Rove Dash Cam Reviews

I needed to retrieve a video so I opened RoveDashCam and it asked me to sign up for an account. I did and it said a confirmation email was sent, but I actually never received one (it’s not in my junk folder or anywhere else to be found). Therefore, I can’t get into my dash cam videos. There is no customer support or anyone I can talk to. This is very frustrating and a known issue as pointed out by other people on Facebook and Reddit. I would give Rove zero stars if I could. The signup process is ridiculous and renders the product useless.

My rove cam app said that it ‘downloaded’ the whole video onto my local album which it did not. I went to re download it but it states that I cannot download it because it’s on the local album, had to screen record in which was freezing every second which was another downer of this service, I’d recommend any other dash cam if they don’t have an update on this what should be a very simple software issue fix. 1/10

Camera is good but app is garbage. Always crashing. Always stopping my downloads when transferring videos. Takes over 20 minutes to download a video when it should take 2-3 and not glitch out on the first attempt. If I get into an accident how will I transfer my evidence and video footage if RoveDashCam doesn’t work??! I always update my apps, I have iPhone 14 Pro, the proper SD card what else can be the problem? Unacceptable you guys need to fix these bugs as this is sensitive information and vital. What if somebody gets into a lawsuit and something happens to footage? I don’t feel safe keeping my footage through this brand because I can’t do anything with the footage. No amount of restarts on my phone, camera, cache clearing, re installs on RoveDashCam will fix this issue. Terrible

RoveDashCam is worthless for re-watching videos or trying to save them for your phone, there’s no way how to do this or it is extremely difficult and non-user-friendly to the point where I can’t figure it out ( I am tech savvy and use many apps). This should be a basic functionality. Like, it’s 2024, come on guys. Everyone does things through cell phones and I am debating on purchasing another cam that actually has good Bluetooth connectivity to a proper phone app where I can watch and save videos on my phone. It seems like the only way to do that with this is popping the SD card into a computer

At the moment RoveDashCam is completely worthless. It’s been like that for several months now. It seems like every update introduces another issue. unable to view any video, unable to enter any setting. It’s worthless. I would stay away until they can fix RoveDashCam for a period of at least six months straight with no issues. Love the company, great products, great customer service. However, RoveDashCam developers must be children because they definitely do not know how to build an app.

RoveDashCam is pretty much useless right now. Sometimes it will appropriately connect to the wifi and load but only partially. And then after a minute it stops being able to access anything. Other times it just keeps saying loading and after an eternity it will say there are no files. I can’t access the settings section at all. It just says loading constantly. The only way I would reliably be able to access the data is taking the microSD out and putting it in my computer. Which would be quite useless if you actually needed the footage when an incident happened. Please fix RoveDashCam .

I’ve had this camera for over two years. In that time there has been several app updates. With each update, I’ve managed to get RoveDashCam functioning with the camera. The latest update, however, requires me to enter the serial number for my camera, which I have done repeatedly and have not been able to get the camera to connect to RoveDashCam . Therefore, having the camera is now useless. Looking for other options at this point, maybe from a well-known Japanese or American brand that would actually function.

After spending almost $300 for a dash cam but before you can use their app, you have to give them your email address. There’s no way to access your own dash cam without giving them personal info that they don’t need.

Also, in order to download any video from the dash cam, RoveDashCam requires full access to your entire photo and video library, which is completely unnecessary.

Had I known this when I was reviewing dash cams, I would certainly not have bought this one.

I’ve been diligently using this camera for years thinking it was doing its job. The one time I needed it to record an accident, it skipped the frame containing the events of the crash. Using RoveDashCam to dig through the clunky directory of a 10 hour drive was also infuriating as the menu would constantly reset and I’d have to enter the date, select the camera and wait for each frame to load until I could reach time of the accident, which was actually missing. This is an amateurish product that Rove’s customers foolishly rely on.

