4.8 out of 5
App was good, 1.10 pushed me out.

Even the expert puzzles aren’t that hard, but it was pleasant. My main complaint is it’s too easy for me to fat finger the wrong number which after 3 times per puzzle forces ads on you to continue. I didn’t like it, but it wasn’t too bad. The latest update to 1.10 added an ad banner at the bottom of the screen, so now I’m fat fingering more because they had to squish stuff together more, and I accidentally tap the banner ads too. They are also distracting. I don’t mind apps making money with ads. I do mind when it affects the playability too much. And for me, this version does that.

No longer usable

Awesome except the adds render Sudoku useless. They were really annoying when they required you to turn the sound on your phone off instead of defaulting to silent—that probably only rendered Sudoku useless to people who use their phone as a phone. Now, adds play sound even when the phones entire sound is turned off. So you can’t use Sudoku unless you’re alone and completely isolated and no where near other people and never want your ringer on ever again. I don’t mind adds, but they shouldn’t interfere with actually being able to use your phone.

Great game but now ads interrupt every game multiple times-uninstalling

I very much enjoyed playing this particular version. But now adds pop up not only between games but multiple times during a three minute game. There is no option to pay to go ad free so uninstalling after being frustrated because fifteen seconds into a game and now an ad, then about 60 seconds later interrupted by another ad and it keeps interrupting multiple times in just three minutes of play. This was my favorite app. Removing.

Suddenly ads during the game.

I have played this game for months and enjoyed it. Suddenly ads are popping up a number of times during play. No, just no. It interrupts the play breaking my concentration. I get back to playing and a very few moves later and ads break in again. It’s awful. I’ve looked for paying for no ads but there is none. I’ll continue playing for a short while but it the ads during play continue I’ll delete it.

Used to LOVE

I used to LOVE this version. I liked that it has a black mode because I like to play at night before bed. The amount of LONG ADs you are forced to watch now for that stupid king game is ridiculous. I have tried to not care and say all games have ads these days but I can’t take it anymore. I severely miss the days when games came on a cd and you popped it in a played it. No cloud subscription or ads 😭 can’t I just pay for a game and have it be just that!?!?!?!?

Inconsistent difficulty

Great game all around but I’ve had this particular app for a year now. I don’t play enough to be completely caught up with their calendar dailies but I’ve done about 2-3 months worth of puzzles and I’ve started to notice a few games labeled as easy and medium being well over hard difficulty. Also there no way to remove the ads which is not user friendly.

Room for improvement

I like the game, but I don’t like that we only get 3 mistakes, and on the 3rd mistake you have to watch a minute long advertisement to get back down to 2 mistakes. On any level harder than “easy,” it is an unrealistic expectation to stay under such a low number of mistakes in this app. Also, when starting a new game, sometimes you have to watch another minute long advertisement, but they don’t start the game after the ad. The games are timed as like a challenge to see if you can beat your best time, but the time starts while the ad is running, so by the time you get to actually playing the game, there’s already a minute on the clock. Overall a good game, but definitely still room for improvement.

Basically like

Basically like Sudoku. I like that the number you are working on lights up all. Say working on the 4 it shows all the 4’s already on the board. Makes it easier to see. Hate the ads in between. What’s really annoying is you try to start a puzzle but then the add comes up. By the time the ad is done a minute has already gone by on the timer. I like to time myself. If Sudoku was available free if ads for a cost I’d buy it. Major flaw is if an ad is running and you shut your phone off. It freezes on the ad. Can’t get it to unfreeze so have to delete Sudoku and then download again ☹️

New dark view is cool

I like the new dark view and would have given it a 5 except that the selection numbers across the bottom are barely visible in a lighted room during dark mode. I want to stay in dark mode all the time because those colors are easier on your eyes wether it’s dark or light in the room. Those numbers just need to be a tad brighter.

Well done

Font size and graphics are better than other apps. Mistakes in typing numbers occur very seldom. My only criticism is that the “notes” are difficult for this old person to read, since the gray numbers do not show up well on the blue background. I like the daily challenges. I would rate the difficulty of the puzzles as slightly easier than other this app apps. Overall, this is my this app app of choice.

Good, no frills, but too easy

This is a pretty good this app app. The UI works and is easy to use. My main issue is that the “expert” puzzles are much too easy. One feature I like is that it will highlight all instances of a number on the board. However, I’d like the option to figure out if I placed a wrong number rather than have it immediately tell me I made a mistake, and you can’t lock a number to place multiple notes with one tap.

Nice app. Needs harder puzzles.

Unlike some this app apps, this one manages notes in the conventional and most useful way, and offers flexibility in highlighting and whether affected notes are automatically removed when a square is solved. There are a couple of other tools that I’d like, such as being able to color tag notes, but compared with its competition I highly recommend it.

My only complaint is that the puzzles never get seriously difficult, even on the expert setting. I blew through 150 Expert level puzzles at an average of about 10 minutes each, and seldom used anything more complex than an X-wing or requiring uniqueness in a solution. Add a Black Belt puzzle category and five stars.

Awesome Graphics! EASY on my eyes!

I have played thousands of games of this app on other apps. Being very near sighted I find small numbers and tight layouts difficult for me. I have made many suggestions to other developers requesting upgrades and changes to make the game most friendly to visually impaired people. It appears the developers of this game listen to everything I told the others and developed a perfect solution for me. I really appreciate the thought and execution they demonstrated when they developed this this app game.

Great job!!!!!

Me likey

Great app. No ads. The hint function, however, is not a hint. It just tells you to highlight a square and gives you the answer. On other ad heavy apps, the hint function took you through a three step series of looking at the board. It made you think, and I learned a few things about how to look at the board…

BEST Sudoku set up

When you touch a number it highlights all of “that number” on the board so you can see where they are located - makes it easier to see where one is needed. Also once that number is completed it will disappear from number options to use.

Review of sudoku

I play the game in order to train my brain. The other app punished me for exploratory moves that would help me discover the patterns and strategies that are most conducive to success. To me, success is figuring out the puzzle. Success is NOT stopping the game because I lost a small number of chances to get it right. Fixing errors makes patterns for success more obvious and thus teaches me better.

Play this game

So I am a kid and very picky about games but this personality is a great game. One thing I would say for the game is it is a little challenging witch I like but I have played other ones that are a little easier and a little more experience. Remember that is my opinion if you think something different than that’s ok.

Things I like about the new Sudoku

The game play is pretty smooth and the font size makes for a better desire to play the game. It is a more intuitive and enjoyable play. This is a first blush Review; after I play more of the game I would be willing to amplify my Review if you would like. Thank you for the improvements anyway.

Great contrast

I have poor eyesight. The numbers have great contrast and are easy to see. I like that the notes highlight too. I am less likely to make a mistake because I thought I was making a note. I deleted the last this app AP due to too many ads. So far, there weren’t any during the game.

No annoying ads

I have loaded maybe three or four this app apps. I get very annoyed that they spend most of the time trying to get me to load other games rather than moving on to play more games. Sudoku has a nice feature where you can add your hints to the board. You have to be careful though, otherwise you can inadvertently place a guess when you exit Hint-record mode.

One App that I have played has the possible moves displayed (if you wish). Sudoku has a hint if you click on a blank space and hit the light bulb. I like that it doesn’t display all of the possible hints. It feels like less of a cheat that way.

Anyways, kudos to the developers.
