I was disappointed when my favorite forum dropped Tapatalk and went to Fora, as I’m a creature of habit and I fear and despise change. But I tried to make the move to Fora. I got it to work for a couple days, then it would not allow me to sign in to the one forum I really needed ForaCommunities to access. I spent quite some time figuring out hope to contact customer support for ForaCommunities as it’s not listed anywhere on ForaCommunities and I had to google it and go through their website. They were unable to help me in any kind reasonable time frame, so I’ve now deleted ForaCommunities and I’ll just use the web based system for my forums. I wish I could get paid for not doing my job, but I have to be good at what I do to keep my job. Go figure.

First off, the sign in/login process was insane. The email link does not work, comes up with a error about the magic link stating the developer needs to change something so google is hoping the dev tries their own app to see if its working. Theres a option to copy and paste the link but guess what!? The keyboard covers the area to type in so you cant tap to paste the link, you are left with the option to type in a extremely long link.
I had to do a time consuming work around were I created a shortcut of the link to paste in.

So I got into ForaCommunities and into my forum, now besides it feeling like a web app where the loading times are extreme and sometimes it just opens up a blank page or redirects to a generic error page it kinda works. You can reply to posts, like, and comment. Then I went to create my own post.... absolutely no option to do so. Having the forum your in open on safari is way more convenient. Save your time.

It’s not really an app per se, it’s more of web browser that only goes to their sites, it’s pretty buggy, and although the interface is basically just a browser, the posting options are different.

Uninstalling because it freezes often and video ads keep popping up… extremely annoying (the ads more than the freezing)

What’s the point of ForaCommunities? The only thing that works is the splash screen asking me to turn on notifications every time I open ForaCommunities . But I can’t browse forums as none of the buttons work. Isn’t that the whole purpose of this?

The email that I get to log in I can’t use. The goto fora button open ForaCommunities and never logs in and the link that I copy I can’t paste in the field in app because the keyboard pops up covering the paste location.

Doesn’t anyone ever test these things before deploying them?

I’d you have different email addresses for different web forums, ForaCommunities doesn’t allow you log in to those other forums. Makes ForaCommunities useless for me

Complete unadulterated garbage. Just nonsense. I have profiles on two different forums using different email addresses and can't login to both at the same time. Even after I changed the login on one of them, my "fora" profile can't be deleted. There is no support. No instructions. No way no how to match up two profiles. Also, the password field is blocked by the keyboard. No paste option. Just blind entry like the people who developed ForaCommunities. Sick. In 2024 this is just sick. So bad for our country!

Since dropping support for the competitor’s app, ForaCommunities is the only way to access many forums now. Unfortunately it’s barely usable and they don’t seem interested in making it work now that users don’t have a choice of which app to use.

1. The login mechanism is horrible. There’s no way to log into forums using a different email address.
2. ForaCommunities ignores push notification settings on individual forums and just sends you a notification for every post in a watched thread. For me that’s several push notifications a minute.
3. No dark mode support.
4. No way to easily switch between forums or aggregate posts between them.
5. Can’t easily scroll through threads.
6. Copy/Paste buttons don’t work on the iPad version.
7. App doesn’t obey system text size settings

Needs improvements. Tired of drilling down to open a thread then click the back button only to go to the top of the forum. Since most of the forums I follow left Tapatalk I have visited them less and less. This is because Tapatalk was very user friendly ForaCommunities isn’t. They send you a magic link that doesn’t seem to work or at least I can’t make it work. Ended up logging out of ForaCommunities and deleting it from my phone. While less convenient I have started using the web interface for any forum that is associated with Fora.

ForaCommunities description says it's collecting my financial and location data, but that it's not linked to my identity. Why does the vendor need my sensitive information? There is no logical reason other than to sell it, and there is no way the data is salable without being linked to a person. Whether it's linked to our "ID" or not it's really beside the point—it is intrusive and a privacy nightmare. And the full-screen pop-up ads (that pop up and pop up and pop up yet again) are freakin' intolerable! ForaCommunities's going bye-bye on my network.

First, let me start by saying that ForaCommunities is nothing more than a customized web browser. That means that your user experience on the inside is effectively the same as Safari and if the webpage that your access the inside of it is poor then so is ForaCommunities . in this particular case, the search results are wildly different in the webinar face versus using ForaCommunities interfacing the same. ForaCommunities finds almost nothing whereas the web search interface find exactly what you’re looking for.

Overall, do not recommend ForaCommunities at all.

I use Fora to access Bimmerfest forum. I also use the Subaru Outback forum which recently switched to Fora for mobile access. However I can’t setup the Outback forum because I use a different email address there and this Fora app won’t let me specify an email address different from the first (Bimmerfest) community I set up.

ForaCommunities refreshes and flashes all the time.
Swipe to go back does not work.
Lots and lots of ads ruin the reading experience.
Overall, just a poorly written app with a bad user interface.

As if the bugs and random crashes weren’t bad enough, the full screen pop up ads are beyond annoying! Not sure why they changed the thread layout. The “legacy” view was just fine.

It gets stuck loading pretty often if you tap too fast. A force quit resolves it, but you have to navigate back to where you were.

Would be really nice to have automatic system light/dark mode as well. The fact that it’s even an option is great.

Would be 5 stars if the navigation issues were fixed and if light mode switched to dark automatically with the rest of iOS!

Oh, and ForaCommunities icon is a bit too close to Bumble’s for comfort. It would be nice to have my forum app not look like a dating app.

The main flaw is that it has intermittent scrolling issues on the iPad app otherwise a does what is expected.

Finally includes full dark mode support!

ForaCommunities works well. It is much faster and more reliable than the Tapatalk app.

Great APP now after recent updates. Works great.