I have two Rove Dash Cams that I use with RoveDashCam and here’s my experience:

Pros:
- great quality camera
- downloads great quality videos
- easy to navigate

Cons:
- slow to download videos
- misses video clips
- inconsistent connection (I have issues staying connected to one of the two cameras)

Overall:
I would like to recommend these cameras and RoveDashCam but after realizing that RoveDashCam and camera miss video clips, I am not sure that I can confidently recommend this product. I was almost t-boned today and there was a two minute gap between videos that just so happened to be during the moment that I was almost t-boned. Had I been in an accident at the 4-way stop, I wouldn’t have had evidence supporting that the other guy ran through the stop sign and locked up his brakes.

One of the major issues I have is when I connect to the camera to delete videos so it can keep recording. I will delete all (or so I think) and it will start recording again, just a few seconds later it will tell me that’s the memory card is full and will not record. All of the erased videos show back up including some from when I bought the camera! I’ve attempted to deleted all videos so many times! It’s very aggravating and time consuming to finally get them erased for awhile (before they show back up later)

RoveDashCam will not let you access the videos that are recorded on it unless you turn off cellular and Bluetooth. Contacted support and they said only WiFi should running. When I first got the camera RoveDashCam would let you access the videos without turning these functions off. This is a hassle to have to do each time. I may ditch this one and go with an other company. I like the camera but RoveDashCam is disappointing.

I used another manufacturer’s dash cam for years until it failed which forced me to go shopping.
Fortunately for me, I found the Rove dash cam which put the other manufacturer to shame. The Rove cam is small & compact but loaded with features.
If you are looking for a dash cam, give Rove a test drive, I’m sure you will be impressed.

Best dash cam on the market for the money far exceeds even the ones that you spend $500 for are not as good as clear as this one with all the additional features that it comes with automatically installation is a breeze recording and viewing the recordings is a breeze. Also, I was strongly recommend this to anybody who looking for a dash cam that got true night vision that looks like daylightand all the information that it offers so if you are in a wreck or if you witness a crime or witness a wreck, it is all the information to the attorneys to correct the problem and show what actually happened pleased give it a five star rating actually give it a six if they had six stars

You can get an easier to read copy of the manual on their web site. Also - some 12 volt car ports (i.e. cigarette lighters) stay on continuously but I think most new cars, at least my Ford, shuts off 30 minutes after car is shut off so no need to manually turn off the dash cam. Overall, am happy with Rove Dash Cam.

I’ve had this camera for 3 years now and it’s still working perfectly. I live in a high temperature area where temperatures reach well over 100 degrees in the summer months and it’s never over heated or malfunctioned. The video quality is top tier indeed. The price made me think twice about buying it but once I bought it I began to understand why it cost so much. It captures 3 different angles at the same time all in 4K. So I would definitely recommend this product to anyone in the gig space doing Ride-Share because you have Front Camera- Rear Camera, and most importantly you have the Inside Camera for your protection. Awesome dash cam. Buy it.

First used a 3rd party memory card and RoveDashCam was slow, then I switched to the recommended memory card. RoveDashCam works extremely well when you use the recommended memory card. If you are having issues with RoveDashCam , use a PC to verify the write and read speed of your memory card. Slow memory write speed slows down RoveDashCam

This is my first ever dashcam that I have ever gotten, my partner got it for me as a Christmas gift and we went the extra steps for the hardwiring kit as that’s what is needed for the 24 hour parking mode. This dashcam is very useful as I park in my busy work parking lot often and I’m always afraid something will happen to my car. Needless to say I am so glad I have this dashcam along with its extra features, definitely a great investment!

Wanted to wait until I had it long enough to give a good review. I have the dual cams back and front dash. Gives the accurate gps locations. Times are a minute or so off but no biggie. I’d say make sure your windows are clean before installing. Made the mistake of a dirty back windshield and the burrs were horrible. If driving in the rain just have the defog on you’ll get a lot camera. Definitely recommend. For reference I ended a situation and the dash cams have enough for me to take my life back. No more leaving the house terrified!!

I hesitated buying one, the quality and the setup was easy. I drive a dump truck for a living and I’ve had so many close calls, now I feel good about having this for my peace of mind. The way people drive today I’m glad I purchased
