wonderful for book lovers

I love LiteralClub! I was invited by a fiend and it’s so cool to see what everyone is reading and what they thought about certain books. My only complaint would be that I’ve accidentally added books to my “read” shelf and there is no way to delete them….

what i’ve been looking for

LiteralClub has sm potential as a rival book app to goodreads. i’ve been waiting so long for a new updated, modern app for keeping track of books and sharing quotes and all that. there are definitely a few things that should be added like yearly book goals, being able to update how far into a book u are, etc. this is the only app that’s been able to get me off of goodreads and i can’t wait to see how much better it gets! 4 stars for the amount of potential this has!

Password problems

I register through instagram and it only asks for name and email, once you finish you get send an email for a little questionnaire about what books you like and how many you read then nothing, if you try to log in you need a password that you never get asked to make or they give you one, if you try to reset a password you just get fail attempt. I had high hopes for LiteralClub, looks neat.

Need a Yearly Goal

Love LiteralClub already! The design is so much better and more modern than Goodreads. I love the scanning feature for quotes. The only thing I wish it had was reading goals like Goodreads does.

so nice to use!

I was on the waitlist and was just able to join! LiteralClub is so nice to use - it’s a lot better than GoodReads. I love the look of LiteralClub , and how easy it is to navigate. It definitely rivals StoryGraph in that sense.

How to sign up

Go to the browser to sign up. It will say join and put you on a waitlist.

Haven’t actually used LiteralClub yet so I’m putting four stars for now

Gatekeeping knowledge ain’t cute

The invite only is a bit obnoxious. Supposedly you only wait about a week or two for an email. It’s been a month and I’ve received nothing and still can’t sign up or use. As far as I’m concerned, an app isn’t functional if the majority of people who download it are unable to use it.

Love It!

I was invited using a link on Instagram and I can honestly say I’m in love! My only issue is that I’ve forgotten my password and I can’t reset it.

Love it so far!

Took a while to get an invite but seems worth it so far. Looking forward to its growth

Great community of readers

I am not sure where the negative reviews are stemming from. LiteralClub cultivates an incredible community of book lovers which serves to better curate highlights, comments, and suggestions. The founders are full independent and care about what they are making. Sure, Goodreads is made by Amazon and has the firepower to churn out features but that ends up becoming extremely noisy. Many times, less is more.

If Goodreads is your Amazon or Barnes and Nobles book store, Literal feels like the small locally-owned book shop. The experience is different because it feels more intimate and focused on the human connection.

If you care to support independent creators and well thought out product development, this is it.

Can’t sign up

Only a sign in screen exists on first time download? So I’m stuck without a way to create an account?

Fix app

Can’t even sign up because it only offers a sign in screen
