Disappointing paywall

I really enjoyed Cubtale at first, many features were accessible for free - which is why I chose to use it in the first place. However, one day I noticed that charts and features I used daily were suddenly only available to premium members. When I asked customer service what had happened, they informed me emails had been sent and in-app notifications about the change that certain features were now only available to premium members. After finding the vaguely worded emails in my spam folder (which were sent with less than a week’s notice) I was extremely frustrated and disappointed at the poor communication and that my child’s health data was suddenly only accessible in forms that I relied on if I paid the fee. While the discounted fee they offered was not the issue, I was concerned about this change in terms and did not want to deal with future changes like this. After multiple emails back and forth, they agreed to let me export my child’s health data (again, a feature that was only available for premium). I will no longer be using their app and not recommending it to friends.

It WAS great

I have loved this app for the last 6 weeks that we’ve used it. Until today, when I went to go view the averages of sleep and diapers that my infant has had only to find that it is now considered a premium feature. (I’ve had access to it the entire time prior to this) I decided to see what the cost of premium was and saw that it’s $6.99/month or billed yearly at $50. Way too high imo, especially as a new mom in this economy. I’m severely disappointed that I no longer have access to view the averages of the last 24 hours, 3 days and 7 days. I’ll probably look for another app that can provide these options for free or a cheaper cost. Just super bummed to have to look elsewhere now because this was a great app prior to this change.

Crippled Unless You Pay

Cubtale works decently and we tried premium for a while, but didn’t see the benefit, so we canceled our subscription. That made us lose some nice features like being able to use Siri Shortcuts, but we could still do what we needed and see some simple graphs, which my wife likes. Recently they hid ALL the graphs unless you get premium, which I think is ridiculous. They’re also constantly pushing their hardware cub devices in Cubtale , and you can’t turn off those ads even if you subscribe. Overall, disappointed with Cubtale and will definitely be using a different one for our next baby. Hopefully they at least use some of their subscription money to do a redesign because the art style of Cubtale is also super ugly and dated.

Please fix all of the bugs and glitches!

Cubtale could be SO great. And it really is a lifesaver when it comes to tracking all the important things for our babies. But there are SO MANY BUGS AND GLITCHES. Whenever you log a pumping for both breasts, it will log them as two separate entries even though you posted the amounts on one entry. It will do the same for recording a bottle whenever you record breast milk and formula in one entry. It will also duplicate sleep entries. Everyday, I have to look at the sleep entries and delete the duplicates. There was one time I had 7 entries for 1 nap entry I recorded! These are just some of the bugs that I’ve experienced while using Cubtale. I’m going to continue to use it because I’m too far in and too committed with all the data I’ve entered. But they really need to fix these issues.

Great App, More Potential

My husband and I have been using Cubtale since our baby was born in March. We love the ability to add a caregiver so we could both log and track our activities, which was critical in those early weeks when you’re sleep deprived and delirious (What day is it? Didn’t baby eat 30 min ago - oh wait… it’s been 2 hours?! Which boob did I start with last?). We also love the ability to run reports for our pediatrician appointments so we can provide the most accurate information and trends. It’s even better that I can log from my Apple Watch when I inevitably forget my phone in another room. We love it so much, we’ve recommended it to our friends who have babies or are expecting.

However, I wish Cubtale had a single cub for feeds. Now that our baby is in daycare, she alternates between breastfeeding and bottle feeding. In an ideal app, it would be great to have a single feeding cub so you could track the last feed and set up reminders based on that feed. In current state, I log bottles and get reminders even though I’ve breastfed within that time period or vice versa. Regardless, will continue using Cubtale as its has so many features that will grow with our baby!

Please fix time zones!

My wife and I love Cubtale. It is absolutely amazing. The free features are fantastic. The reason that I have it for starts instead of five is that it completely screws up time zones. My wife and I have been traveling between Chicago and the east coast these last few weeks, and the trackers completely fall apart in completely unpredictable ways. For example, my wife fed our baby starting 1:30 ago for 40 minutes. Cubtale currently says that the baby’s last feeding started 30 minutes ago and ends in the future.

