Idle Barber Shop Tycoon Reviews

Don’t get this game unless you have the patience. I’ve been playing a week and upgrades happen once a day with my schedule. Been playing a week and still the shop looks empty and with 2 chairs. I even paid for no-ads and it’s useless because the benefits you gain from it don’t immediately help and are timed much shorter than other games. The story quests are so easy that when you move to the next story I always have my quests done. So I’m literally sitting there with nothing to work towards besides taking care of 2 customers at a time… I don’t know how this has such a high rating but anyone like to care to explain. I’m all ears. I already put in refund requests in and I know what I am talking about because I really do play most of these tycoon games and pay for no-ads. This game is the worst of them all to progress. So in the end I paid and progress is still broken. I have TV, Box Office, Theme Park, Hotel, Music Fest and Supermarket tycoon games and they all had better pacing than this.

The lack of new content or story line is completely unacceptable. You have been using the same statement since June 2021. If you are not going to give us new content just say so. Like others on here have said, it’s just taking up space. Give us an update or give us a different response from your standard we are working on it and other games as well. If you were smart you would have multiple teams working on different games that are successful. Not one team working on all your games. If new content does not arrive by October 15, 2021, I’ll be contacting Apple to have your apps removed for fraudulent advertisement and misrepresentation of a product and any other violations of Apples terms of service I can find. I have done this to other developers and will not hesitate to do it to a game I like. Also, you pretty much force us to by diamonds to upgrade everything and we have so many of them but can’t use them, due to lack of content.

I’ve reached the end, fully upgraded everything in the shop (except one beard), and the same reply of ‘the team is working on future updates’ isn’t enough for me anymore… this game hasn’t had a content update in months since the developers would rather make more games than improve on the current ones out:

Update: the replay from the developers is different, but not good enough. Especially since the last game update of any kinda was 3 months ago for bug fixes. At least let those who’ve maxed out have the option of getting the last level for the last beard upgrade since it’s based on popularity and we don’t know what the value if “max” is.

BUG: Once I unlocked the reception area my customers get up and leave seconds after arriving in the shop. They aren’t angry and they haven’t been waiting too long, they’ll even walk out of the shop when I have free chairs and barbers available to cut their hair. It’s just broken and now I’m making no money cause all my clients are just walking out of the shop. The reception area should make customers stay LONGER not leave almost as soon as they arrive.

OPINION: Also the story is extremely frustrating how long it takes to unlock things that actually benefit you. no one cares about what color the door is or how many posters are on the wall when they don’t have enough chairs for their clients

May have given it a 5 star but customer support is awful. It’s been a week of argument and still no resolution. I spent the 100 gems for the stylist but it glitched and wouldn’t give me the stylist but still charged me. Aside from that, the story is paced well and interesting. It doesn’t force you to spend real money to get what you need to progress. It doesn’t take long to get through the story either which is nice. Overall I would say great job for being one of the better idle games. Customer support really rubbed me wrong. May delete this one and others before I get to involved because if they won’t fix something as simple as my problem then I’m concerned about the what if of their other titles. Hope this review helps.

To be honest, I had an absolute blast with this game. I only played once or twice a day and it took me a few weeks to complete all the stories (which were actually engaging). I've seen the devs say they're working on it but it's been about 6 months I think, so I'm starting to wonder if it's been placed on the back burner and devs are focusing on other project. So for lack of new content after being told I would receive it repeatedly, I'm taking off a start. Gameplay wise, the AI is kind of silly sometimes. There are two desks they can check in at and two waiting areas, but they check in at whichever one had an employee standing there first, regardless of if the customer walked in after the employee was at the desk. Meaning an incredible amount of time gets wasted watching customers walk all the way across the shop when there was a closer counter available. For that I removed another star. All that being said, if you like idle games, this is a very good one and I'd still recommend it. I'm primarily giving lower stars to gain the devs attention.

I like this game as it really is the definition of an idle game. You can play it for a few hours straight or just check it once a day. I especially enjoy the little storylines for each employee and the main story as well. The pricing is pretty well balanced, in my opinion, as it takes some time to get enough money to max stuff out but doesn’t take years to do so. This goes for the reputation bar as well which progresses the storyline.
All that said, I have a few issues with this game. Firstly, I’ve completely maxed out everything so I’m stuck here waiting for another update. I got this game maybe a week or two ago, so I’ve managed that pretty quickly though I did buy the income upgrade pack. That said, I still think I could have maxed this out in less than a month without the pack. I still think the pricing is well done, it’s just that the updates need to be released faster and with a lot more progress players can make.
Additionally, there are a lot of English errors in the descriptions and dialogues of each character. It’s not unplayable with them, you can still understand the storylines and stuff. It just means you have to read a little more closely or go over something twice to understand it. Kind of kills the vibe and makes the game seem underdeveloped.

Slow start, spent money because it was a good game to play in my spare time. A little dismayed that after spending money there was no more content / ‘story’. I’ve maxed out every facility and haircut except the last beard because I don’t have enough reputation points which makes no sense because my rep points are maxed out. Hope you guys come out with the remainder of the story soon so I can finish the ‘coffee bar’ area. Overall 8/10 for the game if you are looking for something to do during your free time.

I love idle games a lot, and this is the first one I've seen with an actual story, and while the plot is fun sometimes, it makes the game drag a bit. The pacing is good, and the designs are smart and nice to look at, and the characters themselves are pretty unique. A note to devs: a larger speed boost button would be good for those two like to use two thumbs to tap (this gal) and maybe a skip story? Or at least auto/skip dialogue. Getting past it seems like a chore sometimes, especially if IdleBarberShopTycoon needs to close during a scene.

