I enjoyed playing the game up until I noticed two recurring issues. The first issue on many of the boards played is when there are four tiles left in set of two stocks and the first two top tiles will be paired but the remaining two will not match. I have encountered this error on many of the boards so the game displays unresolved and resets the game and completes it. The second issue is some of the board games are truly UNSOLVABLE even when using the HINT option from the start of the game to test run the board logic the game stops playing because there are no more tile options to match. Very disappointing to experience these issues with some of the boards specially because points are awarded for completing against the clock. Please fix it.
Well I’m a nutshell, the menu at the top where options etc are located, don’t fit my 12 Pro Max display and there is no landscape mode. It seems like when they created this game they didn’t think it through. Even worse apple let it go through so it’s very clear that there was no quality control from the creator of this game and no quality control from Apple. I think it would be a decent game if they just fix it. At least put an option in the game to play in landscape mode. When you pay a monthly subscription fee you expect the games that you download to at least fit the screen that you’re playing the game on. I definitely don’t recommend this game right now but I may change my mind if the developer fixes it.
So I pay for Apple Arcade since I have impulse control issues with IAP. Very disappointed that I have to go through a hoop to gain full access to the game. The entire point for Apple Arcade is to have full access to a game from the beginning. Not looking forward to future walls in other games.
Other than that, I have been throughly enjoying the game. The puzzles are just the right amount of effort to help manage some of my ADHD symptoms without completely pulling me away from my surroundings.
This is a very nice version of Mahjong, and I’ve played many. It has a nice variety of tiles and background options to keep it interesting- the traditional tiles are available as well as simpler challenges like foods and letters- would make it easier for kids to learn. Plus they have some nice options that make the games go faster if you want, such as highlighting available tiles so you know which ones are free. My only small complaint is that it would be nice to have more music choices- I like the idea of listening to music as I solve, but the tune is repetitive after awhile. *Note that I have only played 20 or so games at this point, so if there are issues with having to pay to get more boards or anything like that, I haven’t seen them yet. I will update my review if I come across anything like that, but otherwise this is just a fun version of Mahjong with some nice bells and whistles to make in interesting. Enjoy!
This is a good way to relax. At first boards are challenging but becomes tedious after you meet all the challenges except for number of boards completed. I would suggest adding more challenges. Also give the “par” time up front, you don’t see it until after you complete a board.
The best thing about Apple games is no ads. There are better games outside of Apple Arcade but ads are ridiculous, so I’m willing to pay Apple for no ads. Too bad games aren’t better.
This is a great relaxing game with so many boards and levels and the customization is amazing! There is only one problem. When you can’t solve it (no more matches) it says you either have to shuffle or restart. That makes you lose a star. It’s not my fault that the games program doesn’t work properly. Other than that it is an all in all great game and they should keep working hard to make it the best it can be!
I feel like anyone could solve these puzzles. However, I try challenging myself by always getting three stars on each puzzle. I replay it if I don’t. I’ve completed 1,200+ puzzles, but only a few have really challenged me. I wish this game had difficulty levels to make it more competitive — or maybe an online play with friends option. It’s still a nice game though and a great addition to the Apple Arcade.
I love this game. The 4 stars is because I’ve completed all of the boards including the daily boards back to where there aren’t anymore and still have 2 goals left. I finished them when I got to 4100 boards. I know I can replay any of them, but I like seeing incomplete groups to keep me interested in completing interim milestones. To replay over 6300 games I’ve already completed to reach the 10,000 games played seems like a let down.
Love this version of Mahjong; I find it very relaxing and therapeutic. Its very customizable with different wallpapers and tiles, and the background music is so very beautiful…..my only complaint would be that the music is only one song about 3 minutes long or less and it just replays over and over. To make this beautiful game something I could play for hours, they will have to add more music. As it is, I stop playing after about 10 minutes because I grow tired of the same song playing over and over again….no matter how beautiful it is.
Give yourself the gift of some zen by downloading this game.