Once this is fixed, I’ll change my review to 5 stars.

Generally happy with the app

My partner and I are using Cubtale to help with tandem infant care. I paid for a year.
So far I haven’t been able to get the voice command to work but I’m not bothered by that too much.
Overnight an update changed 1 small thing that I thought was useful and that is being able to add a bottle without a fluid amount. We have timed our bottles based on start of feeding and I would push the save button and then update the amount at the end to reflect what he consumed. Now Cubtale won’t allow it. Being able to do that for middle of the night wakings was especially valuable because it took little thought while being overly tired. I personally would like this small feature to be “fixed” back to the way it was.

Revert the update

I have an 8 week old and have been using this consistently most of that time. I’m in a trial period for the premium subscription and so far I like it. I use the widgets on my Home Screen to quickly see when she had her last bottle etc. and going into Cubtale for other stuff has been easy as well. However, Cubtale updated in the middle of the night and now the home screen “cub” tab is completely different. The icons were large before and very distinctive and I knew by muscle memory where they were. Now they’re in two list or columns and the icons are much smaller and harder to differentiate. I hate it. So frustrating when something works well and it’s messed with anyways. Please go back to how it was, I can’t see anyone liking this more. I haven’t had the chance to see if there are other major changes in Cubtale but this one was the most obvious and annoying

Great App

I’ve used different tracking apps because I nanny two other children but I wanted a specific one for my own child. Overall, I love Cubtale. I love that I can use my Apple Watch and I love how customizable and simple it is. However, it’s very frustrating when you have an upset baby and you’re trying to log something quickly but Cubtale freezes or glitches out. For me, it primarily happens with logging diapers. I will have to exit Cubtale and reopen it to click anything but the diaper in the middle. As a breastfeeding mom, I need to be able to log specifics about that diaper change to look at the big picture and know if my baby is hydrated and getting enough hindmilk.

Log everything or a few things

I love the way Cubtale allows you to choose what you want to log and keep track of. You can hide the things you don’t want to see too.

I picked it up only when I wanted to start noticing a routine. It’s also absolutely wonderful that mama and partner can be on the same app. Game changer for communication!

The breastfeeding section right now is a bit glitchy though. It won’t properly remember which breast I fed on first and sometimes just resets the previous 3 logs all back to Left.

One other suggestion would be in the Sleep section to allow a start time adjustment while the timer is running. I often forget to start it immediately and by the time baby wakes up, I forget to go back and adjust the proper start time. It’d be great if I can start the timer whenever I remember and adjust the start time right then.

Thank you for supporting the parenthood journey!

Game changer for tracking

The interface is simple, it's easy for all caretakers to use (me, my wife, g-parents, etc), and it's a life saver when trying to remember when he went to sleep, how much he drank, when he pooped, etc. Our brains were so foggy we couldn't have survived without it. And the reporting features are super simple and informative.

We used Cubtale along with the cubs more than any other thing in our house besides our bed, couch, and phone. The cubs make it so nice to track without having to open your phone (especially important when you're in a dark room with a sleeping newborn). Now that our son is older, we still use Cubtale daily to track sleep and growth when measure him.

I cannot recommend the this app app enough! I'm also in love with the cubs, but I guess that's not what I'm really reviewing here. Lastly, I've heard good things, but I didn't try out any of the experts because it wasn't a feature when we needed them (which we definitely needed!! and wish it was a feature back then!). I'll update here if we try experts for any other reasons.

Very useful, premium features worthwhile

We've found this app very useful for day to day tracking. We've found it perfect for when you need to call a doctor when our son gets sick. Our day to day memory is trash now normally & this has helped compensate!

Siri voice features in premium are great. We just logged temperature, diaper, medicine, and bottle amount while holding our sad guy with both hands. We each get push notifications when the other logs something.

The developers respond quickly to questions or comments.

