I was trying to find a family member, and I downloaded Locater for a total of a minute and 30 seconds. It literally told me it sent him an alert which I could’ve done from Google or any other source. I delete Locater did not find my family members through Locater and now I am blocked out of my Apple ID from downloading any apps until I pay them $59. Contacted Apple support guess what nothing they can do about it so I’m either got stuck paying these people $55 for a minute and 30 seconds or I have to wait 180 days to let them reset my APPLE ID. that is a ridiculous amount of power for a third-party app that Apple cannot control. That is absolutely ridiculous. Do not download Locater!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to inform the person your tracking them

You said that anyone could track any phone without the other person knowing or being aware of this. But when I tried to locate a phone Locater required me to send the other owner a permission to locate phone. So that in itself is why I canceled my membership.

Didn’t get any results and been on it long enough to know I don’t what this. Now it shows nothing to cancel but took my money fast.

You have to ask a permission to allow your location. Almost any phone can do it now. You don’t need Locater. I just wanted to try it for a week and they charged me for one year. I am still waiting to hear from them, so far for almost 3 mounts to have my money back. No Custumer service.