Just a straightforward matching tiles game. There’s several options for how the tiles set displayed and the option to have sound or not.
No pop up ads every few puzzles, just a request to leave a review, for which you’re rewarded with 50 additional puzzles. Since I’m already paying for Apple Arcade I really find it irritating when games ask for more money, e.g., Tetris wants you to spend more money or watch gamified ads to continue.
Edit: devs could you please add in an option to turn off/not show the star rating? Please please please? 🥺 I am playing this game to counter my perfectionism and enhance and build a habit of uncontrolled joy. I would greatly appreciate it! 🥺🙏
On critter76’s request to see time during the game, in case the “show time” checkbox in the options menu is supposed to do that, i tested it and it doesn’t work.
Thank you for the peace and sleep this has brought. Straightforward, simple, and calming.
I’m still in the beginning boards I’m sure since they have all been solvable pretty easily but I enjoy that. It’s an easy game to kill time and relax the mind. The tiles are pretty and there are several backgrounds to change out for a different feel.
Only thing I may suggest is showing the timer while you are playing the game instead of just after the puzzle is solved. Mild frustration when I’m trying for all three stars and miss the time by just a couple of seconds when I know I could have finished the last few tiles a smidge faster and made it.
Because of this being released under the Apple arcade brand, I rediscovered how much fun Mahjong can be. This free with Apple game subscription version contains plenty of options for backgrounds and for tiles. I love playing with international flags as the tiles. I highly recommend downloading and trying it.
Note: it does not sync between your iPad and your iPhone so choose which device you want to use before you begin.
I love this game. You don’t see the timer, which makes it better because you’re not trying to rush to beat the time. It feels more relaxing. I’ve definitely sat for hours or right before I go to bed doing levels. There’s definitely a lot of levels so you’re not gonna run out anytime soon. They do more difficult as you go along but for me, games are just to have fun.
I have been playing this game for several months and I really enjoy it! I paid for the game to get extra levels. I honestly don’t remember if there were ads but in the paid version I have never seen an ad. The early levels are very easy but you can skip those and play the harder levels if you want. The daily puzzles are great and vary in difficulty. It feels like there are endless levels to play! Very happy with the game! Great value for the money!
Seemingly for just another application game, this one seems to take it farther than most. Not only does it provide fun and different sizes shapes and routes, but it also looks to make you feel comfortable with beautiful calming music. The fact that there is variety and vibrance of color is just the icing on the cake. There’s not many games that I would take the time to make a review for, but this is one that truly does deserve a little bit of extra applause to the developers.
MahjongTitan is really awesome. I like that when there are two pieces on top of each other as the last move, they reset it as an unsolvable outcome. I also love having the timer nowhere in site, takes away that pressure of a ticking clock. There are also SO MANY puzzles like it’s gonna be a while before I finish them all lol! I am enjoying it so far and I also love the design of the pieces.
This game is fun for those moments you are waiting in line, or you have a few mins before your name is called in a doctors office. Each round takes about 1-2 mins in the beginning and it’s fun to challenge yourself against the clock. I have a three star streak so far and I intend to keep it that way. You don’t have to over concentrate and it’s quick. Enjoy!
No fuss, no unnecessary frills, just Mahjong.
The goals are basic (complete the board within a time limit for a star, don’t use shuffle for another star and so on) which adds an extra layer of challenge without an extra layer of complexity. Tile and background customization provide interesting options without making themselves the focus in any way. Boards can be replayed infinitely and there are plenty to choose from.
You came for Mahjong, and that’s what you’ll get.
Full disclosure: I was offered 50 extra boards if I submitted *A* review. I give a *5 star* review because it’s just that beautiful and enjoyable of a game! The different combos of backgrounds and tile designs are satisfying as well. I would have declined to review if I hadn’t been offered the boards simply because I was so invested in playing and didn’t want the interruption. But because I like it so much, I definitely want those extra boards. One of the best mahjong games out there!!