Comprehensive app with user/friendly features

Accidentally found Cubtale when our daughter was born, have not stopped using it since. We meticulously keep track of everything and the premium features are a bomb for those parents who like to see the stats :) cant recommend it more! With the newly added features to show ongoing activities on locked screen, i cant be happier! Wish the apple watch features worked better, but i have high hopes this is already in the works

LOVE the app!

We tried 4-5 different apps, but what ultimately had us choosing this app was the ability to log on your apple watch, so you don’t have to have your phone on you at all times.

The only thing missing is that it doesn’t sync real time on Cubtale when starting a session on your watch. This means that if i started a sleep timer and fell asleep myself, my partner would have no idea as of how long the baby had been sleeping, and isn’t able to stop the timer, unless they did it on my watch.
Is it possible to add a real time syncing ability between watch and app? it seems like it’s an issue with the Cubs too, but it’s getting addressed (at least they say so in the “coming soon” tab under “how to use your cubs”). I’m not going to purchase the Cubs but I am a premium member and loving it :)
thank you for making tracking easy!!

The best app for keeping track of baby’s things

Cubtale is super user-friendly, and I have recommended it to every new parent. The free version offers many useful functions, And allows multiple caregivers to document. We have been using it for a year and although we do not use all the functions as much as we used to it’s still quite helpful to have a place to keep track of everything. There’s some cute sections of Cubtale where you can record memories about baby and a monthly picture. The days are long, but the years are short and I have really appreciated looking back on the little memories that I jotted down. It’s the only app I tried, but it’s the only app I ever needed.

Download this app!

Cubtale is is awesome. The first two days in the hospital, we were attempting to track everything via hand which was not ideal. We kept forgetting and the format in the hospital booklet was challenging. As soon as we got home, we downloaded this app and have loved it! Cubtale is easy to figure out, versatile in the breastfeeding/formula combo options, and tracks all the entries in a well designed fashion. We never tried any other app as there was no need, but I can’t really imagine an app being much better.

The only thing I would change is showing the active sleep timer on both user accounts as sometimes I start it and my wife then can’t finish it.

Thanks developers!

Love this for my child!

My kiddo is not the best eater since the very beginning and Cubtale has helped us (including her day time caregiver) keep exact track of the milk she consumes. I love that we can also be track all baby related things! I have submitted ideas and app improvement ideas and they have been very receptive to my feedback and have worked on updating the apps in those ways. I do own the physical cubs and use in conjucntion with Cubtale but my child care provider uses it without the physical cubs and finds it easy to use! I plan on using this for a very long time and with future children.

Great app

Wonderful user experience. Clear, easy, especially for sleep deprived new parents. The only thing that I would like to see would be an option for the total feed time that includes even the time where the feeding itself has been paused. Right now I believe Cubtale only shows active feeding time and the time since the last feed started. Although you can start and pause the feeding, Cubtale doesn’t reflect the entire length of the feeding itself, only the time that is not paused. Overall, I’m very happy about Cubtale and would recommend it to new parents.

Love this app!

I’ve been using the breastfeed tracker since my baby is born and I LOVE IT! I can change between left and right breast easily and I can see both times separately and the total time which makes tracking details so much easier and as a BONUS I can see detailed information about feed sessions and times in graphic format which helps me a lot, especially when I’m consulting with my doctor about my daughter’s feed routines.

Premie Friendly

We downloaded Cubtale when our baby was in the NICU. We knew we’d have to keep exact track of all his measurements, meals, and diapers but didn’t want to pay other apps to only get half of those needs met. We found this app and it checked every box and then some. As our baby has grown, we’ve seen the inside of plenty hospital rooms, but we always feel prepared having this valuable data and being able to do track follow up measures. We love Cubtale and recommend it to every parent we know!

Just what we were looking for

I’m loving Cubtale tremendously. I was using a homemade excel sheet to track majority of what Cubtale allows. my only suggestions is if it’s possible to include. setting for 24-hr (military time) settings instead of only 12-hr time (AM-PM). Both mom and dad use military time due to our work life so it would be one less effort instead of doing mental conversions when we’re on the run with our baby. 10/10 still recommend Cubtale!