I really enjoy the game, there are ads to get everything you need willingly which I’m more inclined to do than having ads shoved in my face.

The storyline is cute and I completely maxed out the shop, but you can just tell there needs to be more done for the storyline and the shop. So I decided to come to the reviews to see if I was doing everything correctly.. just to find out the game hasn’t been updated in over a year..

What a bummer. :/

I’ve had this game for a while. Even deleted it and came back to it months later hoping there would be new updates. I’ve maxed out the both times and I’m still hoping for additional content.

With that out of the way I will say it’s a decently made game. It’s paced well and the story is also done well. The game is simple and doesn’t require too much effort. Like others I appreciate that it doesn’t take forever to max out the shop. However, I can tell when the game was designed originally that they left room for expansion and updates. Why else would you be able to move the screen in any other direction than the shop.

If you’re looking for ideas to continue the story there’s so much to choose from. One way would be to continue by upgrading the back hallway with the bathroom. So much more to do with that space. Make a story arc seeing the back corner turned into a storage for supplying both the bar and the barbershop.

And that back courtyard can be used for a different story arc. Maybe tie it into a weekly mini-game where that will be your launch point area. Just food for thought.

All in all I enjoyed the game. Just wish there was more new content.

I purchased the game to get the full experience of this idle game, without annoying Adds and what not. Been playing for a while now and it’s come to be a relaxing game with an interesting story line that keeps me interested and wanting to play and progress. The graphics and animations are nice, as well as listening to the music.

Although it’s a good game, I had some dislikes. I would of really enjoyed to edit the main avatar to look like myself, just to feel more immersed with the game and the story line.

The system in where you trade 100 gems for a random character is lame, in my opinion. It’s annoying having to invest time with characters that you don’t care about, making it feel like there is little control over who you really want working at the shop and messing up the aesthetics

On that note, the special added skill/talent that each character provides is alright. Although, it’s just better if the player base gets to choose the talent skill for the character that they use and prefer to have active.

And lastly! The game would be 10x better if there was more choices to choose when it comes to decorating the shop.

None of these dislikes are game breaking and I would recommend to give it a shot and see for yourself! :)

I’ve had fun the last few weeks playing this game during down time. My reputation points maxed out and because of it I can’t upgrade the last shave to max limit. I’ve been able to generate billions in funds and was able to max out all upgradable equipment. Now…. Where do I go? Besides the one shave I can’t max out, I’ve maxed everything and have nowhere to go except pile up billions of dollars with nothing to spend it on. This has been one of the better idle tycoon games I’ve played and don’t want to delete it yet but I feel that’s the next step for this game.

This isn’t far from your typical idle game. I enjoy the story and am excited for the next update for more story. I’ve played this one longer than most games of this type.
The thing I appreciate most is that ads are not forced on you. So many games like this you are basically forced to watch millions of ads to make any progress, and that makes me delete more games than anything. In this game, however, watching ads can be very helpful but is far from necessary, and I’m hoping the developers keep it that way.

I’m updating this review because I fixed the ad problem lol.
Turns out it wasn’t the latest update that kept the ad rewards from working, instead it was simply a section of the game with this bug.
(The storyline before they buy the toilet is where the ads bug out).
A lot of people complain that affording better upgrades takes too long, but I love the challenge!
The dialogue is awkward and not very interesting, but it does make the game. 5/5 stars

First off, I really like this game. It’s a little bit slow at first but once you start really playing it it’s super fun. I definitely recommend playing it. But, I have a few problems . The first one is that when you buy the couch, the customers sit for a few seconds and then leave. Even after I upgraded the waiting time a few hundred. I also have a suggestion. Instead of people leaving because there’s only one space to check people in, in the story mode, you can unlock a second space at the desk to check people in. That’s all I have! Thanks so much! It definitely felt a little slow to start, bit progression picks up once you’re introduced to how it works. It’s very similar to other idle tycoon games but has a surprisingly refreshing storyline for each character and checking back daily for plot updates feels rewarding as I can usually finish out an upgrade or two. The mission goals are easy enough to accomplish and keep the growth pretty steady. I really dig the music too. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼

The game started out fun but as I progressed it got really boring, I am already at 31,000 rep points and still only have 2 barbers, it’s cool to have a story but it drags and nothing more useful than to wait hours or a day to rank up only to find out it was for a wall decoration like come on it’s starting to feel more like something else than a barbershop game, and the couch feature brings in less customers as they sit for 1sec then bounce? What did I spend in game money for!!!???

I made it to where I can’t upgrade anything because I reached MAX on the purple icon. It’s a little upsetting because it didn’t take long and I haven’t seen it have an update in a LONG time. Last one was about 8 months ago, and am hoping for it to continue because I really enjoy the simplicity and interesting characters throughout the game. I’m gonna keep the game for now and wait for the next update, regardless.

Maxed everything out pretty fast. The story in this game is unlike any other idle tycoon, it's characters have families, personalities, and stories of their own that separate them from other 1 dimensional blobs. Queer friendly, too! The main character can be in a same sex relationship if you want. The barbershop and bar are very customizable. My only issue is that the game seems to be sitting on updates that are yet to come. I see the dev promising updates soon, but it appears that's looking less and less likely. Still worth playing and supporting the devs tho!!
