Sky Tonight - Star Gazer Guide Reviews

Very nice touch to an evolving app but curious why I need to keep buying a new app instead of updating these features within star walk 1 and 2. A few suggestions- I wish the stargazing index would reference and show how it is being calculated, do you use CSC data? I would also love to see nebula or other DSO listed on the visible tonight list (as the settings ask for magnitude range I would love to see darker objects added). Add a setting to increase panning speed while searching, it’s too laggy. Don’t let these suggestions take away from the utility of SkyTonight. It’s been great, love the trajectory of selected objects with hourly tick marks! Makes it easy when I should go outside. Thanks!

I guess I’m just inept at locating stars. I’ve had this program and one other program for about a year now. The only things that I could find is the big dipper Orion‘s belt Venus the international space station and two other constellations I forgot the names. The frustrating thing is I got these programs so I can at least find the little dipper and Polaris and I’m still lost trying to find them. On top of that I don’t seem to be able to get this program to work for me or explain how I am supposed to use it. It makes me wonder if there’s another program that I’m supposed to get that tells me how to do this?

But besides all the frustration I do come out almost every night and try to find Polaris and any other stars or constellations that are in the sky at that time.

I didn’t things could get better than the star walk 2 App. But I’m sure it will be evan better! Love all the apps !! So enjoy full !! Love just sitting in my hot tub after finishing my swing shift in the city of Denver well … not so much Colorado any more!! More like calirado or colorless evan New Rado. With this and the other apps I can float away to another planet or star evan a whole new galaxy!!!

SkyTonight is great and includes recent articles on astronomy and related topics. I read it every day!
The only flaw I could find is that the articles aren’t sorted by date, which is a pain if you read it every day and just want to see the most recent items. And, there’s no manual “sort by date” option. It seems like it would be a fairly simple fix. Is that something the developers might consider doing?

SkyTonight and site are fantastic, I did not realize that I could send a text from this site to my Lady so she also can look for the meteors tonight. Believe me when I say that this is very user friendly if there were going to be problems setting this up I would have had them because I am not to savvy about this stuff but to my surprise I got through it the first time and it was very easy...Dan

It would be great if I could use SkyTonight to see all of the visible satellites in the night sky. A magnitude filter would be nice too. You can do that now by going back and forth between search and the sky view but it is annoying.

The AR is great and the database is huge.

I enjoy SkyTonight because of the fact that I can actually on my time discover what I’ve always been interested in all my life all 45 years

Just got SkyTonight and so far it’s all looked good, excited to see and learn some new things on SkyTonight. Doesn’t seem to be as crowded on the screen as Star Walk(still a great app). So I’m ready to see what there is

Great star map and it shows comet Lenard. I wish there were some more detailed directions on how to use- took a while to get the compass calibration correct. Still, great app

I heard about this up from a friend it was really good and I thought I loved it it really is amazing it works amazingly and I’m very happy with the results

The developer of SkyTonight needs some kind of award or something. This is the best app I’ve ever used, download it and I promise you want be let down!

App is amazing and introduces new way to see the night sky, love the different features, it does vary from StarWalk 2 which is Amazing!

I wanted to use this but I can’t after seeing that it does not respect its users. There is no need to invade users privacy like this. I will modify this review if the developer removes tracking.

I have a old phone that doesn’t have a lot of storage so Star walk 2 is too big for my phone sadly. I now can use SkyTonight which works just as well thank you!