Great product for newborns!

There are many baby trackers out there but having the physical buttons connected to the system is a huge improvement that really makes things a lot easier! Instead of worrying about keeping your phone on you at all times (or trying to remember later), a quick tap of a button makes sure baby’s latest feed or nap is captured accurately. Would highly recommend to all parents out there!

Finally yes :)!

It's like they've thought of everything! I'm not very tech savvy, and could use Cubtale with ease. Love the recommendations, it is reliable, and I have relief that I can clearly answer my baby's physicians when the time comes, everything is clearly laid out! I've noticed developments in my baby's sleep patterns that have been really helpful It's just really nice to see it visually!! Good not having to scramble through my notes and brain fog! Cubtale is the most versatile I've tried so far 💛

Great Way to Keep Things Straight

I love Cubtale! I love that I can share what is going on in our daughters life with my husband while he’s in the road and he can keep tabs on her feedings/diaper changes and other developmental milestones. It’s nice too because anyone helping with your little one that you give access to your account can update it when they change a diaper.

The one thing I wish is when you log a pee diaper that you can say how full the diaper was. Right now I’m having to make a note but when you log a bowel movement I love that you can say what color it is, consistency and how much. This would be an amazing feature to add to urination - being able to click if it was slightly full or extremely full somehow.

Other than that - I love everything about it and I don’t have premium … yet! So the fact I’m able to track so much without is nice and amazing! Highly recommend to help put your mind at ease, especially when that mommy brain kicks in!

App works so well!

We are still waiting to receive our physical this app in the mail, but downloaded Cubtale while in the hospital. Tracking feedings has been so easy with Cubtale! Being able to manually enter in feedings also helps when we forget to track. My fiancé and I both love how easy it is to just choose the side I am feeding on and press play to track. This helped our nurses understand our new baby’s feeding schedule also. I recommend Cubtale to all new parents!

Amazing Baby Tracker and Data Analytics

I absolutely love this app for tracking medications, vaccines, sleep, breastfeeding, etc. I love the easy to use functionality and ability to see trends over time. There are very useful totals and reports that help me understand how my baby is doing/changing. If you love data and assessing trends, Cubtale is for you! The ability to share across caregivers is amazing as well. I’ve also been very impressed with their customer service - truly exceptional. I would highly recommend Cubtale to anyone!

Love the app

Love Cubtale and it’s so convenient to enter the records for my twins. Best part is my spouse and me share the profile so anyone of us, can make the record. I like the part where it graphical generates the entire report. Some feedback I would like to give - it would be great if there would have been an ability to make an entry using Alexa. Also if there could be some way we could see the daily count of total pees, poos & total milk intake. That way it would have been easier to track and report to the doctor

Awesome Way to Track, Thanks CubTale!

I love Cubtale. Really easy to track all sorts of information. From breastfeeding times to poos and pees, bottle feeding, and even things like weight length and head circumference. Also leave you the options to add notes and I’ve been using as a way to journal my little ones journey. With the Apple Watch it is even quicker and easier to add logs. My only wish is that Siri worked without the subscription. Regardless of this, Cubtale certainly deserves 5 Stars! Thanks making a great way to track.

Childcare provider approved

This is the best app I have found. I have several little children and two infants in my care. Cubtale not only keeps mom and dad informed together, but let’s them know easily how the day is going. No more forgetting to tell a parent last bottle or if baby pooped. I love having even for the older kids. If we have to give meds. Best part is, I’m the only one that can see all the children I’ve been shared with. No other family can view other children’s ?, info. Wish I had this when I first started.

Love love love this app!!

My husband and I use Cubtale to record everything for our daughter. It has been a lifesaver (no joke) as we navigate the new world of parenting. We’ve had to work with a feeding specialist and increase our baby’s schedule of feeds along with tracking her weight more frequently and Cubtale has it all!
Please don’t ever take Cubtale away! Us parents are relying on it to get them through the day and night and communicate vital information to Dr’s, providers and caregivers.
