Puzzles are about what you’d expect for a game like this, and I was genuinely stuck several times during its prologue and three chapters. Wifey saved the day! Although the graphics are very detailed and at times quite lovely (in the all too brief times spent outdoors), the indoor scenery was largely drab, dreary and claustrophobic. Maybe that’s what they were going for, but I thought that it significantly detracted from the overall experience. One fairly huge loose end that was never satisfactorily resolved was the fate and primary roll of a major character, although it’s implied.

Like other iPad and iPhone users have commented, a bug makes one puzzle in Chapter Three unplayable without hints. I've really enjoyed the series, but the stacked boxes puzzle was pretty frustrating until I learned that my struggle was due to a bug.
I take my puzzling pretty seriously. I don't use hints, even if it takes me weeks to figure out a puzzle. Then I found out that I've been banging my head against a lousy coding bug...!? I tried that puzzle on an older iPad and a new iPhone. The bug appears to affect all iOS devices. Oh well... I'm glad to be moving ahead again.
It would be nice if the developers fixed that one bug so the puzzle can be solved by all, or make it clear in the system requirements that a particular puzzle will need hints to solve if using an iOS device.
Other than the one puzzle problem it's a great game and an excellent conclusion to a fantastic series.

The whole series was enjoyable but this chapter was especially satisfying. I played with no hints, which I highly recommend. A few of the puzzles were particularly gratifying. Difficult enough that I found myself completely invested, flipping back and forth between studying the puzzle and studying my photos, my brain pushing to come at it from every angle, the eerie music complimenting the experience. And when it finally clicked, it was a serious dopamine rush. The solution making perfect sense. Many similar games seem to miss this mark, puzzles being either far too easy or difficult but only because they make no sense… even after you solve them. These creators found that balance. I can’t know for sure, but the creativity leads me to believe a LOT of time and hard work was put in and I want to thank all involved.
