select teams I want and I still get news for teams I deselected. Ads are another way to kill an App. Bring back what we previously had.

They forced us into a new app that doesn’t actually allow me to have a home page for each team and I have to see stupid stories from teams I don’t follow!

I don’t like the new app!!! I only want news about my favorite teams not all the others. App is not very user friendly. Please give us/me our old app back!!

Can’t get the audio to click on in a video, can’t get it to cancel out of an article and return to home….bring back My Teams! Why would they change to an app with a 1.7 rating?

The other app would open to a team I saved now it opens to all the teams regardless of what’s saved. Swipe across a full screen was so much nicer. Zero stars if it would let me.

Over designed without usability in mind

For days I could find out schedules for the Giants. Just a drop down.

I deleted NBCSportsBayAreaCA .

Ok I gave it another try.

Now I have to choose the month and scroll.
Just give me a quick look at the latest score and when the next game is.

I’m gonna delete it again. The previous version at least was intuitive.

If ai could give this negative stars I’d be glad to.

For example, if you click on schedule do you really want to see the schedule at the beginning of the season? No! But that’s the default. You want to see today’s or this week’s or forthcoming games.

The old app allowed me to follow out of town teams I was interested in and ignore those I wasn’t. There appears to be no way to filter out the Giants or follow the Cubs or Red Sox.

If that wasn’t bad enough I now get the schlockfest of financial advisor and toenail fungus remedies with each article.

Absolutely lacking in SJ Sharks coverage. Since the draft, the Sharks have been very active and you haven’t had any coverage. It’s time to let Sheng Peng go and find someone to cover the SJ Sharks. Also, allow users to filter out what they don’t care about.

I want my local app to give me local facts. Like the lineup for today, the batting averages, era for my team and the opponent, how our and their pitchers have performed over their last three starts. NBCSportsBayAreaCA still hasn’t mentioned that we signed UDFA Javon Johnson. What it does provide is the entire 162 game schedule with one detail. The final score. And the ads work perfect, but I have clicked on headlines that take me to completely different stories. Maybe improvements will be made.

I don’t like this new app. For one it doesn’t include the ability to select and view only your favorite teams. You can customize alerts but the feed is still cluttered with teams that I don’t follow. The old format was perfect for just what I wanted to see. Please return “Favorites” or I will delete NBCSportsBayAreaCA .

Furthermore: Can you believe that for a tie game it just tells you that it’s “in progress”? The old app told you the inning, the outs, the count, and the bass runners, if any.

This used to be the best sports app around. You could watch Bay Area sports, read easy to navigate articles, and no horrible ads popping up. I’m not sure what the developers were thinking! This seems like a third rate app now with way too many ads going on. I guess they thinking they would make more money, but with no one going on NBCSportsBayAreaCA now, I’m not sure how that’s gonna have.
I guess I’m moving onto Bleacher Report now, thanks for ruining the best app around.

Despite the hype, this is no big improvement unless you’re dying to see ads pop up EVERY time you open a story. So, now you have to close the pop-up window to continue reading. About the 20th time, you’re ready to delete NBCSportsBayAreaCA . They’ve packed all the teams in one app so you have to select your team (i.e. Kings) if you don’t care that the Giants got drubbed 7-2.

It still has the same high-school-level writers (with the exception of Dierberger, who’s decent) and they don’t break any new ground. They just pimp the team. Not a bad gig for free press creds.

If you want some basic info about your team, give this a try, but don’t count on it being your go-to app for your favorite Cali team.

NBCSportsBayAreaCA that this one replaces is way more user friendly than this one. Bring back the original format.

“Upgraded” from the old app and every article I opened had an auto-play video that interrupted whatever media (music, podcast, etc.) I was already playing.

Please allow users to personalize their stream like the My Teams app did. I just want the content for “my teams” that I follow. The content is great. This one tweak will make the new app a home run for me!

This is a re-write from my original post. I’ve had NBCSportsBayAreaCA for a month now. It’s become my go-to app for the latest news updates on the 49er’s and the Golden State Warriors. NBCSportsBayAreaCA is now better than the original app which I had for many years. Thank you for listening to your users.
